See julie S review below - totally agree and we were there at the same time. Dijon, Brian, Siddhesh, Amit, Baghwan were all great - very helpful and chatty. The room was cleaned every day and it looked like fresh bed linen daily along with fresh towels daily. Balcony is tiny with room for one chair and it overlooked the waste land. Very limited wardrobe/drawer space. Pool is a bit tired but clean. The lawn area down to the beach is beautiful and a nice walk avoiding the various sellers along the road. Beach towels are available from the hotel but we found them to be very worn and rather like tissue paper. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening and the food was very good but only us and one other couple in there so no atmosphere, also slightly more expensive than other places. Do try a Dosa for your breakfast - delicious. Happy hour 6pm to 8pm was ok but even at 2 for 1 the bar was not that busy but the bar staff provided a great service and were friendly and chatty. We have been to this area of Goa a couple of times and love the area, unfortunately I would not stay at the O again mainly because of the tiny balcony and poor room views.

Dear Philip G, Our hotel has always received wonderful reviews from practically all guests with regards to our interaction and commitment to serve. The hotel does high occupancy the year around and that leaves us with very less time to take on big jobs to bring about a major renovation. Having said that we are always open to feedback that keeps us on our toes. Our balconies on the south side overlook a vacant plot and is mainly preferred by TUI guests as it gives them an open expanse against looking into another hotel's rooms on the north side. Thank you for mentioning our team members names and appreciating the efforts put in by them in running this beautiful resort. We wish that you stay with us once more.... PS. The pool has been refurbished with new tiles. Warm regards, Carmo & The Team O

We Stayed at the hotel for 1 week and found this to be a great hotel.
The room was comfortable, clean and spacious.
There was tea/coffee making facilities in our room. A fridge stocked with mini bar drinks including bottled beer but no bottle opener.( luckily had 1 on my keychain)
The breakfast was very good, with a mixed offering. I had the Indian breakfast items and was happy with the food.
I also ordered the omelette ( freshly prepared to order) and it was excellent.
I did not try the cereals, sausage or other options available. (really love South Indian food) Various hot and cold drinks were available and fulfilled expectations.
We were at the hotel on New Year’s Eve and the hotel provided a Gala dinner. The starters were outstanding and cooked to order, especially the tandoor cooked dishes, which were tasty and succulent. The hotel made an amazing effort for the guests to experience an amazing New Years Eve.
The pool looked adequate, surrounded by a large number of sun beds, tables and chairs set in really well presented gardens.
We did not use the pools because the beach was so close and the hotel provided towels for the beach.
A pair of sun beds on the beach could be rented for the day for 200 Rupees (£2.00) or at the nearby Fishermans Hut Beach Shack (free, difficult to get beds if late). This beach shack is the best shack I’ve experienced, good food, great service and the cleanest toilets.(showers available)
We had one evening meal at the hotel restaurant, and again the food was amazing. The waiting staff in the restaurant for breakfast, evening meal and Gala Meal were very friendly and attentive. I would happily say that the waiting staff provided the best service I’ve encountered.
When I next visit Goa, I will return to this hotel.
I would happily recommend this hotel, it’s a gem.

Having spent another 2weeks here, people should realise this is India, a fantastic hotel with staff so pleased to help you. From the waiters at breakfast explaining all the different Indian foods to you and what region it comes from, to the bar staff,
Thanks to Sid, Brian, and the kid on the block Veyon, just a fantastic team, always happy with huge smiles there faces and absolutely make this such a home from home.
The cleaning of rooms still gets later every day you stay, which needs to be looked at, when you come back to your room at 5.00 pm and still not done this is not good enough!!!
The general manager seemed to stroll around with a big grin on his face, until a party of 30 Indian guests turned, then he decided to totally ignore the U.K. Visitors whom had put a lot of money into the hotel, which is not acceptable. I did ask for the owner of the hotels email address which was not given to me,
Apart from that will be back again next year.
Also Bagwan the pool man who is such a placid nice man with a heart of gold

The O Hotel is a relaxing haven set back from the main road with beautiful gardens and calming water features. The garden leads onto the beach which makes a beautiful way of accessing not only the beach but also local restaurants and beach shacks.
The pool area has plenty of shade and sun loungers. The only downside is that a couple of the pool's tiles need replacing.
The bedrooms are spacious and clean with all facilities you need.
The hotel staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you.
I used the gym whilst on holiday, it's small but adequate and well maintained.
Breakfast was tasty, they maybe need a wider variety of cereal and fresh bread to give a little extra variety and a couple of small tweaks to the dining room would help push it into the 5 star bracket, for example the tables could use being replaced or re painted, table numbers are written in felt tip on a plastic sign, slat and pepper pots are cheap plastic.
As I say, a couple of simple changes would make a huge difference, that said the service and friendliness of staff outweigh these minor cosmetic issues.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

