Nestled in the heart of the city, The Oberoi, Bengaluru is celebrated for its tranquil ambiance, replete with lush greenery that guests find to be a serene retreat. I visited The Oberoi, Bengaluru this weekend with my husband for a well deserved break post the lockdown. We were overwhelmed with the warmth and professionalism of the team. The areas were continuously sanitized and care was taken to assure hygiene and safety. The F&B offerings were incredible and we were blown away with the flavours, presentation and personalised service at The Polo Club.
The room was cozy, clean and had all the amenities provided for a comfortable stay. We loved the view of the rain tree and pool, not to mention watching the rain from our balcony. We couldn’t believe that we were in the middle of the city surrounded by so much greenery! Danyele from housekeeping customised our room and left us a handwritten note which was a special touch. The front desk noted our requests and ensured that they were actioned on a timely basis. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

We stayed here two nights at different times while transiting through Bangalore
Very friendly and traditional Oberoi welcome before being shown to spotlessly clean well equipped rooms. Well equipped airy basement fitness centre
The hotel seems to have been built around a huge magnificent tree which provides shade for the casual terrace restaurant- an oasis from the bustle of the city. Food excellent but service needs a bit of chivvying along
Very good buffet breakfast with both full range of western and local dishes
Well worth putting on the list for places to stay In Bangalore

We visited Bangalore to attend a friend’s wedding and had chosen to stay at the Oberoi for 5 days. Coincidentally, the dates incorporated with our 25th wedding anniversary so when we arrived at the venue, we were treated to a very warm welcome by the staff. The room was beautifully decorated and we received a bouquet of flowers and a beautiful chocolate cake.
To say the staff were courteous is an understatement, the entire crew were overwhelmingly pleasant and polite. We offered to tip a few of them who went out of their way to help us but they courteously declined saying that the tipping is a central collection. I can’t stress enough about their honesty.
The oberoi has a beautiful ambiance and the garden was well kept and maintained. The swimming pool was big and the gym well equipped.
The floor manager Mr Dhandapani, the breakfast staff Miss Sunita and the breakfast manager Mr Sharma are some of the people whom I can name who went out of their way to make sure our stay was as memorable and comfortable as can be. Not forgetting the front desk staff and the concierge. They were all great!
The buffet breakfast room was being renovated during our stay, therefore the allocated breakfast room was small but the quality of the food was still great. Nothing to complain about, a small price to pay for future betterment. On the last day of our stay, their newly renovated restaurant Lapis was opened and it was spacious and we were lucky to enjoy the new breakfast room before our departure. Overall, the oberoi is a classy hotel and I would surely return in future.

Dear MalaK_13, Thank you for the time taken to share your experience on TripAdvisor with such detail. It’s a delight to note that you enjoyed each aspect of your stay – starting from your arrival at out hotel and lasting throughout your stay. Your compliments for Lapis, our brand new all day restaurant are truly appreciated. Besides the vast breakfast spread that includes favourites from India and around the world, we also have a wonderful lunch buffet and an extensive a la carte menu for dinner. I feel blessed to be working with a team of genuinely caring and motivated individuals who do their best so that all our guests leave as ambassadors of the Oberoi experience. I have shared your compliments with everyone in the hotel, and I have no doubt that your acknowledgement of our efforts will motivate all of us to do even better with each passing day. We believe that a guest’s appreciation in the form of a gratuity should benefit the entire team, including the unseen support staff that make the magic happen – hence we encourage guests to leave the gratuity amount at the Front Desk as per their discretion, rather than at various service interaction points during the stay. Once a month, the collected amount is distributed amongst all hotel team members. Thank you for highlighting and appreciating the practice that we follow in this regard. We hope that you will plan another stay with us soon! Warm regards, Visheshwar Raj Singh Vice President & General Manager The Oberoi, Bengaluru

