Stayed with family in all 3 rooms. Owner's family was providing all necessary assistance day n night. They were always available on call and also advised about other facilities also. Try to book thru net after searching reviews. BUT BEWARE OF FRAUD TRAVEL AGENTS like FAYAZ of PATTAN who was managing taxi for sight seeing etc for us and always busy in looting us all the times charging twice of normal charges. J&K police does not help you too against such goondas, they too are n nexus. Just rely on your houseboat management. for local help.

I stayed with my family for one night in mid sep, I stayed in the suite, the best thing I loved about this house bot is its location if you are looking for a peaceful kind of location and want to avoid clutter of houseboat the this one is to be chosen,,and on top of it this house boat has two gems , Sahid and irfaan,,,houseboat guys,, they were extremely good nature lads ,, very helpful and readily available at one ring of bell,,,the food was just ok, but on hospitality it was great,,one tip make sure u go for MAP if u don't want to cross over lake for ur meals,,and in case u order an extra items omelete etc in brkfast they will charge u xtra.. To begin with, I booked this houseboat after reading TripAdvisor reviews. I wasn't let down. Mr Khan Kashi and his team of old but trusted lieutenants like Hussian and Old Chacha lived up to every word of their reputation. We felt as if we were at home. The houseboat is in a part of the Dal lake known as Open Dal lake. Since the patio faces west, the sunset views are awesome. The rooms are very clean. Food is lip-smacking. Service is prompt and courteous. Old Chacha served us awesome Kashmiri Kahwa whenever we felt like having it. We will come again and again...

i had been in texas houseboat last week. the owner was fantastic and very helpfull with all our needs. The boat is the only white red and blue boat, with a beautiful garden and water from the right side, it is located in a quite area, far from the road... it is a timeless photograph of the 60.
