we had a great time at Taj Srinagar. Special thanks to Mr Imran who was really helpful and accommodating. because of him our group has a very smooth check-in and the rooms were also allotted as per our demand, considering the property was running on full occupancy.
Location is truly wonderful. The staff ensures that your stay is peaceful n relaxing. Ujjwal, head of housekeeping has started a great initiative of giving complimentary foot spa in the evenings especially after a long day of sightseeing....thank you Ujjwal. An incredible experience in India's paradise and at the best hotel....thank you Taj.
The Hotel is very well located. Each room gives view of Dal Lake. They have a Gym and heated swimming Pool. Taj quality services seen on every count. Good food, good services and a beautiful Garden in the premises with variety of flowers. The rooms are spacious with Jacuzzi in the bath room. Very Good Expirience.
Excellent Property & Rooms, Friendly Staff, Awesome View, Excellent Breakfast. Loved The Stay. Pool Timings Should Be More Flexible. They Should Keep It (9AM-9PM). That’s The Only Drawback At The Property I Found It By Myself.
We were there for 2 nights in Taj Vivanta Dal view and I must say our stay was most memorable. We stayed in the Panoramic Dal view Room with a balcony and I would highly recommend this particular room category for stay. This room offers unparalleled views of the Famous Dal lake and I could actually sit there all day looking at the majestic views this room offers. Mr Ujjwal Tiwari , the housekeeping manager was super helpful and was on his toes always to help us with whatever we needed .He made our stay truly unforgettable.Mr Iqbal at the front desk is a superman.he made all arrangements in a jiffy and organised our departure vehicle and airport formalities in a flash.Special mention of mr Shabbir and Adil Zahoor for having gone that extra mile to specially decorate our room for my birthday. Mr Jitendra , the general manager came across as a very pleasant human being who was all ear for the little grievances we had and made sure that those were sorted immediately. The only area where I feel Taj Dal view Hotel is lacking is F&B.There's only 1 restaurant and food choices are limited.Though the outdoor area offers great views but the restaurant was understaffed I felt. Also the free wifi speeds offered are pretty basic ...so make sure you take the paid plan. Overall the place is beautiful and the lawns are super well maintained. It's definitely the best property in Srinagar and I hope they can maintain this in years to come .…
The best part about the property is its location, the view of Dal Lake and entire Srinagar is just superb. But the hotel does not live upto Taj Standards. The restaurant service is extremely slow, the room furnitures are old, lot of effort was needed to open and close the door. Lighting in the room is very less, the AC does not work and it needs to be switched off/on for change in temperature. The banquet halls are located closer the rooms and if any event goes on till late night it is a huge disturbance to the guests. The hotel is very much overpriced for the service standards provided.
Beautifully located on hill top with Dal lake and Zabarwan mountain ranges and the city. Infinity pool provides a lovely view. Nice green lawns with flowers and cherry trees, a good walking area. The deck/ terrace provides a very good view.
We had awesome experience at this property. We would love to go back here. View from property is simply awesome, flowers inside property are so mesmerizing.... Staff is very courteous and very well trained. Special thanks to Tariq! Regards Ravi
Amazing views, beautiful property and exceptional food. Highly recommended for families. Kashmiri experience of art, culture reflects in ambience of property. It was truly unique and very difficult to put in words.
