The Silver Sands Sunshine hotel emerges as a favorite for budget-conscious visitors, offering great value with the option to upgrade rooms economically and enjoy a satisfying breakfast for an extra charge. Its prime location, a stone's throw from the beach and local eateries, makes it a hit among beach lovers and food enthusiasts. The service at the hotel receives accolades for its friendly and efficient staff, adding to the hotel's charm with well-kept rooms and a spirited environment, especially during sports events. While the amenities, including a sports bar and daily room cleaning, are widely appreciated, some guests note that the bar music can be boisterous, and the internet connection spotty. Despite this, the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel are praised, ensuring a comfortable stay.

We checked in immediately, at 9 am, free of charge, although check-in is from 2 pm.
Besides me there was an adult couple from Russia, 2 couples from Europe and the rest were Indians.
Excellent location: 5 min walk to the sea; a bunch of cafes and restaurants, 2 supermarkets 5 min; pharmacies; vegetable market; souvenir shops and so on are all nearby
Breakfast is standard for India: tea/coffee; toast; jam; oil; juice; fried egg/omelet. For money you can buy a pancake (pancake) with filling; sausages; fruit salad and much more when you want variety.
Now is the very beginning of the season, the hotel is actively preparing for it. Everything is being washed, cleaned, all the buildings have been painted.
The room is spacious, huge bed 2*2; safe, wardrobe; air conditioner; TV (didn’t turn it on, don’t know if there are Russian channels), refrigerator.
The plumbing is not dead. The furniture is a little old, but that doesn't bother me. There was always hot water. The lights were turned off a couple of times for about 5 minutes maximum.
The bed linen and towels are clean, washed, but not new, you can find stains and the color is not snow-white)))
They clean it if you leave the key at the reception. I didn’t leave, but I met the cleaner a couple of times, and he himself offered to clean up.
Wi-Fi is ok in the restaurant and by the pool. The room also has it, but only on the balcony, as the router is installed there.
The coolest rooms are the ones at the end, as there is a sitting area on both sides, on one side the balcony faces the street, on the other, in front of the front door there is a small room with a table and chairs, a view of the neighboring garden.
There is no territory as such, only a pleasant area by the pool, I have attached a photo.
It’s not the season, all the nearby sheks at sea are closed, I went towards Calangute, there were already open ones there. The season is from November, locals say everything will be open by this time.
Weather 30-32, usually sunny and hazy, at night 24-25, stuffy. Sea is warm.

We have been to Goa many times but this was one of the best.
The rooms are basic but have everything you need, safety deposit box, fridge, air con etc
They are cleaned daily including fresh towels. From our balcony we could people watch in the morning and evening.
We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and I surprised the wife with roses on the bed but Alisha and Lester also supplied us a bottle of sparkling wine and cake which was a very nice touch.
The food in the restaurant is fab and the atmosphere in the sports bar watching the premier league games and rugby was similar to being in the UK.
All of the staff are so friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to go back, there might be more plush hotels in Candolim that charge much more per night but for us this is the best located , authentic and friendly hotel in the area.Darren and Ali

Have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at this hotel. We have been to Candolim many times and have always visited this hotel to eat and drink. This year we decided to stay here and are so glad we did. The hotel is in a fantastic location on beach road. We had a city room and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The rooms are clean spacious and very well air conditioned. Clean bedding and towels are available every day if required but you are not disturbed by staff to clean your room you simply let them know when you want it done.
All the staff are amazing and every single member of staff we encountered were polite courteous and friendly they really do the hotel proud.
Alisha the manageress was there to greet us on arrival which I personally found to be very lovely. Her and her husband Lester were always available if you needed them for anything at all and nothing is too much trouble. I forgot to take my travel kettle and they were more than happy to supply one for me for my morning coffee on the balcony.
The food in the restaurant is delicious and plentiful. The whole place has a great atmosphere.
We are already planning to return next year and will most definitely stay here again.
Great stay even better people and definitely worth thinking about if you are planning to visit Candolim

