The hotel has all the amenities you can ask of a 5-star hotel, given its remote location in Ladakh. The rooms are great, the breakfast is top-notch, and the views are also decent. However, there was no personal touch to their service. We had made 2 requests to the staff which were promptly denied. One was checkout delayed by 1 hour, and the second was shuttle service to the market. It wasn't just that the requests were denied, but the manner in which they were denied too. All in all, it's a good 5-star hotel, but probably not worth the 15k price tag.
The rooms are nice and the general feel of the hotel is great, however we encountered issues on Transfer of funds, doctor unavailability and breakfast not being served in the room. My daughter was sick and we were told that the doctor will com in an hour, we however waited for 4 hours with no sight of the doctor and eventually had to go to the Hospital. Also when asked for Oxygen, we were given only half filled cylinder and they refused to provide another at the first instance, only after multiple requests they provided the additional cylinder.
Best Hotel to stay in Leh with outstanding food. We took a package from Majid for 8 days and all the hotels , travel etc they arranged. All stays including Nubra , Ule and pangong were amazing. Majid helped us with all details and was very nice.
Fantastic property, tastefully decorated rooms and lobby and very well kept. Hotel staff is polite and helpful. The food is very good and one of the few locations in Leh to find a good non vegetarian options. The only negative is that this hotel does not serve alcohol. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Leh.
We spent a total of 4 nights at the hotel, and had a super stay. What was apparent was how welcoming and warm the staff were. From the doorman to the owners, there was a clear culture of going out of their way to ensure customers are happy. The place is surrounded by beautiful views, and the concierge team was able to guide us on a few excursions. They also do picnics by the river, something we didn't have time for, but it looked amazing. Be careful about acclimatisation. Luckily the hotel had given us the option to take a Diamox pill before coming, and I think that really helped.
Excellent hotel in Leh House Keeping / Linens very good - stands up to Taj standards Unfortunately the Local cuisine was not a viable as the Local Chefs were on a Holiday - so we opted to have dinner @ The Tibetan Kitchen. We came back for desserts - Tiramisu and Molten Lava cake was just fantastic Breakfast spread was good. For sure next stay can be again be @ The Grand Dragon
*Visiting Leh..? Stay at The Grand Dragon..* My visit with my family to Leh was an amazing experience which was doubled while staying at The Grand Dragon. Simply Fantastic & unique stay. The Hotel is beautifully designed with artistic touch and maintained superbly by Mr. Mustafa & family. Meeting Mustafa & his brother Mr. Mohuidinn was a great learning experience and knowing them and their contributions towards building Ladakh as one of the favourite tourist destinations. I must thank senior sales manager of the hotel for arranging the meeting with these two amazing individuals. The staff and service were just superb. Very accommodative hotel and courteous staff. Food was delicious and it adds to the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Leh and seeking to enjoy a GRAND experience. Recommendations: Checkout time should be atleast 12:00 PM Breakfast time limit which is kept 10:30 AM should be extended to 11:00 AM to make it convenient for the travellers/trekkers who are tired of the sight seeing/trekking etc.🌷…
We visited here on our 1st marraige anniversary. I have never experience such an amazing hospitality and cheerful welcome. We stayed for 3 nights in this luxury property. Buffet Food , View, Room every single thing was amazing and worth it. I highly recommend to stay here for atleast 1 night if you are planning to visit leh.
We were a group of 11 people from Mumbai and Pune and had stayed at The Grand Dragon in Leh in July 22. Ms Tashi and Mr Ramzan provided a seamless booking process and helped planning the trip in peak season . I personally fell sick due to altitude at 3.30 am on the third day . The front office arranged a car to take me to hospital within 10 mins of my calling . Arif the driver was God sent . He didn’t leave my side at the hospital and was running around to buy my medicines and talk to the dr etc .he was like my relative in the middle of Leh ! The flight from Leh to Delhi was cancelled thrice due to bad weather . Ramzan managed to send cars within minutes to return from the airport and Tashi managed to get rooms again for us in absolutely sold out hotel . The support and care received from all at Grand Dragon is something you would require with the destination that it is and I couldn’t recommend The Grand Dragon enough ! They were outstanding !! Thank you once again .…
The Grand Dragon, sparkling jewel in snowcapped mountain range of the mighty Himalaya’s range in Leh encompassed with unobstructed view to Hemis national park and Shanti Stupa, make their valuable guests indulge in true hospitality and I too with my family has had an opportunity to experience such a wonderful cosy and cheerful welcome. By availing this moment would like to emphasize the unequivocal care, support and patience extended, since from the day one of communication initiated with the property until the day of checkout and even surprisingly his recent email assuring of boundless hospitality in our future visit, their senior reservation manager Mr. Abdul Majeed and for rendered support and co-operation would like to express our profound gratitude to him. The itinerary, impeccably defined made our weeklong stay filled with full of enjoyment and thrills. Furthermore, the sumptuous buffet foods displayed whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I am sure would savoured every guests with delight. Further, collectively the other department like house-keeping , room services are truly excellent in discharging their responsibilities, which have been obviously illustrated. Let the spirit continue while wishing all the best to The Grand Dragon to thrive.…
