Hotel Volga is located in the back alleys of the city and can be challenging to locate. The vicinity is however full of cheap shops for clothing and is a short tuktuk ride away from the main city and night markets. The hotel features a classic lift which can be scary to some, but it does the job so no complaints with it. The rooms are very basic and the bathroom door is made of a material that is slightly see through, this can be an issue if you are sharing the room with a friend. Didn't eat here but the hotel did have a food menu.
The Hotel an Very Centrally Positioned at Opp. Electricity House, Relief Road, Lal Darwaja,, Amdavad, 20 min distance from Airport The Hotel is Good for Short Business or travel Transit Stay Rooms r Descent with amenities.. Staffs r very well responsive on their Duty Desk Manager very Humble n Happily Guide about Trip Room Quality can only be little improved..but a Good stay in budget..they hv in house restaurants too..food is good with Reasonable rates
Simply Average Hotel if you say in one shot, i had booked via MMT after the seeing pics, but hotel was in so congested area, room was OK but bathroom was not clean specially WC, Lift was not working properly, and area is also not good so much noise are coming from near by house. if you going in old Ahmedabad then book this hotel otherwise dont book.
Being a budget hotel I wasn't expecting much, but I did expect a basic level of cleanliness. Unfortunately our bathroom was covered in mould, so much that you could actually smell it in the room. We had to request toilet paper and request towels and soap. No hand towels provided and the bath mat was a rug that doesn't get cleaned / changed. The bedroom was fine and had the basics, and the staff were friendly enough.
This hotel looks better than some surrounding places and is like a western type hotel at Indian prices. Beautifully clean comfortable bed and very good staff who are polite efficient and most helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to western travellers. Having stayed in the worst and the best I do rate this hotel highly
This hotel management needs to invest on the hotel infrastructure, and try to make it sound proof. The hotel is slightly difficult to locate and breakfast options are limited. The reception staff is quite friendly and supportive.
Very scruffy hotel, and VERY noisy, fighting dogs, traffic, shouting in the street, etc. Staff friendly, but even the best room not up to a reasonable western standard. The details in the description are very misleading.
The hotel stay and ambience were satisfactory until the time of check out. We asked them to book a taxi for the airport. They charged us more than double the actual price, in the interest of earning extra commission. When we tried to negotiate and cancel the taxi, we were forced to pay RS.200 even after cancellation. They charged us 550. However, when we enquired with other taxi and auto drivers, the actual price was around 150-200. We would have left with a thought that next time whenever we visit Ahmedabad, this hotel will be our first choice. But now we shall never visit again.
V for Volga, V for VULGAR (Bad, Worst, Shameless). The WORST hotel, The WORST Staff, The WORST Services. AVOID THIS HOTEL At any cost especially if you are a WOMAN, FAMILY or a Business Person. Stay at this hotel at OWN RISK. The hotel is in an AISLE (Gali) and not on the mainroad. Never CHECK IN at night, especially WOMAN (and especially if you are a Foreigner), you will be treated like dust. If for some reason you have to stay then GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING like room rent, complimentary services (water bottle, napkin, tissue, newspaper, room service) etc. After booking the room, they will NEVER give you the room you booked. And yes ROOM SERVICE is chargeable at Hotel Volga. The hotel is basically a converted shoe factory (surrounded by other small factories) and so are the people. The reception person ABUSE EVERYONE and a commonly wording for every guest is "Don't say a word, you came to this hotel on your own, i did not invite you. Just shut up and pay what i am asking else i have my people to beat you up." This happens at the time of CHECK IN as well as at the time of CHECK OUT. I was unfortunate that i checked in late around midnight and had nowhere to go else i'd have not checked in this hotel and would have paid any amount to get away from this hotel at any cost. PEOPLE, PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ANY COST. IF YOU STAY AT THIS HOTEL, ONE THING IS SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET ABUSED NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK.…
It was ok to stay there maximum for a night. The rooms were average but the location was good as one can easily get any transport just by walking a few steps to the main road but the staff behaviour was not good.on arrival we were asked to produce the proof of being married even after I was wearing Sindoor, bangles everything.Somehow we e mail them our marriage pictures from Facebook. The most irritating thing happened next day when after serving the breakfast in the room(as no dinning room was there)the waiter told us that he will come after 10 min to take away the plates.Even if we asked him to give us 30 mins he came before the time and somehow we had to finish our food and tea in a hurry.Overall an average stay.Try to avoid if possible.
