There are times when reviews, gratuity or other forms can fully express the gratitude I felt after this 5 day trip! We spent 4 nights in Thiksey (Leh) and one night at their sister property in Nubra. 1. The Property: Built on the Thiksey Monastery’s property, and in Nubra it’s sister Dikshit Monastery’s property with direct view of the monastery and surrounded 360 by mountains. During our time, these were snow capped - making it more beautiful! The property has 20 odd tents, each tastefully and masterfully built and decorated. It has all modern amenities, heating, hot water and a LOT MORE. But, most of all - those views as you open your eyes and sit outside in the tent veranda are ones that stay with you forever. They also have a small but curated library and host of games (indoor and outdoor) to keep you entertained as you acclimatize. The property is managed by Joydeep. Although he isn’t a local, but he depth in knowledge of the region, ability to perceive and recommend the right experiences depending on a guests preference surely make him feel like one! And just the level of impeccable service he and his team bring, is just phenomenal! Also, you will get a butler assigned to your tent. Aditya in Thiksey and Komin in Nubra were ever present as needed and took care of all our little to large needs! 2. The Food: Both facilities, because they cater to a small number of guests - take effort to customize your experience. At Thiksey, especially look out for Bilu and Arpan in the dining area. They take special care to make sure everything is perfect. If I had one critique - would have liked more local options outside of the European and North Indian pre-set menu options they serve everyday. However, Joydeep made special arrangement for us to have a ‘Ladakh Culnary Experiential’ at a local restaurant Namza which did a 12-course tasting menu specially for us, which was authentic and absolutely amazing. Having said that, the pre-set menus in the restaurant are fantastic, and all the food is very tastefully prepared with great attention to detail. 3. The Spa / Wellness: Whether you’re acclimatizing on day 1, or trying to relax your aching muscles on your last day after all the treks and explorations - highly recommend visiting the spa. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but I can vouch that they are worth every rupee. Imtiaz and Navjot truly are magicians. Also, the treatments are in locally inspired, and will be something you haven’t ever probably experienced before. I tried the ‘Julley’ treatment - which focuses on the head - was absolutely blissful! Imtiaz gave me the best treatment of my life, without any exaggerations 4. The Experience: Even though everything above seems great - this to me TRULY sets this place apart, and made a great vacation for us to one that was nearly life changing. Each tent get paired with a driver and an experience guide, who start with picking you up to the airport, customize and arrange every little detail in your itinerary and your your true eyes into the real Ladakh. We were very lucky to have Lob Zang (our driver) and Tashi (our experience guide) be part of our 5 days vacation. At the end of it, they were closer to dear friends than anything. Both are locals and know the intricacies of Ladakh. Whether you’re looking to delve into Buddhism and learn more about it, or take treks and hikes that take you deep into the wilderness - Tashi is your guy. He has studied in the monasteries under great Lamas, and also has led MANY treks and hikes over the past decade. Most of all, both of them are just amazing guys - a lot of what you’d expect from the locals! On the last day, as we were returning to Thiksey from Nubra, we were supposed to pit-stop at Pangong Tso. However due to landslide the route was closed. Lob Zang and Tashi noticed our disappointment, and took it upon themselves to drive 6 hours extra on Ladakh’s treacherous roads to make sure we didn’t miss out on the beautiful lake. More than the lake - the gesture was more beautiful, and of course the adventure of driving to Chang La Pass at 10 in the night, and drinking pure glacier water as it snows was just other worldly. Tashi’s knowledge of Buddhism is also incredible, and for someone like us who knew so little - we were interested, intrigued and genuinely amazed as the intricacies, stories and depth. Tashi is truly your guy - please request for him for an amazing, amazing, amazing trip! Overall, if you want a truly amazing vacation, where you get to focus on the trip and relaxing, let everything else get self-planned, and meet some amazing people - this is the place and trip for you! Best, most luxurious place in Ladakh, hands down!

Amazing location, well appointed tents , amazing food and the hospitality is the best we’ve ever seen. We stayed with our 5 year old and the team made sure they did everything to make our stay comfortable. The guide and driver provided by them were also amazing companions and made sure we saw everything Ladakh has to offer. Highly recommend staying here.

An exceptionally luxurious retreat at par with the very best. Overlooked by Thiksey monastry, the extremely well appointed tents offer quiet privacy in the midst of Ladakh mountains. Highly highly recommended and worth every penny. The staff go well out of their way to ensure that every moment is cherished.

We visited both the TUTC camps in Thiksey & Nubra and highly recommend this property for the most memorable experience with ur family. Beautiful landscape Uber comfortable tents & superb food make it a perfect fit for a family bonding holiday. They help organise the waking & cycling treks, visits to the monastery ..city tour & market visit basically one point contact for the entire trip so you can travel hassle free.

Location, tents and most of the experiences were great. Our driver Stanzin Skyongsal and our guide Tashi Choglamsar (provided by the camp) were very reliable and went out of the way to make our trip great. However, there were issues with housekeeping and cleanliness that weren’t addressed promptly or properly. The food also was not up to the mark keeping in mind the price tag. It’s also better to skip their packed lunches and instead find local restaurants to eat at.

There are no high end branded hotels in Lehi so Chamba Camp Thiskey is the closest it comes to a luxury hotel. The team at the hotel is very good Dorjee in the front desk, Indranil at house keeping were the best. Dorjee was excellent at arranging bespoke experiences for us. We came to Leh for my wife's birthday and Dorjee organised a band Groove Ladakh for us who really lightened up the birthday celebrations. Out guide Nwang Phunchok was the best, he took us on excellent excursions in Ladakh, he was humble prompt and full of knowledge. Him along with our driver Stanzin made our trip memorable. The food at the camp was not that great, due to covid they were short staffed and to order any ala carte dish you had to tell them a day in advance which was very inconveneint. The place is pricey but better than most places in Leh.

The Chamba camp is a high end luxury camp. The room is very luxurious and the views from the room are excellent. Dorjee at the camp is very prompt and always available to sort issues out and organise bespoke experiences. We had gone to the camp to celebrate my wife's birthday and Dorjee organised a band called Groove Ladakh for her birthday night. It was an amazing evening. The excursions fromt he camp were excellent. Our guide Nawang Phunchok was the best, humble, prompt and full of knowledge, without him we would not have enjoyed Leh as much. He along with our driver Stanzin were the best. The food at the camp was not that great, due to coivd they had shortage of staff so for the ala carte menu you had to give them advance notice which was inconvenient. Indranil in House keeping was great and prompt and kept our room very clean. The only thing that the bathroom needed was a jet or a bidet. It is a great place to stay pricey but worth it.

Was in Chamba Camp during Aug 2019 for 5 Days, Leh which in itself is a great holiday destination was made Perfect with my stay at Chamba, spent my first 5 days in Leh doing sight seeing and later checked into Chamba Camp The co-operation they extended to help me surprise my wife impressed me, they took care details of even removing the name from the pick-up vehicle, perfect co-ordination thanks for that. Located right on the Leh Manali highway yet so isolated and calm place, attention to details for everything to make the stay just perfect and relaxing. Special mention of our Guide Mr. Jigmet whose knowledge of place and Buddhism was very informative and as person very humble and down to earth. I would highly recommend this place to relax and unwind from busy city life. just make sure that you stay in the camp and enjoy all pampering that staff and place has to offer.
