Located some 500 meters from the Leh market, Hotel Abu Palace on Old Road, Leh is a nice place to stay with clean and spacious rooms, a cemented lawn and a nice terrace. The property falls in the budget class and it has its own in-house restaurant. Fort Road is connected by a connecting road. The place is a little off the main road (Old Road) and it may not be possible to bring your vehicles inside. However parking is available in nearby locations.
Located in Old Road, Hotel Abu Palace gives you value for money. The hotel has a lovely in-house restaurant as well. The rooms are all cozy and well-lit. Further, the rooms have a quiet-touch as the hotel is located a little away from the Main Road. Leh market is easily accessible as are the surrounding markets.
We had our bookings done by our tour agency here (while we were on our bike trip to Ladakh). The location of hotel is good, rooms are spacious and food as well is decent, but basic facilities such as ceiling fan is missing and getting hot/warm water in bathroom is shear luck. Leh had warm enough climate (at least when we visited - July) so ceiling fan is a must, both during daytime and night. Moreover, there are no geysers/boilers in bathroom (so forget about taking a warm bath on reaching this place), and if you get warm water, consider yourself lucky - coz there seems to be only one boiler in the entire hotel which is turned on/off on staff’s/owner’s discretion (that’s what we were told when complaining about hot water to the reception).
This hotel is very close to the airport , about 5 mins drive from domestic airport. It is also about 200 mtrs from the vile parle local station on western line. which is the most convenient mode of transport. hotel rooms are good and comfortable. maintained very good. They have good restaurant and food is good. good place for business travelers and family as well.
We were looking for a hotel in Leh and most of the good hotels we checked were completely booked (with parking spots occupied by tempo travellers). Kept searching and came to a hotel asking for a room. The gentleman at the reception took us to a sister hotel which was Abu palace. The hotel is away from main road (around 150 mtrs) through a narrow alley and is easy to miss. The room and property was average and we took this considering that everything else seemed to be pathetic or sold out. The staff was helpful and answered our questions about Leh (we had a ton of them as it was our first day there). Didn't have food so cannot comment and overall this turned out to be an average deal for us. The location is a disadvantage and I would give it a skip if I travel to Leh again.
When I visited La-dakh for the 1st time in July 2009, I stayed at this place on the 1st floor. 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the main market of Leh. The place is very quiet. It has a huge dining hall. As you get out of the campus of the hotel, there are many shops including chemist. The rooms are clean, service is very good and as far as the food served, it was so good that I will have to write a special review on this subject. I will definitely recommend this Hotel for those who do not require Luxurious stay but a descent & clean stay.
I have been returning to this family run hotel each year for more than a decade for a month in summer. In the breathtaking mountains of Ladakh, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the cooked meals are excellent and the staff unfailingly obliging and friendly.
Decent hotel, good for the price.... Entrance not so defined so u wouldn't really know whr it is....good food, clean rooms and wonderful service... A good deal for a comfortable stay..! The market is walking distance with bike rentals nearby..!!

we went for a trip through YATRA for a trip to Leh. this hotel was selected by yatra people for the guests after being misled by their marketing people who told many of the guests that we would be given three star property. this hotel was more of a lodge with facilities of a hotel non existent. No bed sheet was provided under the blankets. windows had no grills. hot no room service. water timings were fixed. room lighting was dull. this hotel is surrounded by buildings from 3 sides with a narrow lane leading to it. although the food was okay. few complaints were addressed but after too much nagging and deliberetion by the hostel staff. as such this lodge was much below standard for a person promised a 3 star property. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH YATRA OVERALL. would not finalise any tour with yatra again.…
