This is our 1st trip to Ladakh and Leh was our 1st stop to both acclimatise and see the nearby places of interest. We chose The Maitreya hotel based on reviews on Tripadvisor and MakeMyTrip. But what we experienced was way better than our expectations. The view from my room was awesome. We could see the snow capped mountains and the Leh palace from our window a. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We suffered from mountain sickness and the staff helped us to recover well. We opted for the American plan and the staff at the restaurant was great and the food was delicious. I would like to specially thank the following staff in the hotel Tikaram, Milan and Puran in the restaurant who was always looked after us. Prepared a special soup for my daughter when she was unable to eat anything due to her sickness. And finally the manger Mr. Dorjay who can be credited with the recruitment and guidance to create such a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. He is very kind and also one of the most caring people I have come across in the hospitality industry. I wish everyone the very best and would highly recommend this hotel.…

The front desk manager and restaurant staff are very eager to please and do their best to ensure guests are well taken care of. The owner lives nearby and is such a caring & humble man. He comes by and mingles with the guests and is just so sweet. As is with most hotels in Leh, hot water comes only during certain hours in the morning. I also noticed that the individuals responsible for stocking the rooms, need some reminding of basic things - like refilling TP, providing adequate number of towels, clearing out room service plates/food, etc. Overall had a good experience, and would recommend this place for the price point.

It was a wonderful experience for all of us. All your arrangements were up to the mark for our 15 days trip in Ladakh. We never felt we were away from home and travelling at a higher altitude. All homestays and transportation arrangements were excellent. We faced some health issues in Hanle but you handled it swiftly and efficiently. Thanks for your support and prompt response. Special thanks to Sarathi of our tour – Chitta Dorjey was very cooperative, polite and friendly. His driving skills were excellent and safe. In addition, he was well travelled and well informed with knowledge of birds in Ladakh. We have seen some rare species with his guidance. We look forward to collaborating with you in future. Rooms are good. Stayed there from 13 to 15 July2022. Food is good. Staff is very polite and decent. Manager and all staff members are very cooperative. You can book this hotel without any hesitation. This hotel is run by a family. Will recommend to all who want to stay in Leh. KKPathak Mumbai

It was a wonderful stay with friends on our trip to Leh and Ladakh. Excellent facilities backed up a great team. Kudos to Kishen Sharma and his team who manage the dining and serve great food with a big smile. Kishen has words of advise for travel as the journey can get tough. A good place to stay and enjoy the scenic beauty of Leh.

Stayed in first week of September, located in the heart of the city, the market was just 1 km away, the rooms are very clean, the best food I had in Ladakh, stayed there for 4 days, front fore court was very good, lot of varieties in the food the staff was very helpful, especially Dorje who was always willing to help, he also arranged the gas cylinder for us for Pangong, only issue was sometimes foul smell of kerosene used for boiling the water in the forecourt, otherwise will like to stay again.

I always feel that spending lavishly on hotel while in transit is not important, the hotel with good facilities should do. The hotel is having all possible facilities, spacious rooms & reasonable good food. The hygiene in hotel is but issue service is bit slow but the person at reception is too cooperative. He is ready with all possible consultancy right from acclimatization to roam around places. The hotel entry from road look like going to don't know place but inside its a big place. The only issue I find is continuing diesel smell outside which irritates you when you already are struggling with less oxygen. May be its one time problem when we were there. Do consider for your stay but don't expect big hotels luxury I stay & food.
