I personally recommend Shrimath Yoga School. I did their 200 hour yoga teacher training and I learned so much while I was there. Months later, I am continuing to benefit from the knowledge and experience I acquired during this time. I had never been to India prior to attending this school. It was a wonderful way to start off my trip to India. I felt very welcomed, safe and at home at Shrimath Yoga. The instructors were kind, warm and knowledgeable. They answered every single question I had and even helped me develop a personalized routine for my own practice upon leaving the school. I learned a lot about practicing and teaching yoga- not just the poses but about meditation, pranayama, and the other more spiritual and inner aspects of yoga as well as overall health. As someone…
I have been an Ashtanga Yoga practitioner since 2008. But that was something that I did as a routine. A rather inconsistent routine. But I knew I loved practicing asanas. I loved the way my body felt after every practice. But I was never particularly inclined towards Pranayama. It wouldn't be wrong to say that I hadn't developed stability to practice Pranayama. I had always been confused about which career path to take. It was in early 2019 that I decided that I wanted to be a yoga teacher. Full time. I trained under my guru Prahalad Kulkarni. I felt confident.. Asana wise. I was able to do Pranayama for longer durations now, but I knew I needed more practice and orientation. Also, I needed a certificate from a reputed institute. I checked out a few places at mysore. But the…
After spending 2 decades in cooperates it was not easy to move away from it an even more difficult to decide on which yoga to join as I had never been to any yoga studio or yoga club ! As I wanted to start from basics I started my search and it all boiled down to Shrimath Yoga ! This is one place wr you feel like you have got back not only to school but it has the old world charm of sitting under a tree in the open and learning like the traditional Indian way ... I wld highly recommend this certification program for all who seriously wld like to take up yoga as a life style and also to all of us who wld want to be away from the busy city life. KP ( as we all like to call him ) takes his yoga teaching very seriously and professionally! It was a wonderful break and a thought…
For me life was rippling along and then a sudden storm of change showed up and disrupted what little serenity I had left. Old enemies I thought were defeated like fear and insecurity returned, throwing me off kilter. My mind frantically tried to find a solution to fix the issues, the challenges, and the perceived problem, adding to my internal chaos. How do we stay calm, cool, and collected when we find the world around us has become chaotic and out of control? How do we learn to stare down any situation with inner peace and an ability to remain tranquil? One of the first things we can do when attempting to navigate a bumpy crossroads is build an inner place of peace. Taking time to cultivate a practice of quiet and learning to sit still for long enough to feel a sense of…
I stayed at shrimath for almost three months. And it was a great experience! Krishna didn’t just teach us about yoga asanas (postures), but also about everything else in yoga, like pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra and how to practice yoga in everyday life. Smriti was also extremely nice and it was great fun going shopping with her! She was also the yoga asana teacher and anatomy teacher. Going to the kids at school was a very interesting and new experience for me. They are all very energetic, eager to learn and always up for a game. It was very enriching spending time with them. And the food was amazing too; balanced, healthy and very tasty.
I landed in Shrimath yoga without much expectations. But, on reaching there, i was taken by surprise on several aspects including the ambience, accommodation, food and the landscape. Just like a vedic Gurukulam, but with modern facilities. This combination makes Shrimath Yoga a unique centre for traditional Yoga learning. Daily activities like teaching in the rural school is added advantage. It helped me to learn some interesting things from those children. It was good experience working in the garden of Shrimath as i live in an apartment where i get very limited scope for gardening. I loved thoroughly this activity. On the main part, yoga, i certainly gained a vast knowledge from Mrs and Mr. Krishna. I am thankful to them for making my first yoga learning experience very best.…
We're from Bengaluru and had to drive 40 kms from the city to reach this endearing place in the lap of mother nature called Shrimath Yoga run by the lovely couple - Krishna Prakash and Smrithi Krishna with a lot of hospitality. This is not a resort for a weekend getaway or a break from your daily routine. Yes, it certainly is a break from stress as the place embraces you with the touch of soothing breeze and tranquility. Sounds of the peacock calling in the distance can be heard amidst the sounds of chirping birds and the cow's moo! Watch the goats with their kids and the cows with their calf as you soil your hands with the aroma of fresh mud while engaging in their 3 acres campus as part of 'Karma Yoga' practice. Many trees with their botanical names and medicinal plants…
This is my third visit withthin a short period we have lots of fun in this stay. Also , it's just pleasant calm and decent place for all category people especially food is so nourishing you just feel awesome
I'm sooo late at writing my review, big apologies Shrimath. It in NO way reflects the service you provide as that is nothing short of life changing! I never usually write reviews but in this case I really want to support Shrimath and share my love! Settle in, I have a bit of a story. I completed the 200hr course in August 2016. It was incredible! Exactly what I needed at that time without knowing it. I feel very blessed to have completed this with the Shrimath family. I tell everyone of my wonderful experience here. But it didn't start so rosy... I had been in India 2 months and started a very different 200hr course in Rishikesh. I only lasted a week at this school as it was horrendous conditions to learn in! We were 50 students half Russian speaking and half English speaking…
Shrimath Yoga is a hidden treasure. Two of my friends and I were looking for a short yoga retreat while visiting India for the first time. We participated in the ‘tiny experiences’ two-day yoga retreat with Krishna and Smriti as our instructors. They are very genuine people and we greatly enjoyed my time at Shrimath Yoga. Krishna and Smriti were very respectful of our religious practices and of our goals with the course. Krishna discussed our expectations and goals with us at the start of the course so it could be more individualized of what experience we were interested in, as our group of three were the only students present on the grounds during our course. The hospitality we received was unbeatable, they truly cared for us and our yoga practice. Not only did we perform yoga…
