The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar garners high praise for its cleanliness, with guests highlighting the pristine state of the rooms and the well-kept gardens. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as inviting, with serene surroundings and live music adding to the charm. While the rooms are generally applauded for their comfort and space, some guests feel that certain rooms could benefit from modernization.
The location is a hit among travelers for its tranquility and easy access to local attractions like Dal Lake. The Lalit's service earns accolades for its professionalism and attentiveness, although opinions are divided on the overall value, with some questioning the price point given the aging amenities.

Amazing experience
After months of lockdown and no traveling my fiancée and I decided to go away for the weekend. We chose Lalit Srinagar due to it's beautiful property and amazing service as all we really wanted was to be pampered.
Pampered we were. From the moment we entered the hotel to our last goodbyes we were greeted and treated with impeccable service. We felt like royals there (especially since the lockdown). One of the best things to note was that they had adapted to the current pandemic and kept safety of their guests and staff as number one priority. With regular temperature checks and sanitizers available every corner they made sure safety for the number one key. All the staff members were wearing their masks and face shields and maintained distance. Tabels in the restaurants had been spaced out.
Rooms were thoroughly sanitized and we were even given an upgrade! The staff made us feel at home and tried to accommodate all our wishes. One of our friend's was proposing to his girlfriend and the management went above and beyond to make this experience a memorable one for them.
explored every inch of the property and enjoyed every nook and corner. Their service is truly unparalleled. I highly recommend everyone to go at least once to experience this.
Chef Lalu arranged a biryani for us with never ending food.
Only a thing to be pointed out was the pasta which was raw and spoken with chef. But he was arguing that it is made this way only. He need to be less rude. Rest was all k.
A big thank you to the Lalit grand palace Srinagar team for a wonderful experience.

The location is beautiful overlooking Dal Lake…which is just a short walk down the hill. The property is large and has a resort vibe. Palace grounds are well manicured with many magnificent old Chinnar trees.
The hotel common areas are modeled towards an earlier period, and have a historic feel. However the corridors leading to the rooms are somewhat dark and uninviting.
The room we had looked recently refurbished and had a large comfortable bed. The large window looked out onto the lawns. We slept well during our stay here.
The sole operational Restaurant was outside on the lawn, which made for a hot and sweaty lunch, especially given the leisurely service that seems to work on resort time. So its actually a relief to have a buffet at dinner and breakfast….food is a decent variety and delicious, if a bit of the usual mishmash of standard 5 star hotel buffet entries.
The overall experience was good, however the pricing is exorbitant…but given the limited lodging options in Srinagar one has few choices (Vivanta?).
I would probably try the Vivanta if I visited Srinagar again.

Had an amazing experience but several drawbacks I felt that the room floors are very scratchy when you enter the room you'll feel that floor is quite dusty and there are no bathtubs as well.bathrooms are so small one can not even take shower properly...Must appreciate the services which were provided by the two humble ladies of reception from the check-in to check out ,they were brilliant,,Late night we had wifi issue and they made sure it gets sorted, walking from the reception to our far away rooms explains their spirit of work..I am highly thankful to Yasmeena and Farhana and these 5 stars are for them...
The garden chinar restaurant is also not functional ,food is too expensive despite paying so much of amount for the rooms you end up regretting nothing else... Paying 25k for a single room is not a mere thing.
I hope next time things are changed

We stayed at Lalit Grand Palace for 2 nights and our experience was very poor. The property itself is nice but the service & food were abysmal. There was no one at the Room Service to take our calls and we had to constantly call reception to connect us. The food quality was terrible with many items on the menu not available. Some of the food we ordered was missing many of the ingredients & garnishes although we were charged full price for everything. The bar did not have enough drinks and everything took ages to be made. Overall staff seemed to suffer from lack of proper training.
Covid norms were not followed properly as many staff members were not wearing masks while speaking with customers and sanitizer bottles were often empty.
Service levels are so high that at the price Lalit is charging its customers, this level of service & poor food quality is not acceptable. Lalit must raise their standards of service if they are to compete with the likes of Taj, Oberoi or Leela.
We will not be staying at Lalit Srinagar again. We have been advised to choose Taj instead for our next trip.

