The place is out of a fairytale, unlike the other areas of srinagar it is peaceful, quite, clean and gives you a first hand experience at the daily life's of the locals on the nigeen lake. Views from the room are just breathtaking. The staff is extremely hospitable and goes miles to ensure all your needs are well taken care off... A special mention to Mr Khurram who accommodated us right away even after a change in our travel dates. It has been such a wonderful experience, we would definitely be back with our entire family !

This is a heritage bungalow, converted by the family into a hotel, with a limited number of well appointed rooms, each with ensuite bathrooms and all the facilities of a regular modern hotel.
What Hotel Dar es salaam has MORE, MUCH MORE than any regular hotel, is lush flower filled gardens, relaxed seating under a Chinar tree, the whole Nageen lake at the end of the garden, a shikara waiting to take you to Dal Lake, food to die for - each meal was delicious, well balanced, with accent on Kashmiri cuisine.
Plus, a huge plus for us, because we had our 80yr old mother with us, was the professional, polite, kind, accommodating staff, who pampered her as no staff from a 'modern' hotel would have!
Kudos to the owner Khurram Hussain, for putting together a charming, old worldly, yet professional holiday experience for us.
We, of course, intend to return a few more times to heavenly heavenly Kashmir.

Its a rich man's villa on Nigeen Lake converted to a botique hotel. Tastefully done up, with about 12-14 rooms and a beautiful location, this hotel has my heart. It feels like home, not a hotel.

The big lawn is a delight to sit in at sunset and sunrise.

Staff is nice and friendly.

Food is quite good, though slightly on the expensive side (esp the dinner buffet).

Rooms decor is acceptable, though not newly furnished, they are clean. Bathroom is clean and reasonable sized. Taps and faucets are not latest, hence water flow was slow at times. But hot water is available in plenty.

The hotel feels safe and feels like home.

Look forward to staying here again soon!

The location of the property is its biggest plus. The shikara ride from the hotel itself was quite beautiful. its garden is nice and well maintained. The food really need to improve both in variety and quality. On top of that we had to go for the fixed menu as they did not allow us to order a la carte. We were a group of 6 with elderly parents so was not possible to take them out again in the night and we ended up paying quite a bit for the food.

We stayed at the property for 2 nights recently. The property is no doubt very good. Good rooms and location, great food. But the staff's attitude really put us off majorly. You cannot call for food from outside. You have to eat whatever they have for dinner whether you like it or not.And they give only 1 Litre of Mineral water per room per day. If you ask for more, they charge you steeply for that.It was like we were staying in a school hostel. They were rude and non co-operative. They would lock the Hotel at 10 PM. Entire staff would leave the hotel by 10:45 PM. There was no one to attend to us after that. I would never go back to this property.

We had a very smooth booking experience with Dar es Salam during which they guided us to plan our entire Kashmir trip well, a highly appreciated feat. The hotel is very cosy and quaint. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The entire hotel including our room was warm, only the attached bathroom didn’t have a heater which made it slightly discomforting in there. Room service was quite prompt. Quality of food was very good and light on the stomach. The only turn off was the breakfast timing which started at 8:30am, considering many will want to start early for sightseeing this timing doesn’t work at all. Otherwise it was a great experience staying at Dar es Salam.

It is a beautiful property on banks of Nigeen lake. You can hail your shikara from their tiny dock and it is such an awesome vibe.
The decor of the property is BEAUTIFUL the ceiling the artefacts the decor, every thing is amazing.
The food is really lovely, though not too much of a variety in breakfast buffet.

I definitely recommend staying here .

if your bedding is too soft and you wish it to change, just request the house keeping to remove the comforter from the mattress.

We stayed at this lovely property in October. The property is an old bungalow converted into a boutique stay. It has an amazing lawn which I believe was better kept than the Mughal gardens. The interiors are done up in a regal way and aesthetically. The view from the resort is the beautiful calm and placid Nigeen lake.
Rooms are comfortable, we stayed at the one on first floor. There are ample spaces to sit with a cup of kahwa and a book.
The food is served lovingly and is delicious.
The breakfast spread was good as was the dinner. They included a few Kashmiri dishes which made the experience great.
It is located right at Nigeen lake and you can take a Shikara ride anytime by just informing the desk a few mins before.