We stayed here for 3 nights after travelling from Wayanad. When we were looking for a hotel in central Bengaluru, we were torn between Taj, Conrad and Oberoi. We decided to book Oberoi to experience the hospitality of old world India and fantastic food. What a disappointing experience it was!
The only saving grace of the hotel was the meticulous Housekeeping of the room, the concierge team who helped us purchase some Ayurvedic meds and the in room dining experience we had. So kudos to those teams for doing a great job.
We ate most of our meals during our stay at Lapis their in house restaurant. Honestly, the service standard there is extremely lacking and they seem to be not well trained. For example, we booked the Valentine’s evening dinner buffet at Lapis. When we asked the staff who was serving us when the buffet is to start, he told us at 6.30pm and so we made reservations at 6.30pm for dinner. When we arrived for the buffet at the said time the buffet was being set up and we were told that they apologise but they were running late. After 20 mins we noticed that we were the only patrons there so we asked again what time does the buffet actually suppose to start that’s when we were told it’s suppose to start at 7.30pm. Yet they let us just sit there no explanations etc until we asked them again. It was only after this they asked us if we want to order some drinks and we did so. We also told them that this not acceptable in a well known 5 star hotel that patrons are waiting for almost half hour without anyone telling them the truth. We would have cut them some slack if they simply had said we were given the wrong start time for the buffet and it only starts at 7.30pm so do we want to wait and order some drinks or come back. Simple as that. The waitress apologised to us for this but no apology from the restaurant manager who was walking past us just ignoring us.
We were looking forward to a lovely dinner on our 19th Valentine’s Day and a post 40th birthday celebration but it did not turn out to be a nice experience.
The food was also ok and nothing to shout about either.
The front desk staff were also unfriendly and could do with some in depth training on guest relations.
It’s really a shame because it is a beautiful hotel set among an amazing garden right in the centre of Bengaluru
So if you want better service, food and value for your money just go to another 5 star hotel in Bengaluru. That is what we will do.

Dear MalaWillTravel, Thank you for your review on TripAdvisor. While we are very grateful to you for having chosen our hotel to celebrate a special occasion, please accept my most sincere apologies for being unable to live up to your expectations regarding your dining experience with us at Lapis due to the way our restaurant and front office team interacted with you. While there is nothing that can amend the disappointment you felt during the dinner experience with us but I assure you that all your points of observation and concern have been personally addressed by me with the related leadership teams. Your feedback has provided ample and specific inputs for us to work upon and improve. It will be our sincere endeavour to prove our commitment to excellence and regain your trust. I tried to call you on the number that is available with us in order to apologise to you, unfortunately, I was unable to get through the number. I do hope that you received my email sent on Thursday, 04th March 2020? On a more encouraging note, it is a delight to see your positive comment on our Housekeeping, Concierge and In Room Dining team and their service orientation and that you enjoyed the ambience of our hotel. At The Oberoi Group, we believe in creating meaningful lifetime relationships with our patrons and you will always be a very valued guest for us. In that spirit, I will remain hopeful of hearing from you and welcoming you back to our hotel soon. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding. Me and my wife stayed here for a weekend. The property is beautiful with each room having a private balcony with a view of the rainforest/pool. The hotel gives you the feeling of peace and serenity from the outside hustle and bustle in the middle of the city.
The staff arranged a lovely surprise for my wife's birthday in the room which was great.
The service and staff were great overall, especially at the polo club and at the reception. However, the service was horrible at breakfast with Lapis restaurant being understaffed. There were numerous issues from there being no staff to staff forgetting your order to waiting for half an hour for your food. There was a constant need to ask the staff to remove used plates to make space. Also, the breakfast spread was mostly vegetarian and very minimal in terms of variety (maybe due to covid?).
Overall a great stay with a tiny hiccup.