March'22 saw a record breaking tourist influx in the valley , and we too were a part of it. While the rest might have had a very ideal vacation , ours was less than impressive , courtesy the Vivanta Dal View. Icing on the cake ? We ended up ruining a special occasion as well. Despite being a family of TIC Gold members , this place was never our first preference. Vivanta hotels are pretty infamous for their poor standards of hospitality , and discouraging reviews by multiple Taj patrons reaffirmed the same. But The Khyber was sold out weeks in advance , leaving us to choose either this or The Lalit. We took a chance with Vivanta Dal View , hoping that our elite tier status might make a difference. Sadly , we were proven wrong. The debacle began weeks before arrival. Communicating with the hotel via Email was a dreadful experience in itself. Simple queries regarding airport transfers , availing our Gold tier status benefits , etc. were never even acknowledged. I had to resort to Instagram DMs via a friend's public/business page , which did manage to elicit a telephonic response from a senior executive ( at a much later stage ). But what was shocking was the fact that these Emails were being received at their end ( i.e. not landing up in any Junk / Spam folder ) , but still they CHOSE to 'ignore' them. This was confirmed during multiple telephonic reminders for a response , which too were met with angry rebuttals rather than an apologetic tone. Sadly though , Emails sent to the official IDs of the GM / Senior Executives met the same fate , surprising considering that the much senior 'Area Director' of this zone has the courtesy to personally address any grievance sent to him via Email , and genuinely follows it up. We had booked 2 Premium Indulgence Rooms , as it is somehow the only room category available on their website , the rest perennially reserved for travel agents. Being a family of TIC Gold members , we had planned to avail our 'Upgrade Vouchers' and move to the base category suite. While this is completely the hotel's prerogative , we've never been refused an upgrade , let alone been given a lame excuse for not processing it. The hotel's reservation staff feels that TIC's Upgrade Voucher Terms & Conditions are not applicable on them as this Vivanta's suite is "not basic as other Taj properties" but a "Premium Temptation Suite". This hysterical logic-defying reason was repeatedly shoved down our throats , despite having 'proof' of being upgraded to suites named as "Mahals" time & again at Palace properties of the Taj group. The T&Cs make it abundantly clear , that the nomenclature is immaterial. But this fell on deaf ears. On arrival , and on multiple entries later , we were shocked to see the lax security arrangements at the property. There's a customary screening of the luggage as well as the car , but not of the passengers. Even the metal detectors at the lobby's porch are just for the sake of being there. While the situation in the valley might be marginally better these days , an important hotel such as this is a vulnerable spot. The GM who has had a previous stint at Taj Samudra Colombo , which narrowly escaped the brunt of the Easter tragedy in 2019 , must take this issue a bit more seriously. The rooms assigned to us were thankfully as per our preferences , and had a panoramic view of the lake. But seeing a clutter of dirty plates from the previous occupant , stuffed in a crevice outside our room was quite an eyesore. And this was at 4 PM , way beyond check-in time. While the walk down to the rooms may be pleasant for some , a slightly less erratic buggy service could be helpful. Coming to the 'pièce de résistance' of them all , the sole purpose of our trip - a birthday celebration of a family member. Starting with something which might seem frivolous , but not when one has provided multiple reminders via Email , as well as in-person at the time of check-in. The birthday cake that was scheduled for delivery at midnight was nowhere to be seen. The subsequent calls till 00:30 made it amply clear that the people on night duty were not even informed about this. But what followed the next night for our birthday dinner , was just inexcusable. 'Infinity' , a glorified fish market that Saturday , left all the in-house guests to fend for themselves. Reason ?? The senior administration was far too busy in their "Earth Hour" photo-op , which is insulting when most of us were arranging tables & chairs ourselves , and pleading the overburdened staff to take our order. Even when any senior staff member did bother to pay some attention , it was diverted towards some local government officials & their families dining there , rather than the hapless tourist. Sadly , any query / prior request for a 'private dining experience' was dismissed with bewilderment. The airline we flew on our way here , had advertised how Vivanta Dal View can arrange a unique dining experience at the Char Chinar island , but nobody at the front desk or restaurant was even aware about it. While the chaos we faced might have been a weekend phenomenon , but sub-standard food , demanding gratuity for better service ( by the local servers ) , discouraging anyone from ordering à la carte , are some of the many norms at this place. Despite having all the potential , Vivanta Dal View is not meant for the loyal Taj patron. We are glad that we stayed at the Rambagh Palace just a week after our stay here , which reinstilled our faith in IHCL.…
