We stayed in a three-bed room for one night in April 2022. It was bad to begin with. We were told we will be given the front room, but given one at the tail end of the boat. The front was being reconstructed and I wasn't told about him when I had spoken to the owner on the phone. The meals were terrible. Rajma was water and we were given only bread and butter as breakfast. I ordered an omelette which was laden with only oil. There was little hot water and when I informed the owner he got me some in a bucket. I paid 3500 for the room and I feel cheated to say the least. I'm never going back here. As someone who travels often, I prefer honestly. Charge me for what you claim to provide. I will be happy to pay but this was beyond disappointing. I'm deeply sore.

I stayed in this house boat on 19.04.2018 and spent only a night. House boat caretaker was not a nice person and he tried to offer us their least good room while my travel agent had booked deluxe room. We also had a hot talk with caretaker. No approach to front balcony for other rooms except the one on front. Cleanliness of bathroom was poor. No proper arrangement for food. So avoid this particular house boat because of it's caretaker. He can bite you. Literally.

awsm place to visit with friends and the serenity of the place is awsm when we were there time goes like few seconds happy moment if u visit nearby do have a visit to taj palace group of houseboat otherwise u gonna miss

I have stayed 5 days in Kashmir where I have booked this houseboat for one day. I didn't like it much. Not that clean Houseboat and didn't like the structure also. While entering one room will be there then dining then other rooms. If will get other room then u can't come to balcony of the houseboat.No running hot water, you have to request them for hot water. So avoid this houseboat.

taj palace houseboat is located near ghat 15 dal lake, easily approachable from ghat 15. the houseboat is quite old & aesthetically very poor. the houseboat has three rooms & all rooms more or less looks similar & quite aesthetically poor. the front room only has the passage to the deck area & others can't go from inside they have to go from outside if they want to. the service is moderate & the caretaker seems also looks other houseboats too, you need to ring him if you need anything. the food provided at the houseboat is a pity, its better to eat outside there lots of options available on the boulevard road. they offer free pick & drop to nearest ghat like all others do. nothing for recommendation, worth only if you get it within 1500/ just for the sake of houseboat experience, more than a night not worth…

No doubt houseboat is great, but poorly maintained. You can see dust everywhere. Rooms are wood carved and specious. We opted for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which was horrible. So we had dinner out side. I advise travlers go for it you will enjoy but dont pre-book meals, and if you dont like anything dont complain, they get irritated instead of correcting it.

house boat has 3 rooms. the biggest room is at the back. the room has almost everything but no wifi. for food you have to tell the boy what you wants to eat Then he will cook accordingly. they have a pet/cat.

This Taj Palace is an excellent houseboat with deluxe rooms. The rooms are very well maintained and also equipped with the necessary needs. It is located centrally in the Dal lake and is at a stones throw from the mainland. It has a dining room where one's family can sit and dine in together. Also there is a big hallway inside. The passage leading to rooms is quite narrow but still works. Awesome to stay here. Cheers,

A vacation in worth when you have a nice stay, meet good people and have great company! Everything was wonderful about this vacation. We stayed there last week (4th and 5th Sept, 2015). Like most people in the valley, Umar (the owner) was a very nice person and he took care of all our needs. Though we did not have any food there, but he did serve us with Noon Chai and Kashmiri bread :). When you are tight on your budget and still want to have a great experience, this is a good place to be in!!!
