I would've given 4 stars to the hotel for the slight lack of service experience but the staff made my stay so comfortable that I will be happy to go back and also recommend the place to all.
Here's what is so nice about the hotel:
The building has recently been renovated and what a good job they've done :-)
I loved the understated interiors and subtle use of local elements (copper lamps and local rugs in rooms) and of course, the toiletries added to the pleasant experience. I usually carry my own but this time I was happy to use what the hotel offered and happily would have asked for more :-)
There is a rooftop restaurant aptly named the Waterfront, which will be even more enjoyable in the summer when one can sit open air and enjoy a panoramic view of the houseboat laden Dal Lake across. The food is also very good. During my stay, I had invited a few friends and placed order for Biryani and Awadhi Ghosht beforehand. Both dishes were outstanding as was everything else they served. A special shout out to Mr. Simran Pal Singh at the Waterfront restaurant. Him and his team are attentive and receptive to customers' demands. Big Thumbs up !
Now the main reason why I was so happy in this hotel. I had suffered a fall in the snow and injured my knee, so needed help to amble across to the lift and into the car. I would not have been able to do any of that without the kind staff who assisted me every step of the way. They indeed made my stay very very comfortable and would periodically check on me to ensure I'm ok.
Mr. Javed at the reception and the doormen who walked me to my room, I am indeed grateful for your assistance. Thank you.
Just one point I want to add here. The hotel needs to have some medical aid kit available. I had my own medical requirement already sorted by the time I reached Vintage but I do know most hotels in Kashmir do not keep even a crepe bandage for their guests. My suggestion is that just a little more than a first aid kit will go a long way in ensuring guests' comfort. There are chemist shops close to the hotel but just to ensure comfort at odd hours, the hotel can be more forthcoming with a medical kit.
The location of the hotel may not be the best in the city but it is Kashmir and nowhere is a bad location either. Besides you are in the hub of the tourist zone and not far from anywhere you want to visit. Enjoy the view of the lake, however limited, the bustle of the touristy market street where its located, you might find a cool local item of art. There's a few cafes and restaurants too nearby although Vintage's own patisserie is not bad at all and food is certainly better than most other places.
And do take a stroll along the lake on the boulevard, its right where your hotel is.

The hotel is right opposite Dal lake and by far the best luxury accommodation on Boulevard. The rooms are reflection of high standards and they use pharmacopia toiletries in bathrooms which only 5 star hotels do. The waterfront restaurant is a must visit where one can see the entire lake illuminated with houseboats and also enjoy the delicious food they serve. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful in every approach. Thank you vintage Srinagar.

Amidst the bustling valley of Srinagar, lies a tranquil place that would make you
spend as much time indoors as outdoors. The hotel is a Visual treat & its aesthetics would leave you mesmerized.

The rooms are large and very comfortable with views of the Dal Lake. The bathroom amenities & the rain shower will let you indulge & rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing.

The roof top restaurant gives you a panoramic view of rows of house boats at the Lake . A meal here is a must! The food selection is great and the team looks after you in every possible way.

Having been to the valley four times , I have stayed at several other properties but The Vintage is hands down, a cut above the rest.

We stayed for 3 nights earlier this month in a “lake view “ room for which we paid extra. The location is great opposite Dal lake gate no2, Our room was a decent size and very clean. 2 bottles of water were provided complimentary everyday. Did not use the tea/coffee making facility. The room however lacked a basic mini fridge in the room for storing water and soft drinks/ juices. It is very hot in Srinagar in August and it definitely would be nice to have a fridge in the room as a standard amenity.

The Waterfront rooftop Restaurant has superb views at all times of the day and it is wonderful to dine there. Service was very polite and top notch from each and everyone in the restaurant, however the buffet had the exact same dishes for all 3 days we had breakfast, few dishes changed daily will be a good idea. Ala carte orders were tasty and well made but again there was no continental chef, we were told, so you could only order Indian or local cuisine. Which is otherwise okay but if you just need a quick bite then that’s not really convenient. Hopefully chef is back now.

We definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay in Srinagar.

I had the pleasure of both staying at and holding an event at the vintage in Srinagar. I stayed there for two nights with my wife and it is by far the best hotel in the area, and in its price range. Of course there are the other two hotels that everyone talks about (Taj Vivanta and Lalit Grand Palace) but they are triple the price. This hotel punches well above its weight.

It is extremely clean which is paramount to me, and the windows of the hotel rooms are soundproof, which are amazing for its location. The shower has great hot water and pressure.

The restaurant on the roof is a lovey setting. I believe there’s no other hotel or restaurant with its exact setting in Srinagar. The manager of the restaurant is a pleasure to work with and my family held a 50 person event there and we were so happy with how it turned out and the quality of the food and service. Highly recommend this place to all for a variety of purposes.

The place is definitely a charming, grand, classic hotel near Dal Lake. The room faces greenery and also the view of the white mountains, Hari Parbhat and Dal Lake. Staff is proactive, always trying hard to make sure we get what we requested even if it's not available at the time and making sure we are comfortable. I had booked the place for my daughter's first birthday and the rooftop restaurant was an amazing experience for everyone.

Simran (manager) and his team ensured that we get full assistance. (I definitely hope to be back.)

My stay with Vintage was short, but kudos to the Umar (hotel manager) and Simran (restaurant manager) that I kept coming to waterfront (their restaurant) every 3rd day for an entire month that I stayed in Srinagar.

Hotel is best defined with Amenities and staff service, after staying at all luxury places (I’m travelling for leisure every 2 months) I would choose Vintage over everything else coz it is just right from hotel and location aspect.

Restaurant was anyways my favourite go to place for continental & Kashmiri, Lebanese and any cuisine. They just serve it as their best delicacy plus the warmth and smile you get from vintage employee leaves you mesmerised.
A view of Dal and lit houseboats make it even more fascinating.

Our journey begins with Srinagar, just in last two days, we were blessed with some of the amazing landscapes, food and hospitality. Each season here has its own magic and you can choose to travel as per your preferred time.

Some of the key attractions:
Dal lake
Dachigam National Park
Pari Mahal
Tulip garden
Mughal gardens

It is okay if you ditch Mughal gardens. Pari Mahal does great justice to the garden and valley combo.

Vintage: The hotel is situated at Dal Gate 2 and is relatively new property. We love exploring different properties and vintage was relatively underwhelming due to the view you get from your room. Unless you book lake view rooms, rest of the rooms are just okay.

Mr Pratap Singh and Mausin were great help at the restaurant. They were extremely cooperative and served with lot of care. Reception staff is cordial too but again due to less lake view rooms, they can’t do much about your requirement. At the tariff that’s charged for the rooms, you can also get other better options too. The dal view from the roof top restaurant is excellent and so is food.

We stayed at The Vintage Srinagar on the last day of our Kashmir trip and felt like we had saved the best for the last! This hotel was launched in Srinagar in just December 2021 and is located right by the shikara starting point, overlooking the Dal Laks. It is designed extremely well with all modern amenities while retaining the vintage charm. Special mention to Mr. Syed Umer and Muzammil who made our stay extremely comfortable and looked after all our needs promptly and very courteously! Special mention to their rooftop restaurant as well, which serves amazing mughlai, oriental and Italian food! Simranpal and Pankaj at the restaurant made our meals absolutely delightful and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our meals while on our stay here! We had a great time at The Vintage Srinagar and would recommend it to anyone visiting Srinagar for a wholesome and delightful stay!