Dear AkashBhadani Thank you for choosing The Oberoi to celebrate a special occasion. We are privileged to have been part of this celebration. While your acknowledgement about our ambience, rooms and our service particularly at Polo Club is indeed encouraging, it is disheartening to learn that you left dissatisfied with some aspects of our service at Lapis, for which please do accept my sincere apologies. It is our endeavour to ensure that every guest leaves as an ambassador of our hotel. In your case, we clearly failed to do so, and for that please accept my sincere and heartfelt apologies. My team and I feel terrible that you have left with such a negative impression. Unfortunately we have been unable to identify your name or room number from this review. I request you to please share your contact details by email with me at GeneralManager.Bengaluru@Oberoihotels.com so that I can directly connect with you and identify exactly where we faltered and also personally apologize for this experience. I learn from every conversation with our guests and do not want to miss out on this opportunity to improve our service. Once again thank you very much for sharing this feedback with us. I look forward to hearing from you. Warm regards, Visheshwar Raj Singh Vice President & General Manager The Oberoi, Bengaluru

Me and my wife stayed at The Oberoi, Bengaluru from 22nd January, 2020 to 25th January, 2020 and without any second thoughts I can say that this is one of the finest properties in the city. What attracts you at first is the ambience of the place, doesn't feel like you are in the heart of busy Bengaluru. Gardens, Lawns, Ponds, Fountains makes you feel like you are in a resort.
Speaking of Food, There's a lot to choose at this hotel. With options of multi-cuisine, Thai specialty, Japanese and Chinese, and also a Bar.
We dined at all of them for different meal periods and all of them provided an exceptional service and amazing food.
Would specially like to mention Rim Naam which is the Thai specialty restaurant. The taste and quality of the food is outstanding and the service is to the T.
Last but not the least, during this pandemic period most important is safety and hygiene. This is something you can never complain about in this hotel. We observed that all places we being regularly sanitized, the staff was wearing mask and gloves all the time and of course there was a general sense of cleanliness in the hotel.
Overall, It was a great experience, Just what you would expect from The Oberoi.

One of the best experience had during 2020 so far.The oberoi lives up to it's name. Located in the heart of the city a very beautiful property with numerous selfie spots, if u r looking for spending some time in the midst of nature without going out of the city Oberoi is definitely recommended.Sanitization part is on top notch,I enjoyed my stay without any hesitation or fear, highest degree of hospitality along with stringent health safety measures. The ocassion was my husbands birthday and we went for staycation,we almost enjoyed our three days inside the hotel only, we didn't felt the need of going outside despite the whole area had lots of restaurants, shopping centres and cafes. Oberoi has one of the best food varieties, with great infrastructure given to every restaurant wether breakfast at lapis or opulent dinner at Rim Nam. I would like to thank Mr.Nikhil for being so approachable and making sure tht everything goes smooth as per our wish n plans, his hospitality was equally magical, I appreciate all the efforts he took to make our 3 days hassle free, relaxing and wonderful while he also gave us a complimentary extended check out. Special call out to Mr. Rohith Vishwanath Balakrishnan because of him I chose oberoi over many others, for following up on evry minute details and request and curated stunning experiences from Room decoration part to organizing a Yummilicious chocolate cake, from organizing a special candle light dinner in our own balcony to providing us food vouchers to simplify our lunch and dinner needs, his efforts worked all the way through for making our stay more special, just beyond our expectations, Sheer Opulence. Kudos to the team..I am overwhelmed to see the efforts each n every1 took for making our days special in this time of pandemic, God bless u all. And my heartfelt thanks to every1. Will definitely come back for another mind changing experience.

