I am Raj from Pune, Maharashtra. I stayed 3 Nights in Houseboat New Golden Flower. Honestly speaking I felt like at my home because Yakub ji and his son Mujtaba took nice care of me.
About Heating during winter: No worries If it is winter and temperature is in Minus the Houseboat has heating facilities in each Bedroom, Sitting and Dinning room.
Food: The food is hygienic and home made with local Kashmiri taste. You should once take few items of Kashmiri wazwan. Do not miss the traditional Kashmiri Kehwa.
Location: The location of Houseboat New Golden is unique. From this houseboat one can have full view of Nigeen lake and watch Sunrise and Sunset.

Beautiful houseboat with beautiful interiors and just like a five star palace on water. The houseboat has the best location and full air conditioning and the food was just like home made food with lots of varieties. All the rooms are very spacious and very neat and clean and good hygiene. This was my best stay in my one week tour of Kashmir. The people working on these houseboats are very well trained and they treated us like king and I wanted to stay another night on this beautiful houseboat but my bad luck as they were fully booked for best

The location is amazing in Nigeen lake, the possibility to sit on the front porch of the houseboat, but also in the beautiful garden (on their isle), the privacy, the wonderful people who know hospitality to the core and treat you as one of their family, the cleanliness and clear water of the lake in which one can have a swim, In particular a speciality, in their house (where I am also welcome), in the livingroom they have 8 birdsnest (swallows). These people live so close to nature. If you love nature, stay in this peaceful and comfortable place! A home away from home!

strongly advise staying away from this place, as it appears to be a tourist scam with fabricated reviews. Before making a reservation, keep in mind that the houseboat is located on Nagin Lake, despite sometimes being falsely advertised as being on the quieter side of Dal Lake. In reality, it is far from Dal Lake and doesn't come close to matching its beauty. Furthermore, the houseboat was touted as an old and iconic one, but it turned out to be quite ordinary with basic interiors and minimal amenities. The pricing, in the name of legacy, is exorbitant for what it offers. There was no heating or cooling equipment, and a persistent foul smell lingered due to plumbing issues. Upon arrival, we were left unattended because the staff had supposedly gone to a wedding. One family walked out due to these issues within an hour. To add to the disappointment, the manager, Fayaz, continuously brought shikara hawkers into our room, invading our privacy. He also kept pushing us to book a shikara ride despite us refusing multiple times. Moreover, since there was no food available or facilities to cook, we had to return to the city to get our meals. Strangely, when we checked out, Fayaz charged us 500 rupees for a 2-minute shikara ride we had to take to fetch food, and he ganged up on us. Please keep this in mind while booking since as a tourist you will need to go sightseeing, and every crossing will be charged. Normally, houseboats on Dal lake have their own shikaras for free movement of visitors. When we contacted the owners to complain, they initially empathized and promised a refund but then didnt pick up our followup calls. This place is highly commercialized, with tourists being their last priority. Please be cautious of such unethical practices. If you are considering this houseboat, I suggest you to book the houseboat in person (there is very less rush here, so you will get a space everytime and you can negotiate terms better) keeping all these factors in mind, instead of paying upfrontonline and being at their mercy.

