Well placed in the city. Rooms were good. Food quality was also good. Best part was the hospitality which was excellent. Each and every staff were eager to go one extra step to ensure that guests were happy. The youngest member of our group fell sick due to high altitude and hotel authority provided superb support in calling doctor and arranging for oxygen cylinder very late evening. We were touched.

My family recently stayed at the grand willow hotel. We were put up there by Cox and Kings tours. It was a bit of a let down. The hotel looks outdated, the sheets and towels were not always clean/fresh and often had stains. The heater was only turned on in the evening and shut by the time we woke up in the morning. Hot water is also available only at certain times, and is often not enough for everyone. Food was also about average.
However, the staff of this hotel was wonderful. They accommodated our every request to the best of their abilities and the limitations of the resources available in Leh. They were polite, engaging and very very helpful. We were very well looked after.
It is well located - near the market in Leh. It is also walking distance from some nice restaurant (Gesmo, Chopsticks) and from general stores.
I would not recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a luxury/semi-luxury experience. However, it is an okay option for budget hotels in Leh.

I stayed in this hotel as part of Makemytrip package. Room was OK. Staff was moody. Sometime they will serve you nicely and sometime they will ignore you as you do not exist. Food was average and service was ok. Hot water was available at very limited times and many times we need to use cold water.

Since it was part of package trip, I can not comment the value for money. It was average experience and I suggest people to keep price in mind while taking call on service levels.

Overall a good budget hotel near the center. The staff is friendly. I liked the food at the hotel. When we were looking for accommodation, we looked at nearby hotels, this one had better value for money. Not all rooms have internet access, but we were given a choice of a room with good Wi-Fi.

The location is central, the breakfast is below par.The hot water is available only between 6.30am to 8.30am. No power backup, but this is case with all the hotels nearby(my guess). We went there at the last leg of out trip. Food is costly,we had dinner and mind u it was not worth it.

We traveled from Srinagar to Leh in last week of July. We'd booked the hotel in advance and the check in process was smooth. Staff was helpful and courteous.
Rooms were pretty basic but decent enough as most of the time was to be spent travelling in and around leh. Couple of things about the rooms though
1) Lighting was very dim
2) Bathrooms were not up to the mark (no Jets ;). Although hot water was present all the time.

Wifi is free but not very fast though it is more than adequate coz on a vacation you should not be needing it much. Food was OK. The breakfast buffet did not have much options and dinner buffet was adequate of both veg and non-veg varieties. Though in the evenings, the options for snacking were limited. They only prepare veg sandwich and pakoda it seems in the evening. All in all, food was above average but nothing spectacular.

One of the advantages of the hotel is the location. Its located on the fort road which has a very decent market to collect local souvenir. The other plus is the German bakery Gesmo located nearby (a walk of mere 2 minutes). Serves excellent food and has very cross cultural feel.

Hotel is recommended if you are on budget.

We stayed in the Deluxe room of the Grand Willow hotel.Though the food was mediocre, the staff was very friendly and ensured that we had a comfortable stay throughout. The place is very much near the Leh market, so you ave a lot of food options in case you do not like the meals here. The rooms were cozy, extra blankets were provided, hot water was brought in when demanded. The next time that i go to Leh i will surely choose to stay in this very hotel.

It was a little family vacation through Air India that we were here for. We were already told about not expecting too much in Ladakh pertaining to technology or luxury and since I had the "Bring it on!" ideology in my mind, I was actually really happy with the hotel. The rooms were mediocre with a TV in every room. We stayed at the standard room for four days and the deluxe room for the fifth when Air India decided to cancel the flight back home. Tch. I would recommend the deluxe rooms because the bathrooms were actually pretty good there and so was the bed as opposed to the often dusty looking bedsheets we had in the standard room. The best part however was the staff. The staff was wonderful and friendly which made the hotel atmosphere very warm and welcoming. Anything you need, they were happy to pick your calls and get you the pettiest of things.
I think Grand Willow is a good choice if you are simply planning to stay at the hotel a small part of the day. Did I mention the food here is great and homely? ^^

This hotel was arranged by makemytrip for a 4 day tour. Its location is convenient, as it is hardly 10 mins walking from the main Leh market and hardly 15 mins drive from the airport. The road is right outside the main gate.

It is only 2 stories high (Ground + 2) and has no elevators. Although climbing even 2 stories at such an altitude can be taxing due to lack of oxygen.

The rooms had ok space and were pretty comfortable. Clean bathrooms. It looked like a new hotel.

Restaurant was ok. Not that big but sufficient. Although the food quality for us "prepaid travellers" was bad. Their a-la-carte customers were treated to better quality food till we complained. They do take about 2 hours to prepare meals so advance order is necessary.

Room service was ok. No repeat reminders were requires, although they did charge some amount over the bill if food or tea was ordered in rooms.

This is not a high end hotel, but a good standard one.

The worst hotel. Room services are poor. Telephone was not working. Basic amenities are not provided in the room. On complaint, manager answers rudely and threateningly. Totally uncomfortable and avoidable.
