The room is very basic and food served was really bad (the worst that I got during my travel). During off peak season, they would not even turn on automatic power backup and geyser citing low occupancy. We realised that we are in wrong place as soon as their was first blackout in the night. The hotel is clean through which deserves one star..
We stayed at Grand Plaza in the month of Feb 2015 though off season time, staff are very helpful and food were very good. Room are neat & clean and big enough. Recommendation for family who required one room (accommodate upto 4 to 5 member). Far from Dal lake and not near by local restaurant
We stayed in this Hotel in the last week of May 2014 though the hotel is not on the dal lake side it is clean with big rooms enough to accommodate a small family. Accommodation and Ambiance both above expectations. very good for a decent stay. Food provided was very good, service need little more improvement- Reception guys were very helpful. Over all the hotel is much better than so called 3 star hotels situated on the Dal lake road. Better value for Money
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights expecting it to be an above average hotel but my expectations were shattered . 1) Morning team is served by a common waiter who goes around with a big flask & serves tea .You need to pay cash at the same time . Never saw tea coming specially for our room. 2) Mostly tourist came in big groups managed by miscellaneous travel agents .Some would check in 2.30 in night . Some tours were preparing thier own food in hotel garden . 3) Our room was just above the car parking area .We were disturbed till late night as cars coming & going dropping tourists . It looked as if some marriage is taking place down with constant movement of vehicles & people chatting . 4) They will not serve breakfast before 8 Am .We had to go early one day & had to beg literally for early breakfast . 5) No hot water after 9 Am . I really felt like I was living in dharamshalla or a lodge . 6) This hotel in meant for masses & not for individual tourist who wants to relax after a tiring day . 7) Breakfast was average .Waiter were new & didnot know how to serve food properly. 8) We were so unsure of dinner that we ate dinner outside & reached hotel late just for sleeping . 9) Fare they charged was Rs 3500 /- per room .Rooms on the internet site look better as the curtains & bed cover were shown in sober color.Actual curtains are in red colour & with no bedcovers .They had that cheap , multicoloured chinese blankets as bed covers . Donot go for this hotel if you look for some personalised attention & service.…
I had visited Kashmir 25 years back for my honeymoon and had enjoyed my stay in the valley then, In order to celebrate the Sliver Jubilee of my marriage i once again decided to visit Srinagar this time with my 2 daughters. We stayed in Hotel Grand Plaza in Srinagar for 4 nights. The hotel is centrally located. The ambience of the hotel is very good, the entire staff of the hotel is very courteous and efficient. I would like to make a special mention of Mr. Mir Mubarik -General Manager of the hotel, he is very well behaved and very helpful to all the guest. We as a family enjoyed the hospitality extended to us by Mr. Mir Mubarik. I wish him and the Hotel Grand Plaza a great success.