Silver Sands Sunshine Candolim

Stayed February 2024.
Some things to know if you’re planning to stay here:
The hotel is situated on the busy main road to the beach and in easy walking access to the beach and the various beach huts where you can while away the day sunbathing, eating and drinking. The sea is gorgeously warm and great for swimming. Unfortunately the Indian disregard for dropping litter lets it down badly.
Regarding the hotel.
First I must say that all the staff including the owners are very friendly and helpful and do their best to accommodate. The rooms are good with AC and fridge in the rooms, the bathroom and shower are also good. Breakfast is ok. You have the choice of fresh fruit, corn flakes, 2 eggs done in different ways, toast and jam and tea or coffee. You can always order a different breakfast from the menu which you pay extra for.
Now the things they don’t put in the brochure.
If you have a room overlooking the road, the ones with a balcony:
The adjoining bar where you have breakfast is a sports/live music/karaoke bar with loud music every night. This is heard very clearly in the hotel rooms. We were in room A3 (first floor) initially and the first two nights were intolerable. The music doesn’t subside till nearly midnight, so if you want to sleep before then, forget it. I have a decibel meter on my phone and measured decibel levels from our room balcony of 87 at 11:00pm. This is beyond dangerous hearing levels.
At the other end of the apartments is a smaller sports bar. Lucky this isn’t loud every night but when it is it’s as bad as the other end and you’re trapped in the middle. We never sat in the hotel bar to have a drink because the music was invariably too loud and we couldn’t hear each other talk without shouting. There are lots of quieter bars nearby though. We managed to move rooms which made the holiday manageable. Thanks to the reception manager. If you are ordering anything from the bar at the hotel you will find a service charge automatically added to the bill. Even if you go to the bar yourself for a drink the service charge is still added. Choose your bars carefully, there are lots, this isn’t the norm.
Again if you’re at the front of the hotel you have loud traffic hooting all through the night, motorbikes who think Beach Road is a race track, not to mention the barking/ howling dogs. The internet in the rooms away from the main reception area is sketchy and if you do connect you can be chucked out at anytime, it isn’t consistent. If there are a lot of people wanting to access it, there is little chance of connecting.
This is not intended to slam the place but if you’re wanting a quiet holiday this isn’t the place for you. We wish we had known, it ruined our holiday. Though TUI are a great company we won’t be coming back to this hotel.

Dear Mr Ward, Thank you for taking the time to review us TUI doesn’t really provide room view descriptions , however , if you’d just taken 2 mins of your time , (like you did now, to leave us a feedback as soon as you checked out), and checked our trip advisor page or even our website at the time of booking, you would know that our rooms are facing the street. We have rooms at the back of the hotel which you could’ve paid to upgrade to , but didn’t want to! Unfortunately we have no control over the dogs barking or the cars honking or people talking outside our hotel! Like every other restaurant in Goa that has live music as part of their entertainment, our live music too shuts at 11 PM. We have live music only 3 times a week! I understand that some people are more sensitive to sound than others, but we can’t please everyone! As for the service charge, I’d like to inform you that service charge in any restaurant in India is at the sole discretion of the guest. We’re sorry that you were unable to enjoy your holiday!

Having stayed here many times over the years, this was our 1st visit back since covid. We were a little apprehensive as to how things would be after reading a lot of things on social media around how everything has changed. Can honestly say that from the moment we arrived we felt like we’d never been away. After a long day/night travelling we were greeted by the lovely Alisha, checkin was quick & our room was ready which was a result. Had requested a room on 1st floor with balcony overlooking the street which we love. People/traffic/cow watching extravaganza! Rooms are fine, cleaned everyday, good size, comfortable bed, air con amazing, storage for clothes bit limited (take hangers)but realistically you don’t need to take as many clothes as we did. Bathrooms have been upgraded with glass shower screen, nice touch. Location is perfect, right on beach road, beach 5 mins walk, bars, restaurants on doorstep.Small pool area but we didn’t use as beach people. We spent a lot of evenings in the bar downstairs, weekends were great atmosphere for sport & in the week they have some good singers on. We ate there a couple of times in the restaurant Angaara & we were not disappointed, The fillet steak was fabulous. All in all I’d highly recommend this hotel. Remember it is a 2star so don’t expect a 5 star hotel. All the staff are very friendly & efficient & a special mention to Sonny who looked after us most evenings. Thanks to Alisha & Lester for another great stay. We will be back for sure.

Alesha and Lester are the most amazing hosts! Their family values were so obvious to us when their daughters on-site.
They were always asking how we were doing and if there was anything else that we needed, customer service at its finest.
One thing was clear Alesha and Lester really respected each and every member of staff and in return all them from top to bottom give 100% In full filling their role effortlessly and always with a smile. Many of them have worked there for 10 years or more, this in itself speaks volumes.
The hotel rooms and the communal areas are kept very clean and the gardening was attended to regularly.
We stayed in a superior room and the balcony was so tranquil. The room had everything we needed and the fridge was a perfect facility We used it every day to keep our Kingfisher and water cool.
The pool area is lovely and there were on towel wars, I always found a sun bed.
Breakfast was a very relaxed experience the staff knew who were residents and who were paying customers, and delivery of your choice of eggs and bread was prompt.
The Sports Bar and restaurant is an absolute must on any stay in the Bags Calangute and Candolim area. The location was fantastic for getting to the beach and visiting the many different places of interest.
The atmosphere when sporting events are being televised is great. The entertainment was also good I even got up for a dance.
The food in the restaurant was fantastically tasty and great value.
Overall we had a wonderful experience at this well positioned hotel.

