We had our meeting organised in surya palace.
In today's situation when it is get together, the first thing comes in mind is safety and we were well satisfied with safety precautions and hygiene maintained here.
Social distance seating, hand sanitizer and mask were available at places and even the staff were also followed the guidelines.
Lunch was also good.
We would like to thank all organizer and especially Ms.Poonam who ensures us every time whenever we need something and also very well organized.
Many thanks to poonam for making a wonderful event as expected.

How I can forget that day, 31th July 2019. I was there in Vadodara on my official tour; I went to Hotel Grand Mercure as I had my Accor membership over there. I met Mr. Pramod Dashora, GM (Not sure about his post) very professional man. That day after check-in I went to Waghodia and due to heavy rain all city entrance were blocked and sealed due to heavy water logging in all areas specially the station areas where all hotels are located nearby. That was the last day before the CHAUMASA (the period of four month in which normally Non-Veg food is restricted) so I was eager to reach hotel for awesome CKP non-veg food (festival was going on).
As all city roads were closed due to water logging being Mumbaikar, I decided to go through running water currents about waist high. I reached hotel at about 11.45 pm whereas my collogues took shelter in Hotel Fern. It was very critical period of next 36 hours which Mr. Pramod managed with total staff of 36 and no raw material supply of milk, fresh vegetables and fresh staff.
That night, after reaching hotel I tried to have good food but alas! Due to tiredness, I could have only nominal food. Next day morning we got good breakfast and lunch but then cutting in food started, we got limited food items (not quantity) in the dinner, people were irritated due to water logging nobody was able to move, cable connections were cut, no news from outside only dirty water and enthusiastic people. Those rich and powerful people started threatening hotel staff to do something or they will give negative feedback on all websites, the girls working on reception counter were not able to seat for even minute or two, continuous phone calls and customers residing in hotel kept them busy. Housekeeping staff busy removing water, kitchen staff heavily loaded. There were no relievers for them.
Hats off to the man who managed this show in the most crucial period in the history of Vadodara

Ring ceremony &wedding @ royal & cyrstal hall surya palace grand Mercure

I had a ring ceremony & wedding booking initially for large people and was worried about the wedding
I spoke to Ms. Punam , she ensured me that she will make the wedding without any issue and she did as said and ensured.

She was there for almost everytime whenever we required something, she even supported for bride room to get ready and we requested for BMW car for transportation, and as promised Ms.punam has made every thing in time and ensured as well.

Overall it was good experience, food was delicious and all the facilities inside are best i had seen. All the staff members was very supportive and was there at right time, and Ms. Punam ensured someone should stay with us to fulfill whatever we asked for . This show a great leader skill and she will grow to higher extent.

I stayed at the property for two days and found the property to be very average. Claiming to be a 5-star hotel the rooms and their condition did not comply with the rating they claim to have. The room service was really delayed and the air conditioning in one room had water dripping from it and in the other, it was making a weird noise. Just before checking in at this property, I had stayed at grand Mercure gift city where the stay was made very comfortable by the management. Here the hotel even denied us having breakfast in the restaurant post 10:00 am saying they have to sanitise the restaurant which seemed really rude on their part.

Also, while we made the bookings we made sure to check the property had a pool and had cross-verified it as well on arriving we saw the pool was not functional, and the gym area had a different smell in it which was not bearable.

Would not recommend this property to anyone if they are looking for a 5-star stay.

Overall, the stay was okay- but we had to negotiate with the staff a lot for it. We were first given extremely small rooms. For the price we paid (which was similar to Vivanta and Sayaji), we expected space and service like Vivanta and Sayaji! After multiple phone calls, they moved us into larger rooms which had an extremely small television and dilapidated furniture. In a twin sharing room, they just had one sofa chair- we had to again make a call for another one to be arranged. One would know that this hotel was recently acquired by Grand Mercure and there was still A LOT of work that needs to be done. Breakfast was satisfactory but kind of mundane- without a time extension on a holiday! We waited for the bell boy for around 20 minutes (and called the reception twice) before carrying our luggage to the reception ourselves for check out.

I have stayed many times in this Hotel. I am a Platinum member so I have good perspective how hotels in accorehotels should look like. I found the following gaps:
1. Although I am a Platinum member, I was not greeting as that. I didnt have teh feeling the receptionist was aware of that.
2. Breakfast is bad. I mentioned it before. Its mainly Indian cuisine, I had nothing to eat in breakfast...just fruits.
3. My room #1912 was facing constant noise from the street/outside. I am not sure the room is isolated for noises.
4. When check out, the lady did not ask how was my stay. Again, most likely she was not aware of my Platinum.
5. Breakfast in 3/5 was so busy and many people, it seemed as the staff was incapable to clean the tables, and refill the Buffet. I had nothing to eat and I was very dissapointed.
6. Until my last stay, this hotel was my first choice in Vadodara, this is not the case for my next visit.

I had terrible experince with this property. Firstly, in breakfast the buffet has limited spread and also, you need to be careful, when you order something they would send the bill at your table.

At the buffet i was offered the pineapple juice and guests across the table were offered the fresh organge juice.When i requested a waiter for the same,he said its not part of the buffet and would be charged for.I stay in hotels across India for months but i have never come across this trend which is rather disappointing.

I shared the same feedback with Amit ( F& B manager), who rather than understanding the problem at hand and rectifying it by providing the juice complementary ,asked me if i wanted to have the organge juice and at the time of exit handed me a bill.

Hospitality is more than just providing a place to stay,Its about going out of the way to serving the client so that they choose your hotel again and again.With service i doubt that i will stay here again and neither would i recommend this hotel to anyone in my professional network.

Having been travelling to india every year month of January, for the last 15yrs and making a point of staying at this hotel for 7 to 9 days I find that standard has gone down.
Room hot water issues
Breakfast choices are minimal
No butter, jam,honey individual sachets
Found that area messy filthy
Changes have happened but not for the good.
Gym is very out date decrepit years I have been visiting no equipment has been updated some of them out of use.
This time railway transfer in the morning no complimentary as a loyal customer I was disappointed
I tried to book a room 10th feb and was Quoted price well above market 25% more
I then decided to book Sayaji and the rate was 2500 rupees less. As a Grand Mercury member I should have been offered a better deal.
Like Hilton IHG were I am member
And I get some privilege on my accommodation.
The restaurant have stopped giving proper napkins and now only provide tissues.

1) Check in time is 2.00 pm
Got 2 rooms on time and 1 room by 3.30 pm
2) suite rooms were spacious
3) room service was pathetic, had to call 3-4 times atleast for anything.
4) the worst part was the breakfast, I have never had anything bad than this in any hotel. Such a third grade experience.
5) Liquor shop guy is very oversmart and will try everything to waste your money on online permit procedure, don't know why.
6) Valet guy Madhav, ruined the experience even more after check out.
I lost my valet card and told him to take my id copy and check the paper in the car.
Wasted my 15 minutes arguing with this foolish guy to get my key.

Would never visit again.

This was a memorable day for me...it was my wedding reception and I received a significant adjustment in price.i also was able to customise the plan regarding the decoration and menu as per my comfort. The services were best. I received various complementary services out of which the night stay on the same reception night was the main attraction. The room was large and spacious with all the modern amenities like warm water, complimentary breakfast and temperature regulation exactra. My event organiser was Miss Poonam Kumari.she helped me to to make my stay and my event as relaxing as possible. The food and the other services were remarkable. My relatives and guest were very happy with the services and the decorations.I would recommend this for all of my friends and family.thanks a lot "The Hotel Surya Palace".
