Maneland Jungle Lodge is designed to match the asthetics of the area & stylized using local material & construction techniques. The lodge nestling in small hills offers a perfect blend of the wild, exciting & even romantic experience of the forest.Gir - a proud heritage possessed by the present generation, is not merely a heaven of wildlife. It symbolizes history , that has witnessed the vicissitudes of nature, the travails of wildlife development, the gradual recognition given to this nature's bestowal, and consequent emergence of conservation ideology. Despite the onslaught of biotic disturbances and climatic hostilities, Gir - with its virginal identity, stands as a testimony of nature's intrinsic self reviving power. Gir promises to unfold before you the unexplored vistas of wilderness and the splendour of wildlife, which is tranquil yet vibrant, serene yet colourful, silent yet communicative, distracting and yet captivating. It took a royal decline to an offer of a lion hunt and then nearly a whole of a hundred years to pull the Asiatic Lion back from the brink of near extinction. Now that the species seems finally secure, the management is faced with another paradox. Unaware of the awe they continue to inspire and retaliatory risks they face, the lion tends to follow it's wild instincts and venture out of man-made boundaries and reach upto the waves of the Arabian sea. The Asian Lion is amongst the rarest animals in the world and its best to visit him in summer, where the trees are bare, the grass has withered and he's down at the watering holes to quench his thirst. As you roam the sanctuary you'ed encounter the straight probing gaze of a Nilgai, the flighty stare of a Chital and if you're lucky the stralthy menance of the Leapord or the gentle call of a Lioness to her cubs. Only if man would make an attempt to understand that! Perhaps, you would!

We arrived at Sasan at Night & the resort is little off track from the main road, making you feel entering Jungle (Feels Thrilling & Excited). The property is well maintained, clean & very courteous staff. The food is very delicious. The property wall touches the boundary wall of the sanctuary & is only about 1 km from the Gir Sadan from you get passes for safari. The Owner makes you feel more & can increase your knowledge of the environment & beauty of Jungle. One can enjoy the roar of animals, the sighting of stars, pleasure of listening the sound of birds. One can enjoy peace, enjoy yoga, feel breeze & get true leisure time (get disconnected from outside world, no phone network, none to disturb) & enjoy company of your family.

Location is right in the jungle. We did spot few peacocks here. Early morning breakfast with theplas/parathas and ghee was awesome. Tea was very refreshing. Had bonfire in the evening. The pool at the backside is also good. Property has stone construction so the overall look of the property is a bit different - like a haveli. Rooms were clean with private balcony. Lodge is near to Devalia safari park. We had booked safari at the Gir Lion reserve.Pick up was at 5 am. We were on route 5 in the lion reserve and lucky to spot a lion. Overall a very nice experience

The rooms are spacious and well maintained and have all the modern amenities like AC, wifi, small flat TV with cable connection. The host is quite hospitable and they have a local kitchen where you can enjoy the freshly cooked food. The highway is a 300m walk from the resort so if you would and there are some eating joints there as well. As a side note remember to book you safari trip in advance as they get filled up pretty fast.

Date of visit - Dec 28, 2018: This is a place I would recommend for its beautiful landscaping, very clean rooms, excellent staff and food and Full marks to the Manager, Mr Hemant Sharma, who runs the place like his home. Unlike many other places I have stayed at, he would guide you on what to do, is extremely accommodating, and very pleasant and professional to talk to. If I go to Gir again, I would chose to stay only at this place.

We booked this Jungle Lodge just a few days in advance so we paid a much higher price for the same acco compared to what I see advertised now for this property. The location is fine since it is closer to the National Park entrance but if you have your own mode of transport, I don't think that matters so much. The rooms/cottages are decent sized but the overall upkeep of the lodge definitely needs a push. There were no bedside tables - had to ask for a chair to keep stuff beside the bed. No kettle in room, flush had to be asked to be repaired. Lights were semi-functional, geyser stopped giving warm water after 30 seconds and the outdoors were dusty and reflected negligence. The one thing that we really didn't understand though is the attitude of the manager! The owner/manager is a peculiar guy who makes you feel utterly unwelcome at the property to the extent that when we did complain about the dust and other lack of amenities, he actually brazenly said "Why don't you go and stay at the Taj"! Thankfully we had not booked any meals, so I have no idea about that. But overall, it was a disappointing experience given that the place really had good reviews to go for! I hope ours was an isolated incident and tourists generally don't face such issues!

We stayed for 2 nights. +ives: Location : Superb. This is actually on the border of the Gir forest. Leopards sometimes come near the hotel. Rooms: Good , spacious. With all necessary ammenities. Food: Home cooked simple food. Good food. we are happy with the customizations provided. Attitude: Good. The manager Ruturaaj was helpful and prompt. They even exchanged the TV in one of the rooms on the second day. Price: A bit high for the comfort.

Hi Ranu, Thanks so much for your review.. Yes, since we are right at the border of the jungle it is not rare for customers to find leopards lingering around behind their cottages, or hear the roar of a lion up close. We are glad you enjoyed a real jungle experience with us :) Look forward to welcoming you again.

The best part of the resort is the staff who make you feel at home. Especially the manager Rituraj and cook. We stayed there for 2 days and had a great experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is just like home and somehow we got the liberty to select what we wanted in the meals. And the cook was courteous enough to make whatever we asked for. The Lodge is in the mid of the jungle and gives a true feeling of being in Gir. Overall a pleasant stay. I just hope the owner can retain the staff as they are the backbone of the Lodge.

We had a wonderfully pleasant stay at the Maneland Jungle Lodge, as the place gave the feel of staying in the jungle. Slightly off the beaten track, it is just about 3km away from the entrance to the Gir Lion Safari entrance. It is a compact/boutique resort, and parts of it are still being renovated-- so things can only get better, The rooms are spacious, clean and very well equipped. There are large balconies to sit and simply enjoy the serenity of the place. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and they go to great lengths to offer a personalised service including custom meals. (if at all, the owner could be trying too much to offer a personalised service!). Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay here and will recommend the place to anyone planning a stay to visit the Gir Lion Safari.
