We reached Sri Nagar, Kashmir in the afternoon.Lovely day.Not so cold. From the airport went straight to the house boat and the name of the house boat was Prince Of Kashmir. To go to the house boat have to use shikara ( beautiful decorated sampan) rowed by one of the workers. We enjoyed the ride on shikara and will remember this for life. You have to be there to enjoy this experience and the beautiful scenery as words cant describe them very much. The house boat itself was simply beautiful with carving and fully carpeted in the interior. I was a bit surprised as from a far I thought the boat was in the water but in reality it was static and most of its foundation were on land just jutting over to the lake. I liked the way the owner build up the property by having the living…
We stayed there for a couple of nights. Interior is superb. The boat is a bit congested nut once you enter room, it is stunning... When we reached there, it was raining heavily, so that made the visit all the more memorable. Staff was very courteous.. If you are visiting Srinagar, visit this houseboat... God bless you guys!!
The house boat is accommodation over the lake, and the boat is not moving. The interior is unique, like traditional house . As the house boat is not big, the alley is also small but the bed room size is okay. There is no air conditioner in each unit, that made the bed room was warm during summer. You cannot expect a fancy accommodation in house boat, as the equipment and amenities were very basic. Dinner and breakfast is served in the garden attached to the boat. The chef was very nice and helpful and tried to accommodate our food preferences. As the houseboat is located next to each other , your room view is another boat and not the lake. You can see people walk inside their boat. Way to the restaurant is also close to the window of the boat.
Maharaja Suite in Meena Mahal House Boat was very perfectly designed, decorated and nice to stay. Wash room need some upliftment. Food : really for vegetarians - need extra efforts to improve. Staff was courteous and helpful. Internet was not operational.
We stayed here for 3 nights while we were in Sri Nagar and I must say that it was very enjoyable. We were 6 adults and 3 kids. The houseboats are spacious and well maintained. They have the old age charm and the service provided was also quite good. Our care taker was a sweet old man who seemed delighted to have us and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was at the adjoining mess behind the houseboat which was also quite nice. All in all we had a good time and will definitely book Meena Houseboats the next time we visit Sri Nagar.
