Visited in Sept 2019: Location: Close to grand dragon Leh, this ones is the budget arm of same hotel. Property: Well maintained, beautiful flowers and some mesmerizing unobstructed views of the mountains. once can simply gaze at the mountains the entire day! Rooms: decent sized. Food: Ambience and food here is awesome. Mr Tenzin was one of the friendliest managers here. He gave some candid and honest opnions about the town and things to do. It was great to talk to him and know in depth about life in Ladakh. Verdict: A must stay!
For my 2nd trip to Leh this August, i booked Hotel Dragon for 5 days stay. The Hotel has a good location i.e.10 mins walk from the main market. Good sitting area to soak the sun with a beautiful mountain view. They have 2-3 choices in room selection and are pretty clean. The staff is very courteous and made my stay extremely comfortable. Special thanks to Mr. Tashi and Krishnaji.
This is classified as one of the best hotels in Leh. However the hotel needs to improve their reception service. We walked into the hotel after a long and tiring 10-hr trip from Jispa, Himachal Pradesh. We were not welcomed in the usual manner befitting a luxury hotel of this stature - no cold towels, no welcome drinks nothing. Instead a male receptionist simply pushed a form and informed me to fill up the form. When i questioned him on why i needed to fill up the details when they already have our IDs and bookings, he changed his request to ask us for our email IDs. After that he shuffled another 2 forms for our personal particulars. When i questioned him again, he then told us to just sign the form. Couldn’t these people be trained to be more discerning? There are many travellers who arrive at Leh after long journeys from neighbouring states. They sld know from our profiles where we are coming from and make the checkin process as simple and welcoming as possible. Next the wifi issue - the reception staff gave us the password and off we went to the room. However the wifi didn’t work and we called them. They said they will check. No call came for the next 15 mins. When we called them again, then they informed us that they had given us the wrong ID. They claimed the IT dept had mixed up our surname which is used as the password. The last straw was when I called the front desk manager to give him my feedback on the shoddy check-in process. Instead of being empathetic to the situation, he was just being very defensive about the reasons for the forms to be filled up. He was completely oblivious to what I was trying to get across. The saving grace was the excellant view from our room and the F&B outlets. The food was awesome and so was the staff in the restaurants.…
For me this is the eighth time in ladakh. However this Place really brings to you true picture of leh. You feel at home, most courteous and hospitable staff, I have ever seen. Near to market , clean spacious rooms on the top of it excellent and delectable food. Three cheers to old Man Mr. Krishna and Mr. Tenzin who manages the hotel very well. Worth staying. 😄
Got to stay in Hotel Dragon from 11 to 15 June 2019. Stay 1. Nice, big, cozy rooms. (Some have a good view) 2. Plenty of common Sitting area balconies. 3. Good food (got hot and tasty breakfast) Location 1.Very close to city market (5-7 minutes walking) 2.Many bike rentals too close by Will definitely stay again. Kudos!
Nice hotel, very close to market. Food was good, we took BF and Dinner included in package. We stayed there for 2 nights. Staff is very decent, including the boys in restaurant. Food was good. We had early morning flight, the owner was so nice that he told that his staff will pack our BF as well, as it was part of our package, but the cook was so nice, that he kept our BF ready at 5:30 AM in the morning. More than property it is the hospitality which makes any property popular, so I must say that the owner and staff are both very nice. So, while leaving Leh, I had very pleasant impression about the city and people on my mind.
We stayed 4 nights in the Grand Dragon hotel and it was absolutely wonderful. Very hospitable and personal services, great food and nice complete rooms (even with sun block and lip balm for the sun). The hotel is well aware of the altitude sickness guests could get and have all kind of measures in house. On advice of the hotel we hired a car and driver for multi day trips to Pangong lake and Nubra Valley. The hotel gave us coffee/tea, cookies and water for the journey and most of all, provided an oxygen tank to take with us during the trips (just to make sure we would be ok on 17.500 ft). Besides this, the driver was an absolute professional and great company. Nangsal is a very good driver which you absolutely need on these small roads on high altitude and bad roads. Thank you 🙏🏻 for taking good care of us, we will be back! Ladakh has stolen a bit of our hearts!…
clean and cozy rooms and supposedly one of the oldest hotels in Ladakh - it has traditional wood work and looks very inviting.Pretty near to the market area and easily accessible. The food served in the restaurant is yummy!
I loved the top floor room and the adjacent balcony. This hotel has no lift but it is worth taking stairs as the top floor views are mesmerising. Hotel staffs are very courteous. The breakfast included in the hotel tariff is average. The main bazaar is just 300 meter away from the hotel is one of the major advantage.
It was recommended by a friend. The Hotel is very well located, just about 500 mtrs from the Main Market. The place is neat & clean and food very good. The staff is the best, very courteous, hardworking and willing to help at all times. They are always positive and smiling.I wanted water, one day at 4 am, and it was there. There is a small library and open space and terraces to sit and enjoy the scenic beauty and the weather.
