I booked a room 20 minutes before visiting the hotel. I went to reception and told that I have booked a room. Then they blocked all online available rooms and told that rooms are not available and offered me a room at double rates saying only this room is available. If you want to stay your choice.

My base while exploring Ahmedabad, I had an excellent and comfortable stay here. Rooms were clean and spacious, breakfast provided was buffet style and very good, staff were helpful and polite. Good location in old part of city with good restaurants and sites nearby.

The hotel was fine. Well decorated and kind personnel, but nothing exceptional. On the downside, it was easy for a non-smoker to notice that it was allowed to have a cigarette in the room 😕 Also we called for an extra towel, but didn’t get any..

Checkin - Smooth Room - Good and Clean, but pretty small in size Bathroom slippers - Yes Toiletries - Good Clock in room - Yes Bathroom - Ok. Neat and clean. I think moisturizer must be provided in Monsoons & Winters atleast Tea and Coffee - No kettle or complimentary Tea & Coffee Room AC - Good Wifi - OK, but need a bit faster TV & Dish - OK, few HD channels too Breakfast - Not in my booking Staff - Courteous & Polite Checkout - Smooth Lift is very slow. Overall a great place but need to have somewhat bigger rooms

The Alka Inn is not all bad. The rooms are basic but very clean. The laundry service was efficient and the staff were mostly polite. However, there were just as many problems as positives at this place. After a couple of days, the catch phrase 'Sorry for your inconvenience' starts to lose its charm. Worst of all is the Internet. It worked for about half a day out of a three day stay. There were no shortage of excuses and promises, but I quickly tired of them. The breakfast was okay most days but one day there very slim pickings- not enough to make a satisfying meal of. Finally, the room service menu was not available throughout our story. The kitchen was closed. Sorry for your inconvenience.

Worst experience...... the staff at the reception is so rude...... no manners how to talk to guests...... even after confirm booking, they asked us to wait for 6hrs..never visit this place ... There are better hotels in the vicinity..

The hotel is across from a dump... smelly When we arrived for our reservation, the men at the front desk kept staring at my wife and were quite rude. The rooms smelled and were super small. We did not feel safe there so we left.

We were 3 girls, traveling in Gujarat and stayed in this hotel at 2 different occasions throughout our trip. All I could say is I am extremely impressed by this hotel's service. Coming to basic things, the location of the hotel is great, as its at a junction where you could walk to old city, teen darwaza and other places in the heart of city. The building is designed is less space, but they have managed their space well, the reception area is small, but the rooms are big and spacious with all services in place. The breakfast opted with room is decent, nothing different or special. However, the service of the hotel staff is exceptional, from the person at reception to the waiters all are kind and courteous. We were happy with our stay and would definitely recommend it to others staying in ahmedabad.…

All rooms provided are smoking rooms. It stinks if you are a non smoker. No proper ventilation nor sunlight in rooms provided. Breakfast provided was very limited and spoiled. Please avoid this place.