Dear Travellers First of all greetings from Houseboat New Golden Flower Secondly i am responding this review point to point because you do not know what is the real story between these guests (2 Families) and us. 1. Actually these guests have booked our property through Online portal and not directly through us. in the starting of this review the guest has mentioned that they have booked our Houseboat for night. He is 100% lying. The truth is that they have booked our houseboat for Night no doubt but their flight was in the evening time so they book Houseboat to spend few hours in houseboat before leaving to Airport. Their Check in and Check out was on the same day. Therefore they are misleading others by saying the lie. 2. This guests has not made home work before booking Houseboat. As everyone in the world knows that most of the Houseboats are moored inside the lake and the Shikara is the only mean of transport by which one is reaching to these houseboats. 3. 2 Crossings are free i.e during Check -in and on Check -Out from Houseboat owner and if guest wanna move more than these 2 crossings then Guest has to pay for extra crossings as per the rates approved by Department of Tourism Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, The Shikara owner has charged them the crossings as per that rate and for this he should not get disappointed as every guest who visits Kashmir and stay in Houseboat pays accordingly. 4. The Guest has said Does Guests are coming in Houseboat by Swimming? I am sure this guest has no knowledge about the life on waters... He has not made home work properly. 5. The guest has mentioned in review there are no facilities inside houseboat. For his information we have a big sitting room which has big sofas writing table, day bed, coffee tables and 5g free wifi, then a Dining room with Walnut wood Dining table + walnut wood chairs, Bed Rooms with 1Double bed and 1 Single bed, Dressing table, Attached bath room with bath tub + washing basin anf Flash, toiletries, Towels and Soap, Uninterrupted power supply and Room service 24 hours so i am confused which other facilities the guest was expecting. If he was expecting Moon and stars in our houseboat then i am sorry we do not offer such facilities. 6. The guest has said be careful if you have a baby alongwith so think first many times. Let me say him you are not only the guest who is carrying baby along with. We have served 100s and 1000s of families who had 6 months old babies and we have served them in a better way as we have also kids at home so we have great affection and experience. 7. The guest have mention that it was a hot houseboat only fans. I think he does not know the geography that Kashmir is a hill station and maximum temperature here is 35 Degrees that is why no need of Ac. The most hottest months in Kashmir are May, June, July and August even those months our guest does not complaint and this guest stayed in the month of September which is the Beginning of Autumn and the climate remains chill. 8. Now is the important point why the guest has written this review. As in the starting of my reply i have mentioned that this guest has not booked my houseboat for night and there check out was on the same day. Here the climax starts. The guest was travelling in local taxi cab and the driver misguided him and said that this property is far away from Airport. So they were asking for the refund which i refused. Because our cancellation & refund policy is that we do not provide refund on the day of Check-in as it is "No Show". if you will read his review he has mentioned that we left houseboat after 2.5 hours because Houseboat was very hot inside and here again they lie as there flight was same day in the evening which is a bitter truth. Therefore, he is misleading the people by mentioning the baseless lines. We are in Houseboat Business since 1916 and all the International News channels like BBC. Voice of America and Press TV have made a story of of this Heritage Houseboat.

New Golden Flower Heritage Houseboat is located at the best location on Nigeen lake. You can see both sunset and sunrise from the houseboat. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities. The host, Mr. Yakub, and his family are very generous and warm people. They took great care of me, helped me in going around Kashmir, and even provided special home-cooked Kashmiri dinner. I truly felt at home. I wish I had stayed more at this amazing place with these amazing people.

I have booked New Golden Flower Heritage Houseboat for my stay in Srinagar Kashmir. I booked this houseboat on the review basis on Trip advisor and Agoda and found the same as mentioned in the reviews. The houseboat is located at Nigeen lake which is more beautiful and quite then Dal lake. The Houseboat has a unique view . I like the services provided by Ayub and Mujtaba. The rooms are very clean. There is a Free Wi-Fi in sitting room so one can explore and relax on sofa or day bed, The owner Yakub Dunoo is nice person and he can arrange cab for sight-seeing on reasonable price. I strongly recommend this Houseboat

This is our first visit to this beautiful place. The houseboat is very clean, beautiful and comfortable. The owner of the houseboat was very warm to us. It is a very happy thing to eat special local delicacies and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake in the houseboat. Thank you for allowing us to have such wonderful memories. The stay was good even more than we expected. We had a mindset about houseboats earlier because of all social media platforms. We didn't choose the houseboat earlier but when we entered into this houseboat everything got changed. From providing facilities more than we imagined. Food was good, it was feeling like a homely cooked feeling. This houseboat has an excellent view. Staff was very nice to us and very supportive. Now whenever we will visit Kashmir , we would ofcourse choose this houseboat only. The best stay we had in Kashmir so far❤️

Always dreamt of staying in a houseboat, to experience living in the "much-talked-about" Sikhara on the Dal Lake. I choose Nagini lake over Dal lake as I wanted some quiet time and to experience the slow life. When we reached the place oh God, it seemed unreal I have always seen it in pictures, and for me, all of it was coming true straight from the books. We took a small boat, to reach our designated houseboat. They were of all shapes and sizes decked up very close to each other, it was possible to hop on from one houseboat to another.
The boat was beautiful, with sufficient drawing room, dining room, halls and bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Every room was extravagantly furnished and elaborate with Kashmiri handicrafts. The colorful wall-hangings and coverings, rugs rounded off the wooden panels.

If you like to have a silent and peaceful scenery outside your houseboat instead of having rush and clusters of houseboat , opt for new golden flower houseboat in nageen lake instead of shiny houseboats of dal. You'll find it so calm that you don't want to go inside until late night. A very good experience for me. Totally safe and hygienic houseboat. Food was great. Worth 6/5 stars.
