I had an absolutely delightful experience staying at Zaffer Boats. The rooms were exquisitely decorated, boasting a rich aesthetic that added a touch of elegance to my stay. The boat itself was impeccably maintained, providing a comfortable living space along with a stunning balcony that offered breathtaking views.
Throughout my visit, the staff member attending to our needs, displayed exceptional courtesy and proved to be immensely helpful. Their attentive service truly enhanced my stay and left a positive impression on me.
While my time on the balcony of the houseboat was undeniably pleasant, there were a few minor issues that detracted from an otherwise perfect experience. Firstly, the lighting in the room was insufficient, making it challenging to carry out tasks comfortably. Additionally, the washroom had malfunctioning light, which inconvenienced me during my stay.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that during the summer season, there is a possibility of power outages. Although an emergency backup system was provided, its capacity was notably limited, rendering it incapable of supporting the operation of a fan. I would suggest addressing this issue to ensure greater comfort for future guests.
In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Zaffer Boats and would gladly choose to stay there again in the future. I hope the management takes my feedback into consideration, as addressing the concerns I raised would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for guests.

We were a group of 5 friends with our families touring Kashmir. Stayed in a 5 bedded houseboat of Zaffer group for 1 night on 15th Oct 22. Since we were 5 family, we had the entire houseboat to ourselves. Booked the houseboat directly through their website after email communication and after paying 50% of total rent as advance and balance paid after staying. Booking was easy and theyvwere prompt in replying. Pros : The location of the houseboat is in Nigeen lake and not in touristy crowded Dal lake. The houseboat is nicely maintained, well decorated. The living room, seating area, deck etc. Very nice. We loved it. Rooms are small in size with good functional toilet. Atmosphere is very good. Cons : If you are driving your own car, parking is an issue cause the houseboats are situated on such a location that you have to board shikaras and cross the lake from the shikara jetty in Nigeen lake and that area doesn't have any parking place. Food is something which is included in the houseboat rate is not upto the mark. I would have given 5 stars if only food served was even decent. Both dinner and breakfast was way below par both in terms of spread and taste. Kashmiri food is awesome but the fare offered was drab and needs major improvement. If you plan to have an evening snacks with your drink, you will be disappointed as they don't serve any snacks even if you pay extra. So bring your wafers, peanuts etc. Beforehand. We had to request the guy available and managed to get a dish of chicken as snacks ( and it later turned out to be the same one they served us during dinner) Finally, no room heating so very cold inside even during shoulder season.

We were a group of 14 from a family who stayed 2 nights at Zaffer house boats in June first week. We loved the accommodation thoroughly . It was simply premium with tastefully decorated rooms which were extremely clean. Since we had two houseboats, we had Captain Wasim and Captain Adil to help us out with our needs. They were extremely cordial and helped us have a great experience !!! Special mention to captain Wasim who handled the boat with the larger group with a pleasant smile all the time. Food served was delicious and they also obliged by packing us breakfast on the day we had to leave early for Gulmarg. Mr.Khalid who was available there took overall care of our needs and was extremely helpful and approachable. Infact he even managed to get us an eggless cake for the birthday celebration of one of our family members, for which we are very thankful. The houseboats are located at a very nice and quiet locality - Nigeen lake, unlike the crowded Dal lake. The sunrise view from the upper deck of the boat was mesmerizing indeed ! Our stay in Zaffer houseboats would be something we would cherish for our lifetime.

This is our first and best experience ever in this house boat, rooms are too clean and everything in room is just perfect and the assistant named tanweer is also very polite and cooperative with us, he helped in so many things like market places, place popular things and so many. Shikara ride was awsome, views and the person who assist in ride is also nice.. If talk about food then quantity and quality both are good... Overall it's really a nice experience for us... I arrived with my family. I was greeted by Adil who was the care taker of our House Boat named Golden Lotus. As soon as we entered the House Boat we were amazed with the interiors of the Boat. As we entered there was seating area and there was gate to get inside, than there was hall with TV, small library, sofa. The next room was dinning area with sitting area of 8 person. Than there was a staircase for the roof there was sitting area as well. Next there was room accommodation for 3 people with personal bathroom with bath tub. Next there was another suite room which was very big with sofa inside. There was Wifi available here. The interiors was great. We were welcomed here with complimentary tea. The care taker was also very good. The staff was very accommodative. My mom did not eat anything from the buffet, so they made a dish of her preference specially so that she would eat, I liked that about them. We took pictures from the House Boat and all were really good because the background was scenic. There were Shikaras, greenery and a few snow capped mountains . The workmanship in the House Boat was amazing. There sellers use to visit us from Shikara to buy their products like Clothes , Jewellery, Special Kashmiri Kahwa , handicrafts Items and lot . It was one of the most amazing experience I've ever had.

I arrived very weak from a three week ayuverdic retreat and Gulam and his family took very good care of me. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I have never experienced such a loving and caring hospitality anywhere else. I came partially for business and they helped me with their good connections saving me both a lot of time, money and also that I got the best quality. They helped me arrange a motorbike trip Ladakh with brand new and safe motorbikes and when I had altitude sickness they arranged for the bike to get picked up so I could fly down. Long story, short: I was always in good hands and felt safe with Gulam and his family - I am thankful for that. Since I was too weak to make any hikes to the mountains I will hopefully be coming back by summer next year as there seems to be endless of beauty to discover.

We stayed here in March and I must say it was one of the best experiences of our lives. The houseboat was of premium quality, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. The boat is located on Nikki Lake, which is incredibly beautiful, and the mountain view from the balcony was breathtaking.

Fantastic setting on a beautiful , classic Kashmiri houseboat. The interior is luxurious with woven Kashmiri carpets, walnut furniture and carved wooden paneling. The rooms are large with modern baths and central heating. Good lighting and Wi-Fi in the facility. A large seating area outside in the rear and on the second level above provides great views of the lake and sunrise. Lake Nageen is less hectic than the traffic on Dal Lake. Excursions can be arranged, trout fishing when in season. The meals are excellent and the gentleman that maintains each boat does a splendid job of providing guest with special attention to individual request, needs. All of the boats in this group have recently been renovated with the central heating. Parking is provided near to where the boat is moored. Tours on the lake in shikarri are available. The Boktoo family, Aslam and sons Gulum and Khalid provide a wonderful Kashmiri houseboat experience. Strongly recommend a stay with Zaffer Houseboats. M.ReidM.D.
