Detailed Reviews
Have just come back from a four day trip to Ladakh which was planned for us by Stanzin Sonam the owner of the hotel. We had reached out to him after checking the reviews of the hotel online and he was very prompt, courteous and helpful during our entire stay. We were originally scheduled to cover Nubra and Pangong too the bookings for which were also done by Stanzin but had to return midway because my friend and travelling partner got sick with AMS. We were charged only for the days that we had stayed and all the other future bookings were cancelled at no charge to us.
What all travelers going to Ladakh must be aware of in any of their interactions with the businesses there is that they are very professional, whatever is committed as a part of the package will be delivered to the best of their ability but any requests for extras are likely to cost you more money than expected.
The Kaal hotel is a decent, clean property located very near to the airport. The housekeeping staff is good and polite but the restaurant staff is rude and unprofessional. The quality of the food though was decent all the three days that we were there.
I would like to request Stanzin to focus on the overall demeaner and service of the restaurant staff as that seems to be the weakest link in the chain.

As a person travelling for the first time to Leh, I was looking for a well located, Traditional and affordable place to stay. The Kaal ticked all the boxes for me and the staff was so kind and helpful. Shoutout to Mr. Rigzin at the front desk...Super helpful. He arranged all the local conveyance and organized various excursions to different parts of leh and neighbouring places. The rest of the staff was kind and very hospitable aswell.
As far as the rooms go, I am a traveller who always checks the condition of the toilet first. They were slick and span, the linen was fresh and beds were comfortable. I admired the architecture of the building in all its traditional glory with intricate woodwork. Overall the hotel is well maintained and clean. All covid precautions were followed throughout my stay.
In sum, The kaal is a wonderful place to stay and might I say the best in town from what I saw on my 1 week stay in Leh! Thank you to the team at the Kaal

We stayed at this hotel from the 17th - 23rd of July and I am pleased to share my amazing experience during the stay.
They gave us a warm traditional welcome.
Management team - Mr. Stanzin and Mr. Rigzin was kind enough to allot us the room of my choice with a balcony view although the hotel was running on high occupancy.
Buffet breakfast was amazing which covers almost everything you would want to have for breakfast, Restaurant staff supported us and addressed all our requests.
Room service, Cleanliness, and Support staff were all hard-working and generous enough to resolve any issues we have on priority.
Many thanks to The Kaal hotel Leh team for all your support and superb hospitality.

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the airport in a quiet part of town. The rooms are traditional style. The food served at the restaurant is mainly north Indian and indian Chinese.
Pros:
1. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. As is the gentleman in the restaurant. It is these 2 individuals that made the stay bearable.
Cons:
1. FILTHY. This hotel is absolutely dirty. I don't know whether they were short staffed or whatever, but no establishment can allow itself to not be clean.
The bathrooms were a mess.
The room had not been swept or mopped for weeks.
Walking around the room would make one sick.
2. The restaurant would not only take forever with the orders, it didn't feel clean at all. Their plates were often wet and the cutlery was never clean.
What a shame that a decently built hotel has lost its game for the lack of cleanliness. Do not stay here at all.

Recently visited Leh with my family. I had a great experience staying at The Kaal. Since it was a last moment plan, I was having difficulty finding a bike and a car for sight seeing. During that time, the manager and the owner himself tried their best and despite so much rush at Leh when everyone was finding it difficult to arrange any vehicle, the manager and the owner were able to find us a bike and a tempo traveler and also arranged for all the inner line permits as well the oxygen cylinders. So overall, it was a wonderful experience. As far as food is concerned, food at the restaurant is really good especially the North Indian and the desi chinese cuisines.

A family trip which was an unforgettable trip to leh . We booked our tour via Thomas cook as the Kaal is partnered with them.
They planned a customized 6 night / 7 days and we had a great stay. The first night we were advised to stay in the hotel as we need to acclimatize to the altitude. We spent the day at hotels garden. The next 5 days we were hustling and bustling in and around leh to cover all the tourist places , the food at the hotel in leh, Nubra and Pangong had a good spread and they made sure we were served on the table as we were pure vegetarians. We thank the hotels for catering to our customized itineraries.
The experience has made us to visit again and we will be back to leh for another trip. Hope fully soon :)

the hotel is 3 kms from the main market so not a very attractive location. We had booked it for 3k a night so it wasn’t that bad. But otherwise this property is not at all worth it! The dinner took 1 hour to come, the tiles and windows of the room were broken. Instead of a king size bed they gave 2 small beds which made the sleeping experience pathetic! They don’t even have towels and kept on blaming the customers for every inefficiency on their end! A BIG NO for the property even if it’s free of cost! The wifi doesn’t work nor does the room heater work!

Enjoyed an excellent 4 night stay at The Kaal in Leh. The hotel has well appointed modern rooms with attached balcony, which are well maintained, and their restaurant has a great choice of food selection including great North Indian food.
The owner Stanzin was very helpful and informative and organised an excellent sightseeing tour for us to Hemis and Thiksey monasteries which were a day well spent, with a very scenic drive to the destination. Highly recommend this property for vacation travellers staying in Leh.

I recently stayed at the the kaal Hotel, and it was an experience I won't forget anytime soon. From the minute I checked in to the moment I left, I was impressed by the staff's friendliness, cleanliness, and attention to detail. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the decor was modern and thoughtfully curated. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The beds were cozy, and the linens were of high quality. The hotel's restaurant served delicious meals, and the waitstaff was attentive and accommodating. The hotel's amenities exceeded my expectations. The fitness center was well-equipped, and the pool was crystal clear and refreshing. The hotel's location was ideal for exploring the city, and the views of the surrounding hills were breathtaking. The hotel's staff was exceptional, and I was impressed by their professionalism and kindness. I would recommend the kaal Hotel to anyone looking for a high-quality hotel experience. Thank you, the kaal hotel , for an exceptional stay.
