Manali is very crowded during season time, so this place was a great relief away from the crowded areas. The rooms were spacious and very clean. We got homely wholesome meals.

The ambience & decor were excellent and the service very good. If you go in a group this place is a home away from home where you can enjoy the common living & dining rooms. You don't get cooped up in your own rooms as you would in a typical hotel. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms for larger groups. You also get a decent view of the mountains. I would definitely recommend Wood valley

One awesome place to spend your winter holidays in manali.. n name that would come to my mind would be wood valley. 6 friends + wood valley cottage with double room is completely fun.Specially our travel agent ( Antilog Vacations) which planned a great Shimla-Manali tour for us and arranging everything at very good rates

If I start rating hotel on few of parameters, I would simply like to rate it for its rooms, homely service, food, fun activities, serene environment and majestic mountain view.

• Location: While you can find many places for stay on mall road in Manali, I would rather prefer to walk a kilometre and stay in wood valley. Situated in midst of valley, its rather seated in very calm place.
• Rooms: Rooms are quite big with double bed comfortable enough for 3 people. Rooms were clean and cosy. Bathrooms were good with nice fittings.
• Food: We had opted for continental plan that included complimentary breakfast with stay. Chef was very good and provide a very good homely food. After 1 day only , we liked food so much that we asked to include dinner also in plan. Quality and taste of food, both were mind blowing. Great to have good food on vacations that is hardly available.
• Fun: Quite a good facilities are available in terms of skiing in winters , paragliding etc. At time when we visited it was snowing heavily, so skiing was really fun. During our 4 day stay we had just developed good friendship with hotel staff and hotel manager even arranged a bonfire for a party at night. Tha was one of a night I would say.. Relived my hostel moments after almost an year.
• Service of hotel staff: Have never experience such a service during peak season.. at time usually these hotel owners are just trying to make more and more of money but this hotel was absolutely different. It provided awesome experience within hotel

• I would just say if u wanna enjoy your vacations go and have some fun in wood valley

Dec 2015 I was at the Wood Valley Cottage Manali. Lovely quiet place, elegant hotel with old world charm. Rooms are spacious with big bathrooms. The view from the room we stayed in was great. Staff is good and courteous. We were a big group and hence we booked the entire cottage. A special mention about Mr Prem the owner who was very helpful from the bookings till checkout. Overall a brilliant property with amazing ambiance, awesome cooks, and a friendly owner

We always wanted to go to a place in summers where kids could get relief from the heat of Delhi... So we decided to go to Manali during vacations.. And so found this beautiful cottage which is owned by Sh.Prem ji.. A very respectful and humble person.. We went with our family and kids felt as if they have got another home out of home ... The helpers and workers also didn't let us feel out the place.. The cook cooked food as per our requirement.. Just like home comes food.. There was no difference at all.. They have a room with loft sleeping area for kids..it was a very nice experience.. The view from the balcony is very very beautiful. U can see snow covered mountains sitting in your room itself.. This cottage is just a km away from mall road which is just in the middle of the city.. In the stay of 4 days we all enjoyed a lot.. Its a clean , well-maintained cottage.. I strongly recommend this cottage for a fabulous stay in Manali

We travelled with family on 5th to 9th July 2013 and stayed at Wood valley cottage, as promised Mr Prem provided us with ground floor rooms. Excellent rooms and very well maintained. Even though we have not taken additional site seeing service, Woodvalley was ready to provide any time if required...

Special thanks to cook Mr. Arun and Mr. Rinku and staff who where very cooperative and ready to cook for us any thing we would prefer made our Manali tour memorable.

Only suggestion to Mr Prem is to consider keeping a pedestal fan and mosquito repellent in bedrooms as during July month at times it becomes warm and mosquitoes can be kept away.

Thanks,
Binu Raj & Family

Have just been back from a family trip to Manali. Stayed at wood valley cottage and completely enjoyed the stay. To review the place let me list down the fab things about it -

1) Location: Manali, by the virtue of its popularity, is a very crowded place..having been there, I now understand how much I would have despised any place close to the mall road. About an kilometer away from manali, in the quiet Aleo makes its locations just ideal for a summer retreat. The view from its balcony is also amazing..all that you see are fields in the valley of mountains.

2) Price: I was quite amazed to discover how expensive all the decent places in Manali were - again the popularity of place to be blamed. As per the kind of service they provided, this place was quiet economical and indeed a big value for money.

3) Ergonomics: Since it was a cottage, loved the fact that it was so made like home..just loved their drawing and living room that came along with the two bedrooms. Otherwise also, the entire cottage was also very cosily furnished. Most importantly, bathrooms were also immaculately clean with good fittings.

4) Food: We took breakfast and dinner in our package. The cook made the food in the personal kitchen in our cottage, according to our preferences. Special Kudos to this gorkha cook. He made absolutely delectable food, with as many as three/four dished in a meal...quality of food as another thing we were completely overwhelmed with!

So if you are going for a family holiday, this is a highly recommended place. I would not call the place an exotic one, so don't expect luxuries like internet/wifi, swimming pool and spa. But yes, a comfortable, cosy and peaceful stay is something you will definitely get.
