Our experience with Taj has always been wonderful and Vivanta Dal View was nothing different. One of the most noteworthy thing about the hotel is its location and 5000+ feet above sea level means you get a feeling of staying on top of a mountain. One aspect which always makes us come back to Taj is that you get a homely, secure and warm feeling whenever you check-in at Taj properties. Hospitality is unparalleled and here too we had same experience. At Vivanta Dal View, staff welcomed us with traditional Kashmiri Kawaha which was a new experience for us. We stayed for 2 nights in 2 different rooms one of which was premium indulgence room and it does justice to its name as it is as luxurious as any stay can get. All rooms have fabulous views of Dal Lake and snow clad mountains irrespective of the category so be rest assured of the views when you are making the booking.
We follow Jain diet and for our stays at various Taj stays, the meals are always sumptuous and tasty. Vivanta Dal View was no different and chef Abhishek made sure we were served all posts varieties during our entire stay.
We went to Gulmarg for snow activities and the hotel staff guided us on things to be kept in mind while going to Gulmarg and how to bargain for such activities. All those tips came in handy when we visited Gulmarg. We did 4 main activities in Gulmarg - Skiing, Snow biking, ATV ride and sledge ride. It was a fabulous experience and to top it all there was a snowfall at Phase 1 of Gondola which was one of the most surreal experience!
3 cheers to entire hotel staff for their hospitality and we would definitely consider coming back here when we visit Kashmir again.

Getting here from the Airport took a bit of time as the Hotel is on the other side of Srinagar, tucked away on top of a hill. When you arrive you are greeted with warm smiles and friendly hello's from all around. Staying here felt very exclusive as the views you get of Srinagar and Dal Lake are phenomenal. The property is a bit isolated but if you have a car it will only take a few mins to drive up the hill. The facilities were really good within the hotel. Rooms were cozy yet spacious and the restaurant was really good with Vegetarian options, yet I feel you can get better and more affordable meals in the city rather than at the hotel. Overall yes this is definitely a place to stay if you want an nice time away from noise and the busy city.

Our family had a two night stay at the Taj Vivanta Dal View in the second week of June 2022. We booked this hotel mainly due to its excellent location up on a hill, overlooking the more serene part of the Dal Lake. The rave reviews of the vistas from the hotel gardens and rooms is completely justified, no other Srinagar hotel can boast of anything remotely similar. We had two room types. The Premier Indulgence room had a private balcony and gave us an expansive view of the Dal Lake and mountains. We enjoyed morning tea and evening coffee on the balcony, drinking in the gorgeous vistas with our eyes. All rooms in this category had a private staircase which means that those with mobilty issues should not book this room. The Superior Charm room had a sitout on the lawn with a garden and partial lake view but had a complete lack of privacy. All the rooms in this category had large glass doors and windows opening onto a common lawn, guests could enjoy walks here which meant that curtains had to be kept drawn at all times. Both rooms had luxurious bathrooms with rain showers, bath tubs and memorable orange and bergamot scented bath products. The Taj hospitality was on full display. Fazilla at Reception was enthusiastic, bubbly and full of ideas. Ujwal in Housekeeping organized a relaxing foot soak and kept checking in on us. Wasim from housekeeping services was prompt to accede to all requests. Davinder and Vishal made our dinner experience at Infinity Restaurant simply exquisite. Room service meals were priced only marginally more than the restaurant and portion sizes were generous. My only complaint is with the rooms. Both rooms had freshly varnished and hence extremely slippery floors. The Superior Charm Room had sticky stains on the couches and a broken bathroom blind. Though makeshift covers were promptly provided, the room could not be changed due to a full hotel. Drinking water glasses had no covers or coasters, an oddity in an otherwise luxurious hotel. Overall, an incredible stay.

During such never seen before times, employees of Taj Vivanta (Srinagar) are a true reflection of the tremendous value / service they provide to increase the overall value of the brand they aspire to represent.
Chef Aseem Gupta is extremely professional and his emotional intelligence reflects in his attitude to help a dynamic range traveler needs. His communication style is niche and should be an industry wide go to model. He displayed great character and phenomenal human behavior / aptitude. His team, including Chef Sewa and team make the most amazing food adapting to the needs of the visitor and every morsel of the variety of dishes is amazing.
The housekeeping team professionally engages with the visitor ensuring specific needs are met, most important ‘can be done’ attitude being their core service standard. Adil, Shabar, Imran and team, thank you for everything you do. You are top talent!!

All employees ensure adherence to the safety protocols and governance framework. It gets really difficult to communicate and service traveler needs while the face is covered (mask on), the team ensures this roadblock does not impact visitor needs. While the climate is around -7 to 5, the team ensures the service standards are not impacted, with such an effort that will make you visit this property again and again.

I don't know where to start. This was the first time I went for a vacation post the lockdown that was placed in all the states. By far this has been the best experience I have had. Right from the housekeeping to the restaurant staff, each one of their executives made sure our stay was comfortable.
I would like to give a special shoutout to the following team members:
1. Sajaj and Shabur Rasool - Everyday they would clean our rooms timely and take care of all the asks and the amenities in the room without me having to ask them with a smile on their faces. Telling us about the places I could visit, it was a delight knowing them.
2. Chef Sewa Singh and Abhishek - For the 5 days that me and my family have been here, they have spoilt us for choice. They have made sure our hunger pangs were sufficiently taken care of along with my dad's special dietary needs. I am gonna miss the lip smacking food when I go back
3. Falak and Tariq - The level of service provided by them was impeccable. They would serve us each and everything on the table and made sure we had everything with a big smile on their faces. Especially when Falak would get us the special ginger and masala tea. Loved it!
I'm definitely gonna be back with my family. This has been nothing short of extravagant, Thank you so much everyone.

