First, the only issue we faced was that the place does not have a full time working restaurant so could be a bit of a problem when travelling with kids. Only buffet options available for all meals which we understand is because of few number of people. While we appreciate hotel limitations we found the food very expensive. That said, food was quite sumptuous. This is boutique luxury hotel, originally a bungalow converted to a hotel a long back. Other than above everything else was superb. Be it the location of the hotel, right on Nigeen lake, where you can step directly into a shikara from the hotel lawn. Or be it the property itself. Full of collectibles, and worth the clicks. Lot of open space with drawing rooms and common balconies well furnished and very well decorated.…
Using this amazing hotel as a base we spent eight days in Srinagar visiting Gulmarg and Sonmarg in between. The setting is outstanding. Imagine this: a huge, verdant lawn encircled by the most beautiful flowers and all this on the edge of Nagin Lake. The garden is the pride and joy of the owner, he tends to each plant lovingly. Just sit on the lawn, and drink kahwa or step off the lawn and onto a shikara for a lazy ride around the lake. The rooms are perfect. The housekeeping spot on. Television, air conditioning, heating and comfortable beds. Dar Es Salaam really excels. The Hussain family who own the hotel are amazing. Their warmth and hospitality is second to none. The staff also outstanding. Mr. Hameed, Imtiaz, Shabbir and Abul, take a bow. The food... far too much!…
The location coupled with a beautiful garden makes for an oasis of peace and quiet in the middle of bustling Srinagar. The service is fantastic and every single member of the staff goes out of their way to make your stay more comfortable. I had to leave early on the day of my checkout and they arranged for an early breakfast for me without a second thought. The food is delicious and a nice mix of local and western cuisines. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
I stayed for one night and it was a comfortable stay .. the staff was very helpful . Please don’t expect a five star luxury .. it’s an old home converted into very comfortable rooms .. it’s quaint, old fashioned and I loved it. The garden is lovely and it’s blooming right now ! People who are light sleepers might have an issue with birds chirping right outside your window post 5 am! The food options are also decent. It’s a limited menu but it’s sufficient.
This property is an old Mughal style bungalow converted into a boutique hotel. It hosts only 14 beautifully decored rooms well equipped furniture. Rooms are extremely clean. The bungalow has an excellent garden lawn with beautiful flowers and overlooking the Nigeen lake. One can spend endless time in the green lawn and end up doing absolutely nothing :) The staff is really amazing, multi-tasking and multi-roleplaying at their best. The same staff is at the reception greeting you courteously, and the same people change roles and are available into the dining room helping you with delicious local food. Undoubtedly the best hotel in Srinagar with everything to die for ! Very peaceful, very relaxing. Would love to visit again. One more touching part about this one is that the…