+1
1. for a room worth tariff of 21000 the room condition was just like any 3 star hotel, i have shared the pictures for the same.
There was no precautions taken at the time of check-in, no temperature check and sanitisation. So i am sure that my room was not even sanitised. Wooden-wall behind the bed was so dirty it had a lot of dust which was easily visible so i assume your house keeping team ignored it.
2. There was a hairdryer in washroom but no plugs to use them.
3. floor towel was much new and white with comparison to bath towel which were dirty and had stains.
4. In bedroom, glass was badly stained that i could hardly see in it, also bed side lamp was broken which is a big disappointment for a room with tariff of 21k.
5. Pillows were so old and overly used that even using 3 pillows didn’t give me any comfort.
6. We took dinner buffet by paying ₹6000 for two. All the crockery was stained and old and on asking your staff for fresh breads we were given same stale breads.
7. In the morning buffet i have asked for fresh poori and parantha, mr. rajkumar told us that we can have the ones which are already there (old and stale) But they were so cold and stale that we were not able to eat the breakfast only. Your staff at lalit grand palace is not even 10% competent with respect to staff at sukoon houseboat or peak and pine or four points Sheraton where as they charge only half of what you are charging.
8. I was given a cup of kehwa with lipstick mark on it, which is actually pathetic and shows the luxurious service lalit is providing and another cup was given which had stains, that shows how ignorant your staff is.
9. I asked for an umbrella from concierge and there was no revert till 2:30hrs and umbrella was also not given.
I really appreciate the service provided by Mr. Arokiam.
He was extremely professional and took good care of us and tried his best to make our dinner/breakfast buffet comfortable.
Security staff misbehaved for using swing while other people were using it ( adults) and he gave us the reason that it’s for kids.
He was so rude and did not care about the complaint too.
Although Manager tried to resolve the issue by refunding dinner buffet amount , but paying 22000 per day and getting services not even worth ₹ 2100. Bad bad experience

I was prepared for the appalling service standards and food at the Lalit, as a friend who heard I was staying there requested me to please cancel and move to the Vivanta. It was too late by then . I’m reviewing this property sincerely as I feel it’s unfair for people to pay exorbitant prices and have such a terrible experience . The hospitality business is all about service and hard ware . The location is lovely but how long can we stare at the lawns . We booked a cottage . It was dark , tucked at the back with zero view , no sunshine , a microwave from the 90’s was dumped which didn’t work ( a BPL microwave ) . That wasn’t changed because they didn’t have a single spare . The toilet didn’t work so on day 2 we had to shift to another room. The staff r basically interns and trainees . It’s not their fault as they lack experience and guidance from experienced managers , and as a result everyday every single thing was a struggle . They forget to clean the room all day , forget to give milk with tea , then the milk comes but the spoons is forgotten . The towels - less said the better . The so called mini bar is en empty fridge . The hygiene and cleanliness is appalling . I was teaching them how to clean my room eventually . The poor chap said “ ma’am we have so many rooms to clean and not enough people “ . Shame on the management . Your team is trying so hard but they are humans and have a capacity beyond which your are expecting them to perform . Every guest expects a good experience , basic items like a good shower were not in place . The breakfast buffet lacked taste and the service was slow and sloppy . The worst is after so many hassles they don’t even give you a cup of tea on the house . They charged Rs 800 for a pot for tea with 2 cups when the identical pot of tea was half the price the day before . Appalling is the word . This could be the worst service I’ve experienced in my life . The location and property is gorgeous , the lawns r beautiful but after a point we want more at these prices .
Please do note that Zeeshan was really helpful and has tried his best to help us and we are very grateful to him .

