Meridien is located in Rajbagh an upmarket residential area in Srinagar so you see more locals than tourists. It faces the Jhelum river and has a some houseboats visible .Yet if you walk ten minutes over a wooden bridge you are right in the midst of the main shopping area. The hotel has about 20 odd rooms but unquestionably the garden is the prime attraction with a lush lawn and profusely blooming flowers and fruits. We had snacks at 14th Avenue - a nicely done place just beside the entrance of Meridien. They serve superb chicken grilled sandwiches and coffee. This place is small but always bustling with local clientele from the time it opens till closing. Infact on our way out to the airport we dropped in especially to pick a bite to tide us over the long wait that Srinagar airport requires!!

Our stay at The Meridien, Raj Bagh, was a wonderful experience. Me & my wife along with my 2 sisters' families took 3 rooms and stayed from 22nd April till 27th April. Right from picking us at the airport ( my flight was delayed, so they picked my sister's family and after dropping them at hotel, came to pick us up). We found the hotel exactly as we saw on the internet. No made up photos. Rooms were beautifully kept, hygienic washrooms. Everyday the rooms and washrooms were cleaned after we left for sightseeing. We had washed some inner garments, which we left for drying in the washrooms. The housekeeping was kind enough to dry it in the sun and hand over the garments after we came back.
The staffs were always ready for service with a smile. Even @ 10:30pm when we needed hot drinking water, the room service did with a welcome attitude.
The staffs, Aarif, Nisar, room service staff Farook were a pleasant team to stay with.
Though they had not mentioned about the restaurant, we found the dining experience excellent. Preparation was excellent, though we didn't have food many times in their restaurant. One day we requested to have breakfast in the lawns and they obliged and we had a good experience.
We had hired cab Mr. Riaz ph : 09622443034. A perfect gentleman to travel with family. We were so happy we invited ourselves to his house to make the payment for his services, and we were treated with tea and snacks and followed by Ghawa tea.

I found the hotel very comfortable - the staff and waiters were exceedingly nice and caring - Kashmiri hospitality at its best! Room service was unbelievably prompt! A lovely garden with lots of flowers and birds hopping around as you sit in the sun!

We stayed for 5 nights during our visit to Kashmir. Rooms are good, comfortable and very clean. The cleaning staff are punctual and see to it that the tourists are happy. Very near to the city and airport and still free from the city noise. Felt relaxed and had a homly stay. Also had a relaxed and sound sleep at night .

It has a good location, around 20 minutes from the airport. It is a nice, quiet and cozy place. Our room was neat and very spacious. There is a nice well maintained lawn and garden where you can relax with a hot cup of Kehwa..The food was good (we ordered a la carte) and very reasonably priced. What we liked best was the staff, all of them were very friendly and courteous, and would like to make a special mention of Mr Firdous. They were especially concerned about the room amenities and food and ready to oblige with a solution for everything. We stayed for 4 nights (we kept Srinagar as the base and after local sighseeing, we did day trips to Sonmarg and Dudhpathri) and we enjoyed our stay at this hotel..
