Royal hotel , a legacy of Rajput Dogra Rulers . Very emotionally attached with this epitome of luxury , have fond memories of my beloved father Er. Arjun Singh bhau Ji . i make a point to visit this lovely grandeur when ever I m in Jammu . Service top notch Recommendation Do sit in the lawns in the evening with your favourite drink and people .
My third visit. View fantastic. Food excellent. Rooms slightly tired but OK. Byzantine splitting of bill into four separate ones and the demand that one of them had to be be paid in cash was a tawdry attempt to skim by the manager on duty. Goes without saying that I won't be back. I told him that decent straight service would have earned a decent tip, given the circumstances the only tips he got were "don't eat yellow snow and don't smoke in bed".
Avoid this hotel if you are looking for a clean room and well maintained hotel. Food is okay. Not bad. Service was a mix. Some staff was good some was not. Front office guy at checkin misguided a bit. I would prefer to stay somewhere else during my next visit.
We stayed in this hotel from 16-Feb-2022 to 17-Feb-2022. This is an excellent heritage hotel and a museum. Rooms are nice & provide an excellent view of the valleys. Hotel staffs & reception provides a good service. Recommend hotel for the location, facilities & ambiance
Been here tons of time all through my life being a Jammuite. Service is okay though delayed most of the times.. but never expected to be told alcoholic beverages are off the menu post 9 PM while the bartender was serving Martini to another customer. This diffentiation of customers is shambolic. Locations A class. Wish it was managed by better hospitality service.
It was amazing experience there. Actually we have not stayed there. but we were there for attending the marriage of my colleague. It was great. The location was very nice. The river is just behind. The overall time spent there awesome.
Well the hotel is located on a small hill on the bank of river Tawi. The scenic beauty is worth admiring. The architecture and the ambience of the hotel gives you a royal treat. The hospitality is royal too. The service, house keeping & the food all are just great. Only thing is that the rooms are slightly smaller but it has all the amenities. The best part is to enjoy the dinner on the green lawns from where you get a good scenic view with a light breeze.
Road side provides better service then this.water glass of three types had been given.they took one hour to serve you your order.no finger bowl, at the time of billing no fennel seeds/freshner been given.overall worst service.
The palace now converted to hotel has royal vibes and big rooms with scenic views. I have stayed here multiple times since my childhood but this time I felt that the hotel needs better maintenance. The heaters are olden age and need an upgrade in this chilly winter. Overall I feel they should upgrade to maintain the royal standard feel of the hotel. The staff is courteous and ready to help. The manager Nakul and at the front desk Ashu were approachable and helpful. It’s a great place if you have kids as they have a big lawn where kids love to play.
Hari niwas is 19th century fort converted into hotel and when you live there you would be part of history. You feel the vibes of an age old tradition. The location on the bank's of river taqi will make you feel the serenity without losing the touch to city. Prefer river view rooms and you would love a good morning sunrise. The evenings are made great by the live music and the choicest of Jammu crowd in the lawns. Just great.
