Extremely poor check in experience. We booked for 3 pax in one room through MMT and there was confusion about the extra bed charges. Check in staff was rude & arrogant, did not allow even 2 pax to check in (which was already paid upfront). Was rude when enquired about wifi access. Unprofessional. It appears it's owned by a local owner who has taken franchise of international brand. The service is typically Indian 2* level. 1. 10k rs per night for an unprofessional and badly managed hotel and you need an auto everytime for dal lake and back. You can get decent hotel rooms near dal lake for half price around 5-6 k per night. 2. I bought a gas cooking stove from Punjab which I would take to UK. Went through other airports and hotels no problems. Here they took it out of my suitcase as they said it's a safety issue!! I told them it's not connected to gas neither is there a gas pipe in their room so how can it be a issue. They refused to listen. When I was leaving the guy said it was actually ok to keep it as management realised this later. When I told them why didn't they tell me so I could packed it in my suitcase case evening before checkout, instead of opening my baggage and packing in the reception he had no answer. I also cut my finger when packing and blood was everywhere in the reception. 3. Now the worst. When leaving I told the girl at reception is everything settled she nodded in approval. I left to go to Pahalgam at 8.30. At just after 12 pm my driver got a call from them saying I had left without paying. When I spoke to them they showed their true colours and got very rude saying he had me on CCTV and would report me to the police. I told him I left after being told bill was settled, also I had given them my card details online. I left in a relaxed manner and they put my bags in my car, that they can also see also from CCTV. Then he got even more rude continued threats and told me to send photos via mobile to him of my card. When I told him I had prepaid SIM and it stopped working when I arrived in Kashmir, he then told me to send images of my credit card using other people's phones! I then assured him on my return in the evening I would settle. But he carried on with his threats. He also claimed someone has been dismissed because of this. This now ruined my trip in Pahalgam. On return, I went there settled my bill and complained to a manger there. I checked my phone using WiFi and at 11.30 they had tried twice with my card details to debit my account which they were unable to do so I asked him where that person was who spoke to me rudely and that they are welcome to now call the police. The manager tried his best to smooth things over and apologised. But being a regular traveller to India I know these people easily lie, in order to cover themselves up. In conclusion it's an international brand in name only, but management and administration is typical Indian style 2* star hotel level.…

We had an excellent stay at the Sheraton, the staff is very kind and super helpful!! The breakfast buffet is vast and full of diverse choices! Adnan made us a delicious omelette!!! Thanks to all the people at the hotel for a warm and memorable experience!
