We stayed at Bougainvillea Guest house for 3 nights over new years. Like other travellers we had shopped around prior to arriving in Goa and the rates at this time of year can be very high. Bougainvillea offered excellent value for money, located 10 minutes walk from Candolim and five minutes from Sinquerim beach and very close to Taj Resort. The house is beautiful, our room which I assume was standard across the house had two rooms, a room with a seating/lounging area including fridge and wardrobe and bedroom with a large balcony and en suite. The house and rooms are spotless and the interior is of very high standard, modern and beautifully decorated. Breakfast is available in the garden area where the chef also offers lunch and dinner. Vacation from 31-Dec-2009 to 3-Jan-2010 After trying our luck with hundreds of hotels in goa for a new year vacation; (mostly bad hotels / exorbitant rates). We eventually stumbled upon Bougainvillea, intially we were a bit apprehensive as it was our first time to book a place online, pay the full money upfront however we had to do it as the other options were either terrible or very expensive. However, after we reached the place, we were really impressed, as it looked way better than the listed photos and definately above our expectations. After seeing all the places that were available to us before, we realized that we took the right decision. When I first booked the hotel, I was hoping just for a neat and clean room, but the hotel blew past my expectations. Each room has a seperate living area with a couple of cane chairs, which can be dragged into an attached balcony, and a refridgerator. The balcony is very sweet, although ours just looked into another building. The rooms and bathrooms are neat and clean. And there was a decent bathtub as well. The owner is extemely helpful. It is a great place if you are not looking for luxury and are just looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
