We booked this property based on the reviews given about this property. The reality is completely different right the word go. Approach to the Hotel is horrifying and if you notice they have hidden the facts that are important for a relaxed stay. The stairway to upper floors are never shown in pictures as they are dangerously steep and narrow. Just one wrong step you will be in a nearby hospital. You just cannot close one door or window fully (i bet if anyone can do it). Noise from neighbourhood can destroy your sleep and if that doesn't happen, the upper floor a/c drain will for sure. We booked for two nights, paid for the same (twice) and vacated the property just after the first night taking the losses. I honestly suggest that TripAdvisor or any such online booking site to visit and qualify the property before some accident occurs and we lose faith in your rating. I wish I could mention one good thing about the property!…
Thanks to french haveli nd care taker Bansi nd this beautiful small place with a jain nd sri krshna temple around ahmedabad s pollution heat nd chaos .....wasn't able to feel ...... They are also flexible nd make you feel at home ....so it will feel nd make you happy this stay !!! Thank you
We loved being at French Haveli, it was a sublime and quite a traditional feel one can cherish. The services were great. Location is beautifully lead into the intricacies of dhal ni pol, which introduces the travelers to new vibe of architecture. Lots of architectural interesting sites are nearby which adds vitality to this location. To add up, the whole experience is intriguing - MUST VISIT!
As like other places, we opt this Haveli for our 3 days stay in Amdavad during our very recent Gujarat trip.. Its really a charming n loving feel to stay here,,once you get in here,,it can be felt like ouw home like ambiance..Its a thrill of drama n color n homeliness together..with warm greetings n smiling ever service of Banshi... The Best Part is the ethnic n unique decoration..at Ground floor..at Dining and of course at the room we opt..Agaashi..he Room have own terrace and we love to have a chit-chat there after long full days of tiring Sightseeings n Photografy.. The Room is equipped with fantastically ethnic traditional Gujrati Decor that suites a 150 years old Haveli..the stay like a time machine journey for us..as it is like we r staying in different era from the noise of modern city.. The staffs are very helpful to guide n assist us from Dhal ni pol to Haveli..Making hot n fresh Dinner..The breakfast was awesomely yummy.. The Rooms really give us some great feelings that we love to be back here again next time when we r in Amdavad..…
A tranquil and well-balanced home feeling when you stay here. I had stayed in the single room called Mallo here. I had a peaceful and enjoyable time. It is located in the heritage property of old Ahmedabad. so from the main road, you will have to walk for 5 minutes to reach French Villa. Of course, the assistance provided by Govindji and Bansi Ji was of great help. Good stay will definitely recommend.
A lovingly restored haveli. Bansi the caretaker is very resourceful and makes good tea. The decor is tasteful and not over the top. Since it's in the old city the sights in that area are at a convenient distance. Since it's in an old house there is no lift and the stairs are a little steep. A few hooks in the restrooms would be useful. The hotel is located in a narrow alley in the old city so cars can't go in. If you need parking for your vehicle this may not be the best place. It's best to reach Dastur Khan's Mosque or Paththarwali Masjid and then give Bansi a call. He'll come and take you to the hotel from there.
This is an ideal accommodation for people looking to explore the history of old Ahmedabad. The staff are all very courteous and provided us a lot of information about things to do in and around the place.
Our stay at the French Haveli in Ahmedabad was way and beyond our expectations. Situated in a residential area, if time permits, you can just soak up the local ambiance. Our favourite spot was the sitting area beside the dining room, in view of the common thoroughfare and temple. Our room with balcony was great. The breakfast were filling and the dinners, which can be catered for, were home cooked meals. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this Haveli and would definitely stay again.
The ambience - it's a beautifully restored old haveli. Looks stunning. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and so is the linen. It's like staying in your own home. It's very near the railway station and bus stand, and close to a lot of eating places. You can stay here whether you are a tourist, or have come on business. If you're on business, it's a great way to mix business with pleasure. The people managing the place are very efficient, polite and helpful. There's only a small group of people (less than 10) staying at any time, so breakfast is a cozy little affair. Everybody greets each other, gets to know each other, unlike in a large hotel where you eat alone. If you like history, heritage buildings and cozy localities with narrow streets, this is the place you must stay in. Only suggestion - the WiFi can be improved.…
We were suprised about this beautiful haveli, in real life it is more beautiful. Very friendly hosting and we enjoyed our view from the balcony. It was also very nice meeting other guests during breakfast. We had such good conversations. We love this place in the old area of Ahmedabad.
