The Shelter Group of Houseboats is only houseboats in valley knows how important the sense of security and safety is to all its guests. Hence, a special effort is made at all our houseboats to ensure that guest security and the houseboats security takes precedence over any other objective.The Lal Mandi Road is security patrolled by security guards and all emergency plans well in place. The houseboats is located in high security zone and shares the VIP road and political residence on another side of the shore, both well guarded by BSF.

Stayed in the deluxe room of The Shelter Group of Houseboats between Jan. 21-24 2019. Situated at a very central location with very pleasant staff. They organized an amazing tour of the city and outskirts for us. Srinagar was very cold at this time, but we managed with their Bukhari (fireplace) and electric blankets, despite power cuts. The food provided was delicious and ample. I would definitely recommend these houseboats for young travelers.

The house is so nice and the owner is so kind and welcome. It had been fun every day. Before we went there, we are afraid that we cannot eat Indian food. However, the staff is so nice that we can request what kind of food we want to have each meal (For example, we are from Thailand, therefore, we asked them to cook in Thai style such as Thai-ish fried chicken). The food there was awesome! We went there in Winter and the house is warm (with the manual heater available inside). However, the dining area is a little bit cold since there is no heater in that room. Overall, the best experiences in Kashmir. Would suggest anyone to stay there!

Just to share most people at Srinagar and Kashmir are very kind and helpful. Our 6D5N Kashmir Trip was awesome as we got best tour service from Royal India Expedition. Thanks to Mr Aijaz for good arrangements for six of us. We enjoyed stay at houseboat which is located at Jhelum River. The experienced we had are so memorable. The decorations inside are very nice. We also enjoyed with the food. The staff are very good as they took care all of us like a family. In short, the accomodations and hospitality provided were excellent. If someone out there who is looking to visit Kashmir I strongly recommend The Shelter Group of Houseboats as your place to stay and also The Shelter Heritage, A Boutique Hotel.

The owner is very helpful and so nice. He advice in everything and it help us a lot. The staffs are nice, good english. The food is good, hot and delicious. The location is very close to the local market. It’s easily to walk in the evening. Good place to stay in Kashmir.

I loved my stay there. All types of facilities are available in the room. Specially I want to mention about the hospitality of the hosts there. They took care of every bit of our stay in the houseboat. In addition to that they also helped us with very efficient guidance about our trip. I would definitely recommend this.

I stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderfull time. It's a most welcoming place, with great people that taking care of everything. They helped me to organize my trip around srinagar and kashmir valley, and thanks to them I had a wonerfull trip. VERY recommended!

I have short Holiday to Kashmir and choose to stay at The shelter group of houseboat for 3 nights Because reviews of people from my country and professional way they respond my inquiry. During stay I feel like stay with my grandparent place not shelter, they treat me like family member, very comfortable and arrange everything perfectly. It was very safe even for Solo female tourist. The area is near Lal chowk just for 10 mins walk so you will not feel bore. They can cook simply Thai foods which i love it. Thank you Aijaz for your kind arrangement and Ishu - my smart guide for wonderful accompany. Will be back for sure!
