I shall split this review in 4 parts 1) Location 2) Property 3) Service 4) Experience Location: 1hr 10min from the goa airport By cab. The sinquerim beach is hardly 4min walking distance. There is also a private forest path that leads to a treking route behind fort aguada that offers a stunning view of the rocky beaches. The property is 10min walk from cafes, restaurants, liquor shops and grocery stores. The nearby restaurants offer excellent cuisine. There are also a lot of bike n car rentals nearby the property. The taj fort aguada is 4min walking distance as well. So location wise a great property to explore. Property: The modestly called Marbella guesthouse is more like a boutique hotel. Architectured around the Portuguese style, the property has colonial and indian influences strewn about reflecting in its eclectic furniture and curios. Marbella houses 3 very stylish suites (Penthouse suite, Rajasthani suite, moghul suite) the rooms have unique styles n themes and are done up tastefully and 3 spacious rooms (Garden view, bougenvilla 1 n 2.) All rooms have aircon, flat tv and a comfortable bed. Perfect for budget travellers. The property has a beautiful landscaping surrounding its inner n outer parameters with beautiful trees, plants n flowers. Unlike boring hotel rooms, Marbella has a lot more to explore inside the property...during our stay we would read books kept in small bookshelfs, twiddle with a tibetan singing bowl that we found on the shelf, or just play with their dog 'Sophie' a super friendly dog that will lovingly pester you for a belly rub and thank you for it with its doe eyes. For nature lovers the property never ceases to mesmerize with its beauty. It looks so perfect. Service: The staff is very warm, caring n friendly. They are true professionals at their job. There is a sense of approachability with a sense of responsibility towards their guests. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly by sunita who loves to chat. Ashok the cook is the ninja in the kitchen whipping an excellent breakfast, and all the rest of the service staff are associated with the property since long and know their tasks well n execute them well. Sajjan the manager is also a great soul ask him anything (within reason) and it'll be done. They will help you with a snack if you're hungry in the middle of the night, will help you get a rental or a cab to the airport...or in my case even help securing stuff to plan a b'day surprise. We also met the owner of Marbella; Susan who was a charming and warm person. My regards to a fellow animal lover. Experience: ahh your stay is always good when you get back home and miss it. I miss the dog sophie, miss the property for its beauty and the great time we had in it. There is always a story to tell. Places like this make you fall in love with goa. Keep up the good work guys. Hope to see you next.…
If you want a perfect goan house set up, with stunning plants, flowers, delicious food, comfortable stay, hospitable and warm hosts - Marbella Guest House is your place to be! Although it's located in the centre of Candolim, the house is at the end of a quiet & dark lane which is 500m from the main road. It gets quite dark in nights so having a bike/ car is recommended. Sophie the doggo is the highlight!
This enchanting guest house beats any 5-star hotel service. The charm is not only about the beautiful property and location, but also the staff here each of whom makes sure that guests are comfortable and have what we need. The architecture of the place is truly unique - we stayed in the Rajasthani suite, and enjoyed every bit. The courteous staff provided us a table, extension cord, and everything we needed to make sure we had a comfortable work-ation. The cook here has been working for 30+ years, and the delicious food he prepares beats anything we tasted in the posh restaurants in Goa. From North Indian style palak paneer to Goan Xacuti, everything was beyond amazing. Authentic Goan food here is to die for. Even at late nights at 1 am, the staff is at your service. There’s a lovely hill with beautiful sea view right behind the guest house - and this was the unexpected pleasant surprise for us when we got here. It’s definitely a must visit - quiet and beautiful. We want for walks here every morning. The place is conveniently located to good restaurants (though after 1-2 days of eating out, we decided nothing beatts the yummy food at Marbella :) ), can either rent a Scooty during your stay or just walk. sinquerim beach Is located close by, and so is Fort Aguada.…
This is a Portuguese stye bungalow converted into a guest house. We took the Rajasthani Suite after looking at its pictures and were not disappointed. It has a beautiful sitting space and a very green and pretty backyard that's a part of it and is worth paying for. The morning light shines through the windows and falls directly on the bed making it appear beautiful in mornings. The staff was helpful and we met the owner of the property as well. She's a lovely lady who suggested we take a short trek to a lighthouse from behind the property. It was a good suggestion that led to a wonderful day outing for us. The location is stellar, this guest house is situated at about 7-8 minutes walk from the Aguada Fort and beach. We went there every evening unless it was raining and had a wonderful time. There are shops and convenience stores nearby making it easy to shop if you need to. Overall, we had a wonderful stay for a week and would recommend it to others. …
A beautiful botique hotel, very close to Candolim beach. The area has superb restaurants and beaches. The hotel has extremely kind and hard working staff. Exotic rooms and bathrooms. The property is clean, serene and surrounded by greens. Rooms are huge and just lovely. Book it without a second thought.
I have been to goa plenty of times before with my friends and have always stayed in Calangute or Mapusa with all the happening goan feel, getting exposed to the social and nightlife there, but this time it was very different :) Thanks to Marbella. I had been to goa for my honeymoon and we had a wonderful time. The staff is amazing, we had booked the Rajasthani suite, Sajjan welcomed us very well and also gave us a bike which was in a very good condition. Pascal, the best chef i have known, don’t forget to taste the food there, specifically Fish and Pasta were my personal favourites. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay at Marbella, if you are looking for a secluded place with a different goan experience. I loved the staff’s gesture of making us feel at home, you don’t find such people in today’s world, i know this is exaggerative enough, but they were very down to earth :) Lastly, if you are a dog lover, then it’s a cherry on the cake, meet sophie there ;)…
Very good location with great staff. We stayed in the suite and it was really nice. Would be better if there was an AC in the living room. Could improve on the in-house food menu but everything else was great.
This was my first trip to Goa and staying at Marbella was a cherry on the cake. Perfect location and extremely welcoming friendly staff. Rooms are spacious surrounded by trees, very close to sinquerium beach. Would highly recommended staying at this place.
This place is a dream! It has the best patio surrounded by greenery secluded in an area where you hear nothing but your breath! It has an open kitchen to whip up some nice breakfast for yourself and a balcony to sit relax and read or listen to music. The staff is super friendly and really welcoming felt like a home away from home. The owner loves cute doggies who roam around the property so if u are a lover of luxury and nature then this place is for you. The rooms are super clean and the caretakers also very helpful. One of the best properties in Goa to stay for a peaceful trip.
I have been staying here since 2014 almost 7 years & 6-7 visits ( one visit each year missed the 2019 Due to COVID) i would say nothing has changed ,Rooms are amazing ,have stayed in Mogul suite ,Penthouse,Rajasthani suite ,Bougain Villa,Hospitality is really really good, The staff have become good friends could call them family members now Sajan,Pascal,Nandu,Karan,Sunita thank you so much you are all like family members to us.not to forget Ashok & Raymond they no longer with Marbella but they were good as well ,Food is extremely delicious ,my personal favorite Prawn fry & crab curry .
