Jimmy home stay is run by a local family. It has clean and comfortable rooms and a beautiful garden with beautiful flowers and organic vegetables outside the window. A view of a great glacier and also a wonderful view of beautiful Buddhist temple on the mountain (Shanti Stupa). One will surely enjoy coffee on the roof top at sunrise and sunset. A place you feel at home.

Jimmy's homestay was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. It had a very pretty garden with apple trees which Jimmy's dad let us pick and eat from. We got a beautiful room with a mountain view. Jimmy was very helpful with arranging transportation and permit. His family was very warm and friendly. All this made our experience a good stay. We've taken back good memories from Ladakh and it was possible only because Jimmy was so helpful and made it easy for us.

We stayed for 8 days in the Jimmy’s Guest House. I had travelled with my 70-year-old mother who is diabetic (fully vaccinated) during COVID, so I had to be extra cautious to stay in a guest house where there isn’t too much crowding. Jimmy gave us a room right above their family’s room which was quiet and peaceful. The room had lovely view, and you could see the snow-clad mountains and also the beautiful garden of the guest house with the flowers in full bloom. Taking along my elderly mother wasn’t an easy task but Jimmy and his staff along with their family members did an excellent job to take care of my mother. Towards the end of our stay Jimmy’s mother gave us chamomile flowers from their garden to drink with tea which is considered very good for nerve pain issues for diabetic patient. I was even away for a night to travel to Nabura and Pangong and had left my mother behind in the guest house. But Jimmy’s family looked after my mother while I was away. The city centre is bit far, and you have to walk around 15 -20 minutes but it’s a pleasant walk to the market. The guest house also provides cooked meals and organic seasonal vegetables from their garden. If you are travelling with a senior citizen and looking for a quieter guest house who understands the requirements of elderly traveler, I highly recommend you stay in this property

The location is near Changspa Road with many tour agencies, restaurants and shops. The owner showed a quick route map to us! But the staff along with the owner are not efficient enough. Environment is nice and chilling.

It was a great stay. It gives a feeling of one's home environment. Food is like a home food. It has garden & mountain facing rooms. Mountain facing rooms r new & better. They provide food as per your requirement if informed in time. Great stay.

We stayed for 6 nights 7 days and Jimmy organised our trip to Nubra,Pangong and Tsomo Riri. It was great. The entire family take great care of the guest. As I was interested in having local food,Jimmy's mother Mrs.Stobgyal cooked delicious Ladakhi food for every meal, including breakfast herself and she gave me tips too. Rooms are quite big and clean with necessary amenities. Rooms have good views and they have a beautiful flower garden and fruit trees including apple. One can pluck apple and eat. City center is little far away around 15 to 20 mins walk from the homestay. Jimmys homestay also arrange activities like trekking, biking and other adventure sports. Quite reasonable to the pocket with required facilities and excellent host,I highly recommend this property to everyone.

The place is away from hustle-bustle of the town and provides a very comfortable stay for its price. A patch of garden provides a refreshing space for relaxation. Affiliated to YHAI, this place is ideally suited for youngsters, who may like to engage in some sports / adventure activities. On the flip-side, the homestay does not offer a good choice for meals, though the breakfast menu is decent. [Certain items are also available round-the-clock.] The market area, where most of the good restaurants are, a little far to venture, especially in the evenings. It will be good if a fare of local cuisine can be organized, at least for the dinner.

I just cannot think of anything negatives about this place. The cleanliness, the food, the spacious rooms, the views from the rooms, the set and setting, the garden, the hangout area - Everything is just perfect about this place. But what truly stands out is the hospitality of the hosts and owners. Mr and Mrs Stobgyal run this place with such warmth and love, words truly fall short. They stay on the ground floor of the property and the property itself is quite big and spacious to be called a home stay. It is a perfect blend of a travelers hostel, home stay and guest house. On the day we were checking out, we had an early morning flight back to Mumbai. We had got up at 5:30am and were planning to leave by around 7:00am. Since we had stayed there for nearly 7 days, we knew that the kitchen generally is operational by 7:30-8:00am, so we didn't expect to get tea/coffee/breakfast so early in the morning. We were planning to have our morning tea in the airport as it was just a 15 min drive from Jimmy's. At 6:45am, we heard a knock on the door. When I opened, it was Mrs. Stobgyal with a broad and warm smile on her face with a tray in her hand and 3 cups of steaming hot tea standing out there in that biting cold. She had made the tea at her place and had brought it up in that freezing cold so early in the morning. The cafe - Metta Cafe - is run by Tanvi who cooks really yummy continental breakfast. She has decked up the hangout area very aesthetically. The only thing which was lacking during our stay at Jimmy's was 'time'. I really really wish I could longer.

We were a group of 6 and stayed at Jimmy's for 7 days in August. The place is walking distance from market. Clean and well maintained rooms with attached bathrooms, hot water facility and T.V. Wi fi is available but keep in mind that in these places you cannot expect 24/7 connectivity. Breakfast prepared at the cafe is amazing. They have a lovely garden where they grow beautiful flowers, veggies and of course apples. The hosts are friendly and warm people. There is a washing machine on the property and you can make use of it. Parking is available.

The rooms do not correspond to the pictures shown on the internet. The sheets were extremely dirty and we had to ask 3 times to change them. We were left with no light for an entire night because they did not have a new light bulb. The owner is kind and welcoming, but the personnel is totally incompetent, extremely slow and very forgetful. They keep justifying the inconveniences as being due to renovation, but apparently the guesthouse seems to be constantly under renovation. In fact, not all rooms are fully furbished. The guesthouse is in a quiet location about 20 minutes by foot from the bazaar and the city centre.
