If you order the food from their restaurant they will get it from outside in cheap rate and charge you double for the same.
In their free breakfast they don't have anything apart from 1 aloo paratha,2 breads with butter and tea.
What a joke is that better don't Include breakfast in room rate.
Water bottles in rooms are not complimentary there like other hotels they will charge for them.
My suggestion to book other hotels which are nearby and have good facilities and services.
It's my appeal to the management to take this guy off customer dealing and to put him to washing the dishes. Such a guy has no place in the service industry.
We were just walking out of the hotel (no, we didn't check in) when Mr. Hassan walked in the main gate of the hotel. He is the manager there and had floored me with his warmth and personalized touch to service the first time I'd stayed at the hotel. He asked me if we had checked in and I told him the whole story. He spoke to the guy at the reception on the house phone, placated us, and booked us in. Now, that's service. He made sure we got good service throughout the remaining part of our stay.
All said and done, I won't go back again to the place where I and my wife were insulted. There is no guarantee that Mr. Hassan will be on duty when I check in.
I saw many foreigners there (as in couples). I'd like to ask any overseas travelers if they were also asked for a proof of being married when they checked in as a couple or is this racial discrimination practiced against fellow Indians only?
We stayed as a family of 4 and booked 2 rooms - one suite and one deluxe for 3 days starting from 12th December 2014 (checkout early morning 15th December 2014).
Pros :
Location,
Staff (most of the staff very courteous and helpful). Want to make special mention of Mr. Prashant & Mr. Manjur at reception who really ensure in every way guests' comfort.
Rooms -- not too spacious but decent for the price you pay and hospitality you enjoy. Even bathrooms are slightly spacious but clean.
Food. They serve good variety of items in complimentary buffet breakfast. Special mention needs to be made of milk shakes which are very good.
Cons. :
Not many except the fact that professionalism and 'Customer First' attitude has not trickled down to each and every member of the hotel and therefore can't be said to have become the culture of this hotel. This I experienced at the time of checkout which was at the middle of a cold night.
Will explain my experience in little detail --
We had a train to catch from Ahmedabad station at 4.55 am on 15th Dec. and so to avoid any delay in the checkout early morning, we paid the entire bill beforehand on 14th December 2014 night at 11.30 pm. At that time we informed Mr. Akbar who was at the reception that we will be checking out early at around 3.30-3.45 am. We asked him whether tea can be arranged at such time which he said yes. Since we were entitled to complimentary breakfast on 15th which we wouldn't be able to take because of early checkout, we asked whether teas will be complimentary or paid which he sad he will adjust as complimentary.
Now, the real pain started at 2.45 am on 15th December when despite informing reception only warm water was coming in the bathroom instead of hot. It was a really cold night with temperature at ~12 degree C but we all needed to take bath with such warm water only as till 3.30 am no hot water was coming. Then we called to room service for 4 teas (one cup for each family member) which it arranged within 10 minutes but, because of extreme cold weather and we having taken bath with only warm water, needed one cup hot tea more so ordered for another 4 cups which again was arranged promptly.
Simultaneously, at the time of first tea order itself we informed the reception of completing all checkout papers like bills and all keep them ready so that we just need to take and leave since we had already paid in full the entire amount on 14th. But, to our surprise when after 25 minutes we came downstairs with luggage, still bill printout was pending. To add to that after taking the printouts and all Mr. Akbar asked us to pay for the teas we consumed --- When we asked him that they were meant to be complimentary as told by him last night he informed that you all have consumed two cups each instead of one so you need to pay the entire amount.-- without much argument we asked for the amount and paid in full -- to our surprise he took the payment for all the 8 cups of tea.
On one side we have reviews wherein this hotel charges for Mineral water at MRP and this even we have personally experienced wherein because of some issues with the suite room allocated, Mr. Prashant immediately kept the request and on the next day itself we were asked if we want to change to Deluxe instead of Suite which we didn't do anyway.
On the other side we have this checkout experience wherein a family of 4 members which includes one aged person and one lady who have taken two top category rooms in the hotel without any discount and have paid as per tariff card rate plus taxes, and are also entitled for multi-items unlimited buffet breakfast which they are unable to enjoy because of early checkout are asked to pay for drinking two cups of tea instead of one because of checkout in the middle of an extremely cold night. Charging for tea doesn't matter as your guests who are paying you Rs. 5800 plus taxes per day for your rooms can easily pay Rs. 300 for 8 cups of teas but what matters is the lack of professionalism in your behaviour.
Actually when your guests have informed you of a middle of night checkout, you should have personally asked the guests whether they would like to have tea or something during checkout, but, instead, your guests need to ask you regarding the same which is totally not appropriate for a hotel which claims to keep 'Customer's Comfort First'.....and forget asking, but, then to charge the guests for drinking two cups instead of one cup tea is totally unprofessional. To add, when guests have paid all the bills in advance and informed you at the time of payment of approximate time of checkout, and plus also informed you before half hour of the actual checkout to keep everything ready; you not even taking printout of the bills till guests come downstairs with their luggage is totally unimaginable.
If hotel management and personnel even remotely thinks that the experience we had at the time of checkout was atall professional and appropriate and justifies it with one reason or the other then this hotel might not upgrade to the top level in future. Professionalism always comes by accepting the mistakes and rectifying them whatever small they may be. I have enlisted my experience here not to express my dissatisfaction but to enable hotel management and personnel to take note of the loopholes present and plug them in bud itself. As per my observation this hotel possesses all the ingredients to become one of the most desired hotel to stay in Ahmedabad but it can only happen with collective efforts and not isolated efforts.
I am impressed by the personalised approach of majority personnel of the hotel because of which I even left a thanks note on my personal visiting card for Mr. Prashant at the time of checkout.. Will again be visiting Ahmedabad with my family most probably next year and will surely stay in Hotel Accolade and hope that time I will be able to rate this hotel 'Excellent' instead of 'Good'.
