Great aesthetic boathouse stay providing a unique experience whole staying in Srinigar. You get taken to the boathouse by shikara, providing a nice view of the lake and a unique experience. Staff are friendly, and the food was excellent 😇

Pathetic night it was. We were 3 couples with 3 children. Entire night we couldn't sleep cos of the fear. The boy named Imran scared the children, misbehaved with us. We thought he might just shoot us as he looked psycho. There were sales people coming in with things out of no where and sitting in the common area without permission making us uncomfortable. Food was bad, rotis were half cooked, rice was burnt. We were so scared that we checked out at 9:30 am without having breakfast and taking bath. There was no light 3 hrs in evening n 3 hrs early morning because of which heater was not working. Beds were stinking. We couldn't sleep the entire night out of fear. I have earlier stayed on a houseboat in dal lake and that was Excellent.

First trip to Kashmir, first time on one of the famous wooden houseboats (Wangnoo Sheraton). Unique atmospehere directly on the Nigin Lake including breakfast, dinner - and houskeeper Bashir. Excursion by boat and/or car to wonderful Mogul gardens, the astonishing swimming fields on the lake and old Srinaga with a very friendly scout. Return with beautiful souvenirs (Safran, Pashmina shorts and paper work boxes). Five intense days with wonderful people in an inspiring landscape!

Very Sub-par experience for us..better stay in a hotel where proper heating is provided..these guys switched off heating from 10pm to 6am, and all of us were shivering the whole night! Food is also not as good as that provided at hotels..they claim to give a home-like experience, but I guess that's only an excuse to cut costs.

Beautiful houseboat located at Nagin lake...Nagin lake is less crowded and more serene than Dal lake...they have well mannered staff, always ready to help...would specially mention bilal bhai and siddique bhai who took good care of us..food too was nice and homey...overall wonderful experience!.. However would suggest to be a little vigilent if booking thru travel agencies as there could be other boats with the same name..

Lovely houseboat with all comforts and warm Kashmiri hospitality and delicious local food! I especially liked the beautiful interiors --Kashmiri carpets and curtains and learnt that the hosts have their own showroom and encourage local art and artisans. Must visit for carpets. Bashirji , the caretaker was caring. and the hosts -Habibullahji and Akram and Ibrahim-are warm and welcoming and a font of information on places to see, visit -also beyond Sringar. Shukriya and hope to be back

If you are looking for a heavenly spot on Srinagar, you will find it on one of the cozy Sheraton hous3boats with a wonderful view of Lake Nagin and the magnificent mountains. Excellent service and delicious food in an original atmosphere. Boat owner Habib Wangnoo also helps organize interesting walks and fantastic excursions as ell as visits to the family's carpet and Pashmina shop. It's definitly worth staying for more than just one or two nights (we were there for 5 wonderful days) to experience the beauty and uniqueness of the country and its people!!

This houseboat surpassed my expectations! It had walls of walnut wood with beautiful carvings throughout. There was a crystal chandelier in the living room, and the bedroom was stunning with gossamer drapes around the bed. We enjoyed sitting on the top deck watching the sunset and taking shikara rides through Dal Lake. This is a do not miss experience if you are in Kashmir.

Docked in Nigeen lake. Check in 12 noon. Check out 10 AM. The group has 8-10 house boats. We stayed in House Boat named Helal which belonged to super deluxe category Arrive at ghat 1 in Nigeen lake and take a complimentary Shikara transfer to the house boat on the opposite bank. Transfer takes around 10 minutes Owner welcomes you and shows you around the house boat. Four rooms with one suite room (single room only). Suite room has a poster bed surrounded by curtains. Two sofas with bed in between, one in either side of bed so one person can not look at the other while seated. Rooms other than the suite room have one single and one double bed but no chairs or sofas to sit. Both persons sleeping in double bed have to get down from one side only. Rooms are of moderate size and bath area is also spacious. Bath tub is available for bathing and toiletries include one small soap, and small bottles of shampoo. There are frequent power cuts in the morning, afternoon and night so life can be difficult during hot summer. During power cuts they only provide a UPS based pedestal fan in each room. Geyser doesn't work in the morning due to power cut till 8 AM One can overhear the guests in the next room and also guests in the adjoining house boat. Small sofa seating is available in the front, facing the lake. There is a living room at the entry with a TV, and a small library and sofa seating. It is common to all the guests staying in the houseboat. Dining room is common to all guests staying in the houseboat. Buffet breakfast and dinner is served here. Breakfast and dinner is part of the package. Tea/Kahwa is provided on arrival and at other times on request. Sun deck on top with sofa seating is overlooking the lake and is very pleasant in the evenings. Bring your own sweetener if you are diabetic because it is not available on the houseboat. Mr Bilal is the resident caretaker and shares his cell number for 24 hour help. Dinner includes two vegetables, one paneer dish, dal, and one chicken dish with rotis and rice. Breakfast includes poha, chana poori, omelette etc Taste of the food is good. Two small bottles of mineral water are provided in each room, extra bottle is charged. You can bring your own water and put it in the fridge in the dining room. Corridors can be noisy if there are young children as they run through the corridors. There was a small garden outside the houseboat. Smoking is not allowed inside the houseboat. They can arrange a Shikara ride in the lake at a price. They have Shikaras that are rowed manually or motorized. Return Shikara drop to Ghat 1 is also complimentary One night stay is enough for a different experience.
