We had booked 3 rooms for our 7N/ 8D Kashmir package with Mr Sarwarji of Hotel JH BAZAZ . The moment you land in Srinagar leave everything to Mr Sarwarji the owner and manager, he is there to facilitate everything. He is warm, affable, and a welcoming person who will try to make your stay convenient and enjoyable. His caretaker Momin is disciplined and helpful. As it's a home converted to hotel there is no set rules, you always feel at home. The rooms and washroom are good. Breakfast and dinner is served in dining area where 12 people can sit at a time. All the while you are having dinner Mr Sarwarji will be constantly attending you. Dinner was lip smacking but breakfast needs improvement. For 3 days we did our sightseeing for Sonmarg, Srinagar local and Sinthan top from his hotel after this we moved to Pahalgam for 2 nights, this hotel we had booked of our own choice. Our last day was in Srinagar house boat. I had made a special request to give me a HB which is in clean water of Dal lake and not crammed among line’s of HB where the water is murky. He gave me a HB named Pamposh which was opposite Dal gate 12, it was clean and also had lawn where the kids could play. Overall you can blindly trust Mr Sarwarji for your package tour he is one-man army.

I'm from Malaysia and my friend is from Singapore. We stayed at this cozy place for 2 nights. First day arriving from Srinagar airport, 2nd day after we come back from the KGL trek. First impression of the room was neat and clean. The amenities in the toilet are adequate also. We were served with welcoming drinks (coffee or tea) and biscuits on both days of check-ins, which was very heartwarming. They also make sure all your needs and questions are answered. Oh, the location of the hotel is superb, far away from the noise of Dal Lake Road, near enough to walk to Dal Lake Road. When we asked to store our extra baggages at the hotel before we set off for the KGL trek, they never even charge us a penny. The host Sarwar even offered us a ride to a local tour guide that he has recommended even after we've checked out and stayed at a houseboat. We were just touched by his cordiality and hospitality. 100/100 recommended.

I stayed with Hotel JH Bazaz for the 2nd time and I loved the amazing hospitality by Mr. Sarwar and his staff. The rooms were really comfortable and the package we got from the hotel for 5 days and 4 nights took care of everything from transportation to food to shikaara rides to houseboat stay. The food is served hot and tastes amazing, feels like home. Visiting nearby attractions like Gulmarg, Sonamarg and local markets is made really easy with the guidance of the hotel staff. If you are looking for a pleasant stay in Srinagar, do go for JH Bazaz (The Happy Cottage) without any second thoughts. I can definitely assure that I would be back here soon :)

The location is at a stonethrow distance from Dal Lake. Rooms are very well equipped with all necessary facilities, wiz. room heaters, electric blankets, geyser, daily cleaning and housekeeping and etc. The property is adequately maintained and is very clean. Tarrif of the room is just and reasonable.
The most excellent part of our stay was the warm hospitality and service of the owner and staff. Their behaviour throughout our stay always made us feel at home ! Every day felt more beautiful than before ! We also got assistance in arranging car for sightseeing purposes at best rates. The owner helped us in every possible way !
Would definitely love to visit this place again and again ! Definitely highly recommended !

Excellent service & fantastic hospitality. My friend and I had an amazing stay at Hotel JH Bazaz. The owner, Sarwar and his staff have been extremely helpful and welcoming, even going out of their way to assist us. They shared with us many things about Kashmir, gave us many good recommendations and tips, and made us feel at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was definitely worth the price we paid. The location was awesome as it was away from the noise of the main street but still close enough (a 5 min walk with food stops along the way). *Long review alert* We went on a Kashmir trip with just confirmed flight tickets from 6th to 15th of Aug. It was so hard to decide on a hotel to stay on the boulevard in Srinagar because they all looked the same in pictures and had mixed reviews. So while boarding the flight I called JH Bazaz on a whim (based on great reviews) and booked a room for two days. And that turned out to be the best decision that I made on this trip. Mr. Sarwar is the best host I have EVER come across. Period. I have been a travel photographer for more than a decade and I have stayed in countless hotels and Homestays. But no host comes close to Sarwar bhai. The hotel itself is cozy, tucked away in the middle of an old yet peaceful residential area, behind Ghat 2. It’s far enough from the city traffic yet an easy 2 min walk to the boulevard. The rooms are spacious and clean with hot water available all day. Ask for the room with the balcony which is the best. The breakfast is great too. But what makes this place special is definitely the people- making it feel more like a homestay. The staff - Iqbal and Momin were always eager to help with warm smiles. This small property gives the star hotels a run for their money in terms of service and hospitality. Sarwar bhai helped us navigate through two difficult curfew days we had in Srinagar related to Muharam. Even after we checked out of the hotel, he was just a call away, unconditionally helping us plan our entire trip based on the Aug 15th uncertainty and additional security, arranging for trustworthy drivers at reasonable rates and suggesting great budget hotels that we thoroughly enjoyed staying at. He made us feel so welcome and part of the family, that coming back to JH Bazaz to catch the flight out, felt like coming back home. We could go back to Kashmir just to stay at JH Bazaz for a few days. That’s how much we loved being here. So if you dislike staying in large impersonal hotels and value human interaction and kindness, then you will love this place too. Thank you Sarwar bhai for making our trip an unforgettable one. We stayed here 4N 5D, rooms & toilet were clean , airy, well furnished and spacious, got great room service, food was very tasty. Faced no trouble to reach & stay there. We visited Gulmarg, Sonamarg day trips from here, the owner regularly kept in contact and with a great smile provided us early breakfast every time. Also went pahalgam from here keeping most of our luggage into their custody safely. We never received such warm hospitality in any hotels. It is in a walking distance from ghat no.1 (3mins), car parking available, car can reach there through ghat no.2. A small but beautiful lawn can heal eyes of tourists. It has power backup which is very important in Srinagar. Also individual geyser in toilet fulfilled our need of hot water anytime. We visited in a crowded season but owner arranged family room to early check in... We felt blessed as we arrived Srinagar from Leh!! Owners (father & son) are very gentle and careful about their guests. What more we can expect in a far location! A nice budget place to stay. The staff and the owner are very kind and supportive and have a lot of information about the place. Overall they make a good place to stay with a lot of comffort.
They prepare nice veg and non-veg food, really tasty @ affordable rates. I would recommend this hotels for the trekking or hiking guys

I visited here with my wife and i liked the property, food, service and most importantly Jawedbhai ( the owner of this property ) so much that i revisited this property again with my friends. Rooms are cosy and clean, breakfast and other meals are provided on time and are well prepared, tasty !! Also blindly go by his recommendations for sightseeing and the cars arranged by him are best. Their drivers act like a guide and ensure you are not trapped as tourists !! Overall highly recommend this stay if you have a tight budget and need a place value for money besides being closer to Dal lake !!

You are most welcome to jh bazaz, There is nothing to worry with the situation.
June, july and aug is mostly dry in kashmir. (no rainy season).
You will get snow at affarwath which is second level by Gondola. Cable car.
They do arrange travel services, not just local, even to gulmarg, pahalgam etc.,. The prices are reasonable not overcharged like other hotels. Its walkable to dal lake. Though the streets may be too narrow to reach, its short. They do have restaurants and made to order. Their restaurants provide all basic items. Try their veg briyani, you will love it.
There are more places to choose from in the Srinagar area.