This hotel has surpassed all our expectations. We have been here a week now and have a Standard room which overlooks the beach road and initially we were a little worried that this would be noisy. However, after 11.00pm the traffic quietens down and our sleep has never disturbed. We actually enjoy people watching from our balcony. The location is excellent with the beach being just a 2 minute walk away. The hotel is also in the centre of candolim and you can get a bus at the top to mapusa or panjim. We have a huge king size bed in the bedroom which is extra large and extremely comfortable. The air conditioning is good and there us also a ceiling fan which also blocks any noise. The room is well lit and has good storage. The fridge is a small beer fridge but does the job and we got a kettle on request no problem. We really like the large bathroom with spacious enclosed shower area. There is always plentiful hot water. We have breakfast included which is simple and very good, choice of eggs, toast, cereal, fruit and Indian choice. The waiters bring this to our table and also make the toast for you. The room is cleaned as often as you like by leaving your key at reception. There is a pool area with a few sunbeds provided. We have ate a few meals in the Angara the restaurant and wasn’t disappointed. All the staff are so helpful and friendly and always greet you with a smile. The reception is open 24 hours with very helpful staff also. Lester and Alisha, who run the hotel are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We have rang reception a few times for extra towels and s problem with the safe and both times someone has been at the door to help as soon as we put the phone down. We really appreciate all the help everyone has given us so far and look forward to the next couple of weeks here. All we can say is it’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in goa, superb 10/10 and definitely will be coming back.

Seriously we absolutely love this place. Just a couple of examples for you. We actually wanted to change our very quiet room to a room that faced beach road so we could simply enjoy a drink on the balcony watching the world go by. Casually mention to front desk and within 12 hours room found for us. Mentioned to cleaner our room fridge wasn’t as cold as we would like, no word of a lie knock on door within 5 mins replacement fridge installed. Another example I messed up combination on room safe I popped down to reception and within 5 mins all sorted again. Our room is cleaned every day even though we sometimes tell cleaner no need, fresh bed linen and towels every day. Exceptional staff and so welcoming at all times and I really do mean at all times.

This has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The owners Alesha & Lester are fine and the staff great. But, oh boy, the accomodation is verging on being classed as a run down property. Slabs lifted on the footpaths around the site. The cesspit vent pipe is exposed right by the kitchen. Frequent power cuts, very dated, dirty rooms. The rug, sheets, top sheets all stained but clean. Towels thread bare. Balls stained, plaster falling off. Bathroom , 1 tap in the basin, dirty walls and showers. The owners also have the silver sands village, silver sands hideaway, silver sands serenity and this hotel. The reviews from each hotel paint a picture..
One couple had to lock their front door with a padlock.
It could be the best around, the location is great for the beach and local bars
& restaurants . To top if off, they charge you a 6% surcharge on any food or drink. When you question it, you're told it's the GST tax but its really the waiters tip. One waiter had my phone number and rang me to ask whete I was eating tonight..

We will not visit this hotel ever again.

Dear Stephen Mark Falzon, Thank you for your feedback. Firstly I understand where you get your negative thoughts from! We are a 2 star hotel, providing the best facilities. You paid a cheap amount for the rooms and you wanted the facilities of a 5 star. Obviously we cant do that. We have the best reviews on TUI and are rated highest in candolim. Frequent power cuts are out of our control as they are by the government. However we have a generator backup which kicks in after 3 minutes. The linen are new and always clean. You may have got a one off towel which had threads, which you are highlighting, you could have given it back and we would have gladly replaced. The toilets are always deep cleaned after every checkout. We do have 4 properties, however they are separately managed. So please do not club them together. None of our rooms have padlocks. The service charge is mentioned on the front page of the menu, unless you can’t read!! The service charge is distributed among all the staff and for breakage. If you had any issues, you should’ve highlighted it during your stay! Kindly do not show your frustration on social media for things that are not relevant. If you want 5 star facilities then please book and pay for a 5 star property. Our reviews speak for ourselves. All our guest leave happy and contended.

Nice hotel , great location on Beach road with loads of fantastic restaurants a short walk away . Staff are lovely really attentive and helpful . Alisha helped us to find and book a 2 day trip down to Patnem in South Goa which we really enjoyed . Our room was cleaned daily if we wanted it all we had to do was give the housekeeping boy the key, towels would be changed also if we requested. Food and drinks were really great and we would definitely return to Silver Sands Sunshine maybe next year .

Not in our rooms, which face the road. We always take an extension lead too there is a shortage of sockets and none near the mirror. Other than that it's great. Enjoy your holiday.
