#8 of 33 hotels in Daman
Hotel Sovereign and Hotel Gurukripa are twin gems of Daman, located near seashore of Nani Daman, in the heart of the town, having 24 rooms each, three restaurants & two conference halls. Hotel Sovereign is one of the city's famous and oldest hotels with two restaurants, namely Kasumbo and Pithora. It was started way back in 1945. It has stood test of time and successfully transformed from a small hotel to one of the leading brands in Daman over a period of more than 6 decades. It is the only pure vegetarian hotel in Daman serving authentic cuisines, namely North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Continental and most popular Guajarati Thali in its Kasumbo Restaurant. The other restaurant, Pithora, is a sea facing rooftop terrace restaurant with village ambiance. Pithora Restaurant is popular for its Chaats, fast food and Kathiawadi Thali amongst others. Due to persistent public demand for non vegetarian food, Hotel Gurukripa was started in 1979, with a multi cuisine restaurant Daman Delite, serving authentic local seafood along with Indian, Chinese and continental cuisines. Subsequently this restaurant has been renovated to give it a galaxy ambiance with twinkling stars. Hotel Gurukripa & Hotel Sovereign also provide specialised outdoor catering and banquet services. They had the privilege of being official caterers to the former president of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam and Ms. Sonia Gandhi during their visit to Daman, in the first decade of 2000. Hotel Gurukripa & Hotel Sovereign look forward to providing a pleasant staying and dining experience to their esteemed clients.

Good sumptuous breakfast, great location near beach. Few downsides observed were - Stinky smell in Reception area all the time, veg breakfast is 4 buildings down in their other property, only non-veg breakfast in same building. No wifi even though advertised, no room cleaning hapenned post check in during our 2 nights stay. Good part was they compensated a bit by giving extra water bottles, but cleaning shouldn't be optional on depositing the keys. Overall an ok stay.

I have been to Hotel Gurukripa from several years (as I can recollect it must be 1992). The earlier experiences were excellent and would rate it 5/5. Recently the hotel has started compromising on most of the things. The washrooms are pathetic(stinking), overall cleanliness is zero. The floors of the room appears to not have been cleaned from several days if not months. The AC is switched off cunningly at night so that electricity can be saved and we get no response from the room service or reception at that juncture. The receptionist is not at all customer friendly and does not bother to look into the issues raised. Overall this Hotel should be avoided for family stay. I would rate the Restaurant 5/5, still it is maintaining its standard of good quality and taste from years. Very good polite staff in the Restaurant who are always keen to help. Thanks to Kamalji and Anilji who are always there to serve us the Best. Best Restaurant in Daman no doubt about it.

Pleasent experience staying @ hotel gurukrupa. Helpful and supportive staff. Healthy breakfast. Clean and hygienic rooms. And the best part is hotel is in the heart of city Daman. Jetty beach is @ 2min walk. Daman bus stand is @750mt. Market area is so close. All beaches and main attractions are very near to hotel @ approx 4-5km distance.

Gurukripa is a very decent hotel, centrally located in the heart of Daman on the Sea face road. It has all the facilities required to make one's stay comfortable & enjoyable. Good sized rooms even with an extra bed kept in as we were 3 in the room. Staff is courteous too. Only the complimentary breakfast could definately be improved on. More options for non-veg shouldbe kept. Also, their in-house restaurant's lighting should definately be enhanced. It was so dark we could not even read the menu & hence walked out. Over all a good place for a short holiday.

The only good is the food they serve in restaurant..the food is delicious..again on the service part its very slow...they need to improve on the service part.. Rest it was OK OK stay...

Dear service Provider, This is to inform you that I am not satisfied with your service. I don't know how you going to accept the fact, but you need to modify, update yourself with technology and facilities and customer behaviour for a long term sucess. I booked the excecutives room paying 4500rs, and service was too worst. Not drinking water bottle provided, charged for the 2 water bottle. Wifi is chargeable ( in this generation). Room are too old, need update. Not getting a positive vive staying in. Feel like a goust house. Resturant is good. Service bit late. But taste was good. Paid 1000 extra for extended 4 hours of stay, that ok, but not got a bill and asked for cash payment. The security personnel in day shift is really good and helpful. Worst experience ever, in a hotel I stay. Please accept this positive. Best regards Princejeet Sarangi.

Hotel Gurukripa is a very good property. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Courteous staff. A variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are available in the restaurant. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. The property does not provide room service (for bed-tea) before 07:00 hrs.

Front office lady was rude and her attitude towards guest was very poor. To avoid delay we web checked in but when we reached to hotel at 12.30 pm we were told to wait because the room was not vacant; though I reached after the scheduled checkin time . Very congested hotel , price is very high compare to the hotel quality.
