The Shelter Group of Houseboats is only houseboats in valley knows how important the sense of security and safety is to all its guests. Hence, a special effort is made at all our houseboats to ensure that guest security and the houseboats security takes precedence over any other objective.The Lal Mandi Road is security patrolled by security guards and all emergency plans well in place. The houseboats is located in high security zone and shares the VIP road and political residence on another side of the shore, both well guarded by BSF.

I had such a wonderful time at the Flostel! I was slightly nervous about traveling to Srinagar by self as a woman alone , but Shafi and his family made me feel right at home. It's a traditional houseboat right on the river near the city center but very quiet and peaceful. He kindly helped me organize trips suited to my interests and I had an awesome time with the welcoming and funny driver, Tariq. There's so much to do in Srinagar, I wish I could have stayed longer. Shafi and his family made my experience unforgettable and I highly recommend this stay to anyone interested in Srinagar!

My stay at the Shelter Group of Houseboats was absolutely wonderful. Even though I was traveling solo, the host provided amazing service that made me feel truly welcomed. The food they offered was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised by how cooperative the driver was. Upon my request, the host even assisted me with local shopping, helping me explore and purchase beautiful Kashmir carpets and exquisite paper machie work

Too good to stay.. tried something different this time for stay.. the staff is really sweet and helpful. The ambience, the designs in the room is what we search in old desings.. definitely recommended if looking for houseboats

Our experience on the houseboat was truly delightful. The staff was exceptionally pleasant, and the meals they provided were absolutely outstanding, giving us a feeling of being right at home. The host's offer of reasonably priced cab services was a convenient option, and we chose to utilize this service for transportation to and from Srinagar airport. The houseboat's central location, near Lal Chowk, added an extra layer of convenience to our stay.

The condition of the houseboat was very poor and poorly maintained. During our one-night stay, we experienced frequent power outages, and the staff blamed it on the public power supply. However, it was evident that the issue was specific to the houseboat as all the surrounding areas, including street lights and nearby houseboats, had electricity. Furthermore, the location of the houseboat was not in Dal Lake, which made it even less desirable. Yatra.com recommended this houseboat as their best option, but it turned out to be a disappointment. I strongly advise against booking any trips with Yatra.com, as it can negatively impact your travel experience.

I stayed both the property of shelter group along with my family. the host was wonderful and food was amazing as per our taste. The trip was very well organised. From Srinagar airport and Jammu railway station. The driver , hotel staff was very cordial.

Plan was just made 15days ahead to go to kashmir on 7th june..we started with booking shelter houseboat as wen wanted to be close to main market place at Lalchowk..The owner, Mr. Saifi was a warm, soft and very helpful from the very beginning of our conversation and remained till end..We went to book entire package with him for 7 day trip to kashmir..All the itinerary was planned by him which was well executed including our 2 day stay at Pahalgam..Packages also included our day travel to gulmarg and sonemarg..and of course the evening Shikara ride in Dal lake.Houseboat stay was also pleasant and all the staff team were very helpful and quick to our needs..everything was neat and clean with extensive kashmiri furnishings and carvings..Food was also good and homely..Mr. saifi has been very helpful, patient and honest answering every query of us..Also we overpaid through some faulty Paytm transactions which were returned to us later after delhi arrival...Thanks for the well planned hasselfree trip which was also light on our pockets..I would definitely like it to recommend it to others who want to travel hasselfree in a mid budget plan.…