They charged me for two meals which I had in room even when I paid for all 3 meals via MakeMyTrip. I had even mentioned that it’s paid meal while ordering it in room and not a word was told that it would be chargeable in room. This is daylight robbery! I have never had the same problem in any other Taj property. Also the staff do make weird faces at you, especially the restaurant staff. I did notice that other customers too were not delighted with the restaurant staff during breakfast. The views are pretty good on a clear day though which is the only real good thing. Overall the typical Taj customer service is missing in this hotel. Please stay away from rooms with glass doors, that let the cold in, even with the AC heating in full blow.

As the name suggests- ‘Vivanta Taj Dal view’ is the ‘taj’ of Srinagar- located at the top of mountain with magnificent views of Dal Lake, snowy Pirpanjal range on one side and Srinagar city on the foothills of Zabarwan parvat on another side… we were on Delux Delight Lake view room with a balcony which just stole our heart. Though the property is little old from outside but the interior of rooms are very well maintained, cozy, extremely hygienic with luxurious bed linens, large and well decorated bathroom having separate areas for bath, toilet and a large bath tub. It’s location is also very close to Tulip garden. But what I like most about Taj , is their hospitality… starting from the check in process to your entire stay.. just let them know your needs.. they will try their best to feel you happy, pampered and special. They will help in shopping, for sightseeing and everything. The menu of buffet breakfast was lavish and expansive… we’ve tasted couple of Kashmiri cuisines which were super tasty and authentic. The outside garden and lawn areas are super maintained with lots of Tulips and seasonal flowers of Kashmir. Overall staying at Taj Srinagar is a must recommendation if you like to enjoy the true flavours of Kashmir.

Had a short but wonderful stay at the Vivanta, Srinagar. What brings us back to Taj again and again is the hospitality. You can literally feel the difference when you stay at the Taj or any other hotel chain. The staff always goes out of the way to make you feel special. The food too was really good too. My only complaint was that the room I was allotted was really far away from the main building and it was quite a walk up the ramp to get there. A special mention goes out to Mr. Arif, who was kind enough to hold on to my sling bag that I forgot in the hotel safe, containing my valuables. Everything was returned to me in perfect order. Would definitely love to visit again.

1. Check-in was a disaster. The executive was very rude in answering my queries as if he doesn’t want me to stay. For eg when I asked about shikara ride, he just said that it’s not happening as dal is frozen. I know the lake is frozen but by any chance it could happen I don’t wanna miss it. Later I took a cab and asked the driver and he said “yes, I can go for shikara ride” and I did it. That executive without enquiring just gave a rude answer as if he owns dal lake. 2. Room had a broken glass which had a small window through which cold air is peeping in. We didn’t have any problem because of that as the room was centrally heated and the inside temperature was pleasant. But knowing the freezing climate outside, I was a bit worried. 3. Drain knob of the bath tub was broken. But they repaired it after informing. But it’s a five star property. They should keep every finer detail. 4. Location was amazing. With dal lake on one side and valley with a small town on the other. Actually the hotel is on a hilltop. 5. Food was good. Breakfast was sooper. In room dining options were few but taste was good. 6. Pool was not operational due to covid restrictions. But spa was working. Only one restaurant was operating. 7. Manager was good man. I should have spoken to him directly skipping his rude colleague. 8. Overall it’s a mixed experience. I think I don’t pay a visit again.

Vivanta Dal View, Srinagar by Taj Hotels is surely beautifully located. You get clear views of the Dal Lake from every room and the views are same from all rooms as the entire property is situated atop a cliff overlooking the lake. We were there for 3 nights marking our 4th Anniversary and Booked it via Inner Circle App. The rooms are decent and clean but definitely could have been better and cleaner. The bed-side charging points almost falling off. Not so clean glass door which leads to a tiny sit out. I'm talking about The Premium Indulgence Room Lake View, needless to say every room is a Lake view. Nothing Premium about the room. Just a decent size room with just about average feel. The Bathrooms are large and nice, with a great shower and a decent bath tub. And that was the only good part about the room. The Checking in was smooth and I was assured it was a special room, as it was out Anniversary so we were given the best, however there was nothing special( have stayed at better not so special rooms). The Lobby is decently decorated with Kashmiri Artifacts, however the entire place looked too empty and vibe less so as to say. The lobby houses a coffee shop that looked barren as if someone has shut shop and left. One fine evening we went for a coffee and after sitting there for 10 minutes idle and noone around, had to walk up.to the lobby manager and request to send someone to take our order. And that was the case for the entire stretch of our stay, what I understood to the issue was lack of professionalism and training. And training they need alot to live up to the hospitality provided by the Taj Group. Anyways, that said, the saving grace was the Restaurant Manager, Mr. Devendra Kumar and his team Chef Abhishek, Chef Sewa Lal and Tariq, gentleman who used to serve us. They understood what we were missing and went out of their way to make sure we didn't have any complaints from the Kitchen, and there were none. Thanks Devendra, Abhishek, Sewa Lal and Tariq, we really appreciated all your service, warmth and care. However, the most horrific part was post check out as we headed to our car, suddenly we are mobbed by 7-8 people all rushing and pushing each other saying Bakseesh(Tips), ????.. thats something we give out of courtesy thanking someone for his service, anyways heard someone from background shouting he didn't get one...and it was bad. Never ever in my Life have I witnessed such a scene of the Hotels and Resorts I have traveled to or visited ever. Deplorable. I would conclude saying it was just about an Average Experience at Vivanta Dal View, Srinagar. P.S. They don't serve beer, supposedly out of stock.
