This is a great hotel in Leh. We traveled for the Zanskar River Chadar ice trek this February and needed a base in Leh to acclimatize to the altitude for a few days, and stay in afterwards. The Tsokar team were brilliant at looking after us, and were so helpful when we needed extra nights after the airport was closed by snow. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and the rooms were cosy and warm, looking over the courtyard (winter) garden. The hot showers after a cold trek were amazing, and the hotel has a perfect location for walking into town in a few minutes. We will definitely go back!

We (my friend Jitesh and I) visited this gem for a short 3 night trip last week. Right from the warm welcome to the time we checked out - this hotel oozes of hospitality, warmth and friendliness. The owner is a really nice and friendly person, and his attitude spills over to the staff. The ever-friendly Akshay who manages the dining area, his colleagues, the chef - all of them add so much value to this place.
The rooms are wonderful and the most amazing thing was the central heating, which kept us warm even when temperatures were negative outside. Everything was in perfect working condition and the fact that this was off season (and hence fewer tourists) did not impact any of the services or facilities. The garden with a couple of trees full of apples was a visual treat.
The food was superb.
The place is just a 7-10 min walk from the market. God willing, we will be back with families in the near future. This is a perfect all-round package - a true gem in Leh.

Very clean and elegant hotel,close to main shopping street, but tucked away from traffic. Staff are well trained and attentive towards guest requirements. The cuisine is very tasty and the house cook deserves special mention. The dining room steward /helpers were very warm and eager to help.

Me and family simply fell in love with this boutique hotel at the heart of Leh. This hotel had limited number of rooms on offer, however the service and the hospitality that we received from the staff in the resort was truly exceptional. This property we booked through Kailash Expeditions, and we really appreciate their recommendation. Next comes the food that was thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The spread was adequate both for breakfast and dinner, not too much neither too less. And the quality and taste were mouth-watering, special mention for the chefs’ culinary skills that were on display, and we thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes including the nice choice of desserts that were served during the meals. We stayed there twice for two nights each during the period 25th to 30th May’22, and our stay was truly memorable. The rooms were very nice and clean with adequately furnished. The location is also very near the main market, so everything is easily accessible. In all we would certainly like to go back and stay at this hotel whenever we have another trip to Leh. Highly recommended and true value for money.

Tsokar Retreat is a boutique, quaint, elegant hotel in Leh. Located about 7 min drive from the airport. This hotel has 21 large spacious luxury rooms. The bathrooms are large, clean and the shower has high pressure hot water options available 24 hrs. The room has AC and room heater as well.
The staff at the reception, house keeping and restaurant staff are polite and efficient.
Over experience was very relaxed, comfortable and great value for money.

My husband and I stayed at the Tsokar Retreat for a total of 4 days during our trip to Ladakh. The backyard garden that this hotel has is a delight to be in. They have many apple and apricot trees and wide variety of colourful and vibrant flowers. A special mention about the receptionist Sanjay Thakur (Sanju) who was very considerate and took personal care of us when we were in desperate need of oxygen due to AMS on the first day of our arrival. He stayed with us until close to midnight to administer the oxygen and also to monitor our health conditions. After every trip of ours, during our stay in the hotel, he would genuinely enquire about our health. The food was very tasty and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Keep up the great hospitality Team Tsokar Retreat!!

I stayed at Tsokar Retreat when I joined Ladakh Marathon with my running team members. The hotel staff was very supportive so that we could join the race comfortably, such as they prepared and served breakfast quite early morning for runners. I recommend my friends stay at Tsokar Retreat when they visit Leh and Ladakh!

Excellent location, awesome staff and great food and hospitality. Sanju- the manager will help arrange everything including local travel, sightseeing and even Oxygen cylinder in case someone gets Mountain sickness. He is a godsend. Excellent hotel in Leh, well located within walking distance of the center of Leh. Spacious confortable rooms. Nice small garden to enjoy daytime sunshine. More importantly the owner/manager has been of enormous help and support for one of us who got altitude sickness, making hourly visits to help her. We stayed a total of 3 nights @ Tsokar Retreat & it is one of the best hotels in Leh. You need a hotel like Tsokar to acclimatize before a Ladakh trip & also to relax after the strenuous trip. The rooms are well equipped & ample space to add an extra bed. The restaurant is well furnished with inside & garden sitting. The sofas in the restaurant can be a little higher...too low for the table. They serve tasty fare for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The staff are very attentive & ever ready to help. The reception area is large enough to meet or wait for people. Very close to the shopping area & main Market Street. The owner is a very pleasant gentleman.