This was our a second visit within a month and it exceeded all our expectations in terms of par excellence service.
Located in the midst of a bustling metro city of the south, and that too on the iconic MG Road, this place seems like a nature resort with plenty of greenery and walking paths all around.
The best part of this Oberoi at MG Road is the level of service right from the moment you enter the property till your room. The people are absolutely genuine in their courteous behaviour.
The rooms are well equipped and the TV controls and the room controls are through an iPad kept in the room. The kids would love it.
The restaurant for breakfast is a very luxurious place and the breakfast menu is elaborate. The pastries are lip smacking and the cruffin is not to be missed.
The surprise was the valet car park guys also get your car washed

We had earlier stayed with Oberoi during the new year but this time it felt absolutely wonderful, not only because of the occasion, but also because of a lot of renovation work that was going on earlier was completed and the staff in general was very impressive. Now, Oberoi boasts pan Asia restaurants, but we mostly ate Indian food in Lapis
Some, in general, great things about Oberoi not there in many other 5 Stars are :
1. On demand butler Service by press of a button. The butler can make coffee, unpack bags, tidy your shoes and do anything you need basically
2. You are not encouraged to directly tip people staff. You are encouraged to put your tips in an envelope and submit it at reception when you checkout
3. They seem to have a rather fast and smooth check in service in comparison to many hotels
From the time we entered, we were given a garland and arti welcome and the room was setup with congratulatory messages . Even the TV screen had a beautiful custom message.
The hotel staff and housekeeping staff went above and beyond with a smile and custom messages all over . The food in Lapis was great. The pizza we had was the best we had ever. The Chef himself came personally to ask for feedback . There was this thing called Karari roti, we had first time. The spa treatment was very good and relaxing with professional service. The overall hospitality during the special occasion made us feel like dignitaries , thanks to the staff at Oberoi .

Dear Sowmya-Sekhar12, It was a pleasure to welcome your husband and you back and we are grateful that you choose The Oberoi to celebrate your anniversary. We hope you both are safe and in the best of health! Thank you for the time taken to share your experience on TripAdvisor with such detail. It’s a delight to note that you enjoyed each aspect of your experience – starting from your arrival at out hotel and lasting throughout your stay. The Values and Dharma handed down by our Founder Chairman – Rai Bahadur MS Oberoi, further endorsed by our Executive Chairman, Mr. PRS Oberoi and now embodied Mr. Vikram Oberoi, our Chief Executive Officer guides us to work as a team to ensure that we only create memorable experiences for all our guests. It is gratifying to receive your feedback which demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction and upholding all these values. We believe that a guest’s appreciation of our services in the form of a gratuity should benefit the entire team, including the unseen support staff that make the magic happen – hence we encourage guests to leave the gratuity amount at the Front Desk as per their discretion, rather than at various service interaction points during the stay. The amount is collected at the Front Desk and once a month, they are distributed amongst all hotel team members. Thank you also for highlighting and appreciating the practice that we follow regarding the common gratuity system for the team. Wishing you both many more wonderful years of blissful togetherness and we hope that you will definitely plan another stay with us soon. Warm regards, Visheshwar Raj Singh Vice President & General Manager The Oberoi, Bengaluru

A lesson on how hospitality should be. We had provided the hotel with our flight details but had said airport transfer was not required but when we landed a hotel rep was on hand to make sure we were ok and sourced us an airport taxi, A very nice touch. Covid-19 was really taking hold when we stayed and the hotel had screening measures in place before we entered the hotel to ensure everyones safety and they made sure hand sanitiser was readily available in all areas and you could see the staff were busy making sure all touch points were getting extra attention with cleaning. The room its self was perfectly clean and a nice balcony with view of the gardens, and what gardens they are a lovely way to relax and have a walk round, you would not believe you were in the heart of the city. We ate dinner in the Lapis restaurant and the food and recommendations were first class. All in all an excellent stay and we will defiantly return next time we are in Bengaluru.

Dear Mr. Anurga,
Thank you for you query.
Although there are few guests who do order food items from aggregators like Swiggy but in recent times and with the heightened cautions pertaining to Covid-19 protocols, we would strongly request our guests to abstain from the same.
Given safety and hygiene concerns, our own restaurants, in room dining and chef curated culinary experiences can adequately cater to guest requirements both in terms of quality and variety.
Than you & warm regards