Worst Hotel Worst Staff Worst Experience
No no no, dont ever come here for a stay as they would make you feel like a stranger in your own country. Even after paying more than 21000 per night for room tariff expect an uncleaned room, dirty toilet, very arrogant staff who would refuse to serve tea. In the restaurant items like risotto, caviar and a few others including sprite we asked weren't available so we basically you can ONLY order what the server recommends. On top of that the general manager ashish nehra doesn’t care to respond to calls of general guests as he’s busy making arrangements for only high profile guest from spicejet. Next time for me i would like to donate the money rather than spoil your holiday knowingly .. !!

We were there from the 16th of July 2021 to 18th of July 2021. The breakfast and buffet dinner which was included in our package was not at all upto the standard. The bath towels provided were worn out. No hand towels were provided and when we asked for them, we were told they were not giving because of the COVID-19 situation??
There were fungus on the bathroom wall. Service was very very poor. Had requested for a coffee mug at abt 9.30 am on the 17th which they never sent. Had to ask them again at 4 in the afternoon. Which they finally sent!
Food was pathetic. I felt that bath bath towels provided at a three star hotel was better than the one at The Grand Lalit.

Our stay at The Lalit Grand Palace, Srinagar in December 2021 was magical and a major reason for that was this hotel and it’s people.
The location is excellent, close to Dal Lake and very close to famous restaurants and attractions. The property exudes old world charm with it’s Chinar trees and large expanse of greenery. Hands down, one of the most beautiful hotels in India. The rooms are a good size and if you get a ground floor room, you will have the luxury of your own patio that faces the front lawns. The staff is courteous and takes all efforts to ensure a memorable stay. The breakfast buffet is the standard fare you would find at most Indian hotels, this is also an area where they can improve by bringing in more choices.
Where this hotel earns our full 5 stars, is the great efforts taken by our chauffeur, Mr Latif, to show us around Srinagar and Kashmir. Latif was assigned to us by Lalit and helped us find the best guides and experiences in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and in Srinagar. Latif took extra effort to arrange for these experiences, and had great relationships with tour guides in all these places, ensuring that we were always treated like VIPs and shown the best places. A special mention for the tour of Old Srinagar that Latif took us for on our last day. This is off the beaten path for most tourists, so you’ll get to see the real Srinagar (or as Latif said, the “dil” (heart) of Srinagar). Latif also has excellent recommendations on where to shop for carpets, dry fruits and other local goods.
All in all, we had a memorable Kashmir holiday and the biggest factor to making this holiday great was the high level of hospitality we received at every step of our trip, be it Latif, the tour guides, the chauffeurs, the waiters, the hotel staff or even the doorman. Thank you to Lalit and to Latif for making this one of the best holidays for us, ever.
Summing it up:
Hospitality: 10/10
Food: 7/10
Rooms: 9/10
Location: 9/10
Property: 10/10
Value for money: 9/10
We’re already planning our next Srinagar holiday and can’t wait to be back here again.

+1
From the time we entered this property to the time we left, everything was like WOW. To start with, upon arrival, we were swiftly checked in and led to our room. The room was in immaculate condition with a large sized viewing window to enjoy the views of Dal lake, the sprawling lawns and the autumn colours of chinar trees within the property. There were luxurious toiletries in the decent sized bathroom. We were keen on having Kashmiri cuisine and hence requedted the Executive Chef Mr. Sharma if he could help us and he willingly obliged. We were treated to some amazing Wazhwan treats that are unique to Kashmir. Next morning, our breakfast was served outdoors under a huge chinar tree which was really a novel idea. The quality of food too was outstanding. Later on when we were to check out, we requested them if we could stay late since our flight was in the evening and they gladly agreed to allow us to use our room for another couple of hours. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to be guests here again.

I don’t know as we were a big group all from outside Srinagar.. so I don’t know the rules for the local people. Sorry
Hi..!! Currently the rush is too much so difficult to give any price indication as the rates are very dynamic.
I didn't stay but only went for lunch. Sorry, unable to help but am sure if requested a room where smoking is allowed, will be given.
It rarely snows i . Srinagar itself. But adjoining areas are filled with snow during winter; which typically runs from mid- December to whole of January. There are regions in Kashmir which are snow clad all the year.
Great Choice. Best time to be in Kashmir
