The restaurant staff is extremely rude especially towards domestic tourists. We were in Leh for 5 days and we had a very good time at a well known guest house just opposite to this property. Since we planned to extend our stay and due to unavailability of rooms there we chose to stay here.

The hotel looked pretty neat from the outside but thats about it. The room given to us was on the ground floor. The bed sheets were stained, the towels discolored and the carpets torn. Disappointment turned to anger next morning when we went to the restaurant to have breakfast.  One of the waiters wanted us to sit in a particular corner of the restaurant so that we couldnt interrupt his service to his preferred and probably well tipping guests.  After an argument broke out the management intervened.  But they just whisked the waiter away without offering any kind of explanation or apology about the incident.  That was extremely unprofessional and it left us fuming. We checked out immediately.

I obviously would not recommend this hotel not just considering the incident that occurred but also that you can pay much less and get better rooms and service in Leh.

The staff is excellent very efficient and courteous. Rooms are big, clean and well appointed. The food has variety and is always served with a smile. The location is very convenient, near from the main market and not very far from the airport

We stayed in Hotel Holiday Ladakh for 5 nights. It is on the old fort road at just 10 mins walk from the market.
Here's a quick summary

+ Friendly staff
+ Awesome location
+ Clean rooms and linen
+ Outstanding food options nearby - the Mountain Delight/ The Tibetan kitchen/ Monalisa ( all at a 10-mins walk)

- Issues with the hot water supply
- poor ventilation in rooms on the ground floor/ no view ( Avoid them)
- Average food- Not much options in the breakfast/dinner buffet
- wifi connectivity is not good in the rooms. Works fine near the reception

This was our second hotel where we stayed during our visit to leh, check in was smooth. However, disappointed to know that the hotel is not providing any freebies like mineral bottel, no toliatiries. Rooms are small, the view from my Room was ok. Food needs improvement, same taste in all the items ( very less choices). overall i can say it is a budget hotel. May be i am little biased because earlier i had stayed at larisa resort for two days.

Stayed here in August 2013 during a 4-week trip to Northern India and Ladakh.

The start was unfortunately not good at all as we had booked 2 rooms but only 1 was reserved when we arrived, even though I had countless phone calls and email conversations with Mr Norboo to confirm 2 rooms.

We were supposed to stay in Hotel Holiday for 5 nights, then go to Nubra valley for 3 nights, and return to Hotel Holiday for another 4 nights.

However, Mr Wengdu, the Hotel Manager I believe, admitted the error and went to great lengths to get us a different accommodation for the same price (price of the other location was actually higher) for the first 5 nights in Leh and managed to get 2 rooms for us after our return from Nubra valley.

Over and above that, Mr Wengdu was extremely helpful in organizing a driver and car as well as permits for Nubra valley and provide valuable hints and suggestions for our itinerary.

Hot water and electricity is, with interruptions, avialable most of the day, food is ok, nothing special, but you can walk (after acclimatisation!!!) or take a cab to the main market area or one of the other restaurants (try Tibetean Kitchen for tandoori), Hotel can also arrange for a drop.

Ask for rooms on higher floor facing front, but, as usual, ask to see the roms before you commit as some rooms have full-size windows facing a shared "balcony"/walkway. Outdoor sitiing is very nice, esp. at night for star gazing.

Thanks to Mr Wengdu the "bad start" was turned into an unforgettable and enjoyable holiday.

Actually 5 Stars, if it wasn't for the initial mistake

The first impression of this hotel is its beautiful structure and uniformed hotel staff and nice seatings on both floors. Makes one believe that this is a premium property. But it goes down hill from there.
We were given a room that had the luggage of some other guests. That luggage was left outside our door for the next 24 hours. The room was decent but had minor flaws. the double bed is 2 single beds joint together and one's best efforts cannot prevent a 1 inch gap between the 2 beds. There are exactly 4 plug points in the room, 3 of which are dedicated to the TV and the fridge. SO if you want to charge your phones and watch TV at the same time, good luck with that. Despite all the uniformed staff and a big dining area, there is no room service and the spread for lunch and dinner is restricted to 5 dishes each. Food is quite good to taste though.
The Generator is run only between 6 am and 1 pm and then again from 6 pm to 1 am. No amount of inconvenience that causes to the guest is considered. WiFi signal is very weak and doesnt go further than the reception. Billing is also a mess, they suddenly realised that we were incorrectly informed that we have a CP and had to charge us for all the breakfasts we had there.
There are far better hotels available at much lower costs and better location. This one should be given a miss.

I stayed here on three occasions in August / September 2012 when I was biking in Ladakh and the Zanskar. The first room I had (booked through an online travel site) was on the ground floor and, while it was spacious it could have been a bit lighter.

On the second time and third time I stayed I had rooms on the first floor, which has a sunny terrace. These rooms were much nicer and one was a suite. Both were clean and comfortable.

I left gear here (a bike box and a travel bag) between stays, which was really helpful. Staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful.

There were real problems with electricity and internet connections when I was in Leh. The internet connection had been down for 5 days when I got back from the Zanskar. Many businesses, including internet cafes, have their own generators so power outages one their own aren't a problem. A general internet outage is a different story.

One small gripe about the hotel is that on a couple of occasions there was no hot water in the shower. Annoying but not terminal.

A nice hotel, and the night guy is a sweet heart. I could not stay there because the hotel was full, and in fact it was expensive anyway, where you get MUCH cheaper options if you walk a little more up or down the market. But, I had two couples of friends staying, and they were very happy, they did not want to change with my hotel even if cheaper. There was a very familiar atmosphere in the time I spent there, and the reception guy brought me in town with his bike to avoid me walking alone at night!! Very recommended!
