Detailed Reviews
This is merely a 3 Star.Do not confuse this with Shangrila Chain. Location is 2 km away from market can will take Rs 200 to reach market and same back. New employees try to give their best but have to ask everything from senior which they say CHARGEABLE. Even they called me to say tea coffee kit is chargeable onwards, only shall refill once in day. RO water is free. You will be calling plumber definitely once for your stay, I bet. Breakfast with 4-5 items not great in taste either. Lastly too expensive and over rated property. No swimming pool as shown in some sites.

I reserved it as a surprise birthday gift for a close buddy. It was amazing. The hospitality staff's assistance was invaluable when it came to putting up the table and adding decorations. I loved it The breakfast buffet at the hotel was excellent. The view from the rooms was the nicest attraction. It's difficult to find anything bad to say about this fantastic hotel. Let's just say that this is one of those hotels that you will really remember to avoid using a bunch of superlatives.

One of the best hospitalities I have experienced so far…. Rooms, Food, Ambience is undoubtedly very good, but the best part was staff and the way we were treated.
Few of them to mention are -
Ajay Sahu (Manager), R P Singh (Dining Incharge), Dharmendra (Chef). Dharam Singh (Dining Attendant) who have been extremely co-operative and pampering us all through our stay.
My son wanted to eat Momos on his last day and these guys went out of the way to arrange from outside due to short notice and also served us fried version instantly.
Thank you team Shangrila ❤️
I wish them all the very best & highly recommend for a homely stay in this hotel whenever you visit Leh Ladakh 😍

The hotel is a few mins ride from the airport. Apart from that, I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is good, and that is where the good things about the hotel end. The service is terrible. For everything I needed, I had to call them up several times, even for water bottles. The rooms were never ready on time and we had to wait both times we checked in (arrival in Leh and from Nubra valley). Hot water was an issue and I had to call again a couple times. Food was alright, but the same menu every single time. There was absolutely no variation in food - either in breakfast or dinner. In breakfast, the bread used in sandwiches was clearly stale as it had dried out edges. In dinner, we were sick of the food by the time our trip ended. Same chicken, dal and paneer. They did not even make any other thing during the four nights we stayed there.
There was dirty linen in the closets in the room. The toilet in a room started leaking one day and I had a difficult time explaining to the technician they sent that it was actually stinking. His solution was a room freshener and when I created a ruckus, then I was shifted to a different room (a suite). I had two nights remaining and I only had to pay for the upgrade for one night.
The worst and the most surprising part was they did not give a proper bill. I got a handwritten bill, which I am kinda upset about as I should have realised it earlier. That sort of puts a bummer as it shows the hotel may not be operating to Shangri La standards.
Overall, avoid.

Neat & clean hotel in Leh.
Excellent view from rooms.
Service is perfect.
I am giving them 3 stars only because their food is very bad.
Taste of food is so bad that I will suggest them to change their cheff or give him proper training to prepare food which can increase their rating.
Mr.Salim was very helpful.
Overall good experience but again I will say take package only with breakfast not with dinner or lunch.
Another minus point hotel is 1.7 km far from main market.
So be careful if you are not taking their meal plan get something packed from market to enjoy better experience.

I have heard about this hotel on different sites so I stayed here for four nights with my family and friends. I found that the staff is very rude and uncooperative. They scolded our children. Food was very monotonous and only very few items were edible. Rooms were ok and poor maintenance reflected everywhere.
With all these things how can one recommend this hotel when lot many better options are available.
I think that the arrogance of staff will kill this hotel at a time.

Just an average hotel. Room number 402 is not good, hot water is not available immediately. The restaurant is also very sub par with similar priced hotels. The staff is good though but the experience that hotel provides is poor in my opinion.
There are few better options near this hotel like Singhe (5mins walk to leh market), Abduz, Grand dragon.

I visited Ladakh last June with my friends, it was really awesome decision to choose this hotel. The rooms were really clean and the behaviour of all staffs were very good specially manager sir was too much careful to all of us. Food and hospitality was also awesome .I recommend all to stay here and If I go to ladakh in future my first choice will be hotel Shangrila.

One of the most phenomenal places to stay in leh:) the manager Mr Thakur and the staff will make you feel like home. And the food was just mind blowing ❤️. They planned the entire trip for us and it was simply flawless. My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience.
I am sure I am gonna head there again , just for a leisurely week in the coming years
