The hotel is in a great location about 5 mins to beech road.
Check in was quick and was told they upgraded our room as it was our anniversary.
We stayed in room 220 and was escort to our room
When entering the room it smelt damp but nothing to bad.
The whole room needs upgrading as alot of bed and sofa in the room was full of stains.
The decorating was terrible looked like a child had painted it.
The bathroom was something else with crack tiles in the shower and a bath positioned in the walk in shower with no taps on very strange.
Breakfast was ok but fairly basic, eggs cooked to order as well as bacon.
Room was cleaned daily and was leaving a tip on our last day until the house keeper knocked on our door and ask for is tip which I refused.
We had a great holiday but this hotel needs upgrading and not worth the money tui are charging much better and cheaper in Candolim.
The hotel reception is bright clean and airy, but it’s a separate building from the hotel.
The hotel has been recently painted but needs definite maintenance as rather shabby.
Our room was very large with a massive bed. Cleaned daily and towels and linen changed and tea/coffee etc replaced.
Luckily the pool had reopened and it was a pleasure to spend time on the new comfortable sun beds. I spent hours swimming and generally the pool was clean but towards the end of the first week an oily residue was visible on the tiles by the waterline. It did appear to have been cleaned after a few guests mentioned it. There is a food service at the poolside, we ordered once but the sandwich was virtually inedible and cost as much as a full meal elsewhere.
There is a problem with some guests taking beer bottles in the pool and even eating while in the pool. We reported it to management a few times but nothing was done. It did appear that the managers did not want to do anything as most of the guests were nationals.
There also appeared to be a problem with people openly smoking in bedrooms with the doors open, again this was not addressed.
Breakfast was adequate.
We had dinner once in the restaurant, we barely saw anyone else eating there but decided to give it a try. Food was ok but the service very poor. It seemed to come as a surprise to the staff that they had customers. Waited 20 mins for 2 drinks and then had to ask for menus, only one was provided,so had to ask for another. Then waited ages for food, can understand why if they were busy but we were the only people there.
All in all this is a better hotel than lots of previous guests have indicated but needs a lot of work before it gets back to its previous high standard
The rooms are ok, a dirty sofa which no one with any sense would sit in. The bathroom had a shower that had a mind of its own. Breakfast was very very basic, but ok.
I was told by the obnoxious check in person that room service was not available, maybe a language course is needed. Quite astounding not to understand the concept “room service “
The icing on the cake must be when I rang housekeeping and asked if they could iron my sari. The reply was. “Madam you have an iron and an ironing board in your room do it yourself”
A very basic and simple hotel that over charges for everything. I do not recommend this hotel. Will be staying at Sea Shells hotel next time in Goa
1. Telephone in the room was not working.
2. Uncourteous bell boys.
3. Poor quality of toileteries.
4. As the phone wasnt working even if water was required had to ring the hotel on cell phone, despite which d service was too delayed.
5. Room service avl only from 11 am to 11 pm, don't understand the concept of not giving room service upto 11 am.
6. Breakfast is served in cafe not in the Restaurant as shown in the pics.
7. Bathroom ceramics have worn out.
8. Mini bar was empty.
9. Only 2 x 500 ml bottles of drinking water provided free.
10. Recurring power failures, and the generator takes almost 2 mins to startup.
3 things that's an advantage of this place is infinity pool, bazar cafe which serves yumlicious food, location of the hotel which is on main road and walkable distance from Candolim beach and all necessities at a walking distance, Bike shops just across the hotel back road.
Over all if you are on a budget trip one can consider this place. However this place is no longer a 4 star accommodation
On entering the room, immediately it looked dirty and grubby, floors looked dusty and dirty, rubbish-cigarette butt, sweet wrapper and dirt under the bed. Bedding mattress and pillows were heavily stained with goodness know what. Bathroom, mirrors dirty, black mould around the shower. Furniture had sticky coffee cup marks, fridge was filthy, lamp was filthy, doors were filthy. Balcony filthy, dirty furniture.
The whole hotel was unhygienic and dirty. Reception area is filthy, dusty and dirty, sofas look filthy dirty. The pool had a black grimy ring around it, the water turned green on the day before we left. Lots of broken tiles and electrical wires. Breakfast room is dusty and dirty, as were the toaster/milk jug etc.
Staff were pleasant but very lacklust.
Tui rep did acknowledge our complaints but was very ineffective. Other than giving us a free trip and a very small cash compensation.
All we wanted was a nice holiday not all this disappointment and hassle.
