Mahjong group of houseboats consists on a fleet of premier class houseboats having 32 rooms capacity which include double,single and family rooms with extra beds facility. All houseboats in the group are centrally heated with attached baths. These houseboats are located in one of the most beautiful parts of world famous Dal Lake, with a magnificent view of Zabarwan mountain range and sacred Mahadev peak . The main attraction of this area is the bustling market on water known as 'Old City' which is close to where Mahjong houseboats are moored. Free breakfast is served to our guests on board. Our guests are also eligible to have a dinner free of cost. They can also enjoy a boat ride around the lake without any extra charges. On arrival every guest is served famous brew of Kashmir known as 'kehwa' as a special treat. Free boat crossings are also available to them round the clock. We also have a dinning hall setup in a garden having seating capacity for 100 people where buffet is served.

Located at the far end of the lake ( as compared to the many boats which are closer to the port/ghat/jetty), takes a good 20-25 mins to reach from the mainland. We took two rooms .. maintenance of the rooms are just about ok. The food dishes out though slow tasted very good. The owners are a pleasure to chat up with. Lovely views of the sun .. and the mountains around. Being here only for a night we could do the vegetable floating market , shikara ride etc. Overall an ok place to stay for a night and maybe not more!

The Houseboat was overall good but there was one major drawback...there was no jet or sparay in the Toilet. i guess that is the basic amenities which is missing here. Rest everything was similar to 5 star property.

- The house boats are situated in a quiet area of the Dal lake, surrounded with lotus gardens on 3 sides. - The staff is very warm & courteous. - The food is delicious - The morning floating vegetable market is a short Shikara ride away

Recently had the opportunity to stay in the famous houseboat accommodation in Dal lake, after a gruelling 6 days trek. Genuinely felt like “ jannat” after all the hardships earlier. We stayed in a houseboat called “ Cherry Ripe” owned by Noor bhai. The interiors/ decor were authentic Kashmiri and tastefully done with all the modern amenities in place. It has multiple rooms ( with attached bathrooms ) a drawing hall ,dining room and a mini kitchenette. Noor Bhai’s residence is right behind the houseboat. Staff was extremely polite and very happy to serve us. Food was excellent. The cook actually enquired if we would like to eat anything specific. In the night, a camp fire was lit and we were served hot tea / coffee / kahwa with local Cookies. Noor bhai personally checked on us a couple of times. We also had the opportunity to travel with him in a shikara on our return journey. That’s when we realised inspite of many hurdles ( floods, article 370, Covid etc ) how passionate he is about innovating and expanding his venture. Thanks so much Noor bhai for a wonderful stay. We visited Kashmir in March ,2019 from U.S against advise due to Media scare. Our stay in Luxury House boat by Mahajong was wonderful. Beautiful experience, excellent food & hospitality. Rooms were nicely kept. Staff was very attentive to all our needs. View was beautiful. Were able to get some nice shopping done through many vendors who came to the houseboat. It was absolutely safe to visit Kashmir. Were able to roam around freely without any restrictions. Went to Gulmarg, Pahalgam & Srinagar. Danish made excellent arrangements for all our trip & made our dream visit to this Land of Paradise very enjoyable & memorable. Would highly recommend everyone to use Danish & his travel agency & Mahajong Houseboat for all your travel needs in Kashmir. Would love to visit again in very near future during summer time. …

I have been treated like a king or perhaps a maharajah. I was promptly met at the airport even though the plane was late. I was taken to my lodging, a houseboat on Dal lake via a shikara, a small boat. The houseboat was luxurious with lots of fine woodwork and a nice Kashmir carpet. I was overwhelmed by the opulence. On the houseboat I was well fed and taken care of. I was met with Kashmiri kehwa. The food was prepared on the houseboat by the caretaker and was plentiful and excellent. I had both dinner and breakfast aboard. Traveling here from the United States made me slightly hesitant but I was well taken care of. I highly recommend this location. The house boat stay on the dal lake is perhaps my favourite part of Kashmir, especially this house boat the view from Mahjong house boat is spectacular and the staff there and owner became our good friends. Defiantly recommend Mahjong house boat. Can’t wait to sip my khawa tea soon. Rooms were neat and toilet was clean, they even provided us extra heaters when asked.

Excellent houseboat. We stay for 2 nights here. Mr Danish and team very helpfull n friendly, so we stay here feel like at our own home. Very peacefull n excellent view of Dal lake. The room also big and clean with authentic kashmirian style. The food great taste. Very recomended houseboat. If I come back to srinagar I will stay here again.