In the name of resort its worst than the lodging its not even the 1 star property. Don’t get fooled by 5 star category With all illiterate staff and worst service. You can find better staff and humble people serving you in any 3 star property. Very miss behaving staff and people out there. Cleaning staff was trying to enter in the room even when the guests were sleeping and they were like you should on DND which was not working.Every guest staying there were complaining each time we were near the reception. A guy at reception named tejan was the worst of all. Very poor hospitality and management, Dirty small pool with no service around it,Unhygienic restaurant with no proper seating capacity dirty bathrooms. Poor balcony everything you will see was just . You will find many good hotels near by this place and beach is also of no use. I have visited to goa 18-20 times and stayed in many propertiesbut this was the worst i have ever seen. Broken chairs in room. Keys were also not working
Very poor property

Very basic & average 5*,
We missed our flight from Goa to Mumbai due to highway road works (new flyovers are being built) and while at the airport we thought of just booking another hotel for 3 nights and rebooked a flight accordingly. Landed up at this hotel since this was the cheapest 5* property we found. Beachfront property, has a swimming pool, golf carts to transport guests from maim gate to the reception, entrance of the hotel is quite weird for a 5* as it shares a common entrance with a casino and the hotel is exactly behind the casino. Breakfast is good, room service / menu prices are exaggerated and too high in accordance to the standard of the hotel, paid almost Rs 400 for a glass of milk for my baby (most hotels don’t charge for baby milk!). The layout of the hotel is such that air conditioning isn’t possible in public areas, however they didn’t even bother to place some table fans at the reception where you’ll sweat like anything in hot months! The reception staff was doing a great job standing in that April heat without any fan! Good service by Antonio at the reception while checking-in around midnight when we arrived. If you’re looking for a quality 5* then this is not a good option, but if you’re looking for a cheap 5* in the range of 4* prices this could be your option. Located at the end of Candolim main road, car hire is a must for easy commute. Thanks, Dhaval Thakkar (London, UK).

Dear Dhaval-Thakkar, Thank you for your review. Happy to note that other than a few observations of our air-conditioning prowess, you were by far and large happy with the hotel. All our rooms are centrally air conditioned and we have fans in our dining facilities. The property is large and linear with plenty of landscaping to provide the intimate touch with nature. The casino belongs to the hotel and has a separate entrance. Guests are free to use either of the entrances to approach the casino or the hotel premises. The hotel has everything that one would want in Goa...the beach, sun and sand, the pool, easy mobility inside the hotel, cars and bikes on rental just outside, a casino..... We will be more than happy to receive you again and extend the warm affable Goan hospitality that we are known for..... So long... Warm regards, Carmo & The Team O

We stayed at the O Hotel over new year
.The rooms were of a good size and everything was in working order.
We had 2 evening meal (1 meal we won as a prize) at the restaurant which was absolutely superb and very tasty...compliments to the Chef.
The Gala dinner on New year eve was again was delicious and so much variety, however the seating was terrible.
From where we sat we could not see the singers or the dancing so did feel isolated and they would not let us move to other empty tables where you can see the band and feel the vibe.We could not understand why they would not let us do this as we would have stayed and bought more drinks, we went next door to the Calamari for the countdown to 2020
Our package included breakfast which again consisted of Indian food and continental, the staff at breakfast were all excellent nothing was too much for them.
The Spa was OK I had a luxury pedicure, however did not really enjoy this.
The access to the beach was great, the hotels provided the beach towels, the lad in the booth giving towels was very helpful also.
We did not use the pool, the gardens in the complex were stunning...compliments to the Gardner, we enjoyed walking around.
We used the Room service, the food was good and we were satisfied although was a bit pricey but it was 1 am and it was room service so I would expect this.
We have already recommended this hotel to friends in the UK and would if back in Goa use the hotel again.

Stayed there for 3 nights from 19-21 Nov and it was a relaxing experience.
Location is 5/5, from back gate direct access to Candolim beach and from front gate right on the main road in middle of hustle and bustle.
Was given room on 1st floor, rooms were big, high ceiling with a small balcony and a bathtub in bathroom.
Will give 5/5 again to restaurant staff especially a guy called Biswajeet ( although I generally don’t put staff name in my reviews).
We had buffet dinner at hotel restaurant for 2 nights - was charged 800 per person which was reasonable as food was good quality and staff is nice to customise and offer you additional dishes if you don’t like buffet.
They have a small pool and a garden and direct access to Candolim beach.
We paid around 11.5k+ per night as Nov is peak season but it was worth.
Highly recommended.

We stayed for 10 nights in a deluxe double on the first floor.

We were greeted on arrival and guided to reception where we filled in the paperwork. As we were well before the official check in time, we had a small wait until our room was ready.

The room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

The wardrobe and shelves are all open and there is limited space.

The staff were friendly and efficient.

There is a small pool and the gardens lead directly into the beach.

The hut by the pool serves drinks and snacks with specials for lunch, all brought to your sunbed or table.

The pool boy brought over a head rest for the loungers and was friendly and helpful.

Brian in the hut, restaurant and bad seemed to be everywhere and was friendly, efficient and good fun.

The food in the restaurant was good - we had the a la carte menu a few times.

When we went out for a meal or a walk we were always greeted on our return by the security staff (the casino is at the front of the property so you pass through that to get into the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay and will happily return some time.
