Booked 2 nights as a surprise for my family while on a short tour of Hyderabad. Everything about this place is majestic. Rising high above Hyderabad city, the palace edifice and the view is magnifique. We had an absolutely delightful stay starting with a grand welcome replete with a horse drawn carriage and footmen. My nine year old daughter was bowled away on being welcomed to "her palace as a princess" and crowned on alighting from the carriage. The palace boasts a world of its own and oozes pure class as brought out so passionately by the resident historian and guide - Mr. Prabhakar. The gentleman regaled us with glorious tales of an era gone by and my wife and I being history buffs, delighted in this personalised tour. Live Qawwali music in the courtyard in the evenings made for a very soulful experience; they even do requests. Hearty Breakfasts and decadent dinners were a grand affair with a selection truly fit for royalty. Shout out to Pabitrai, Nasir and team for taking very good care of us. Nasir even had something off the menu rustled up just because I felt like indulging. Very attentive service indeed, even the tiniest whisper about a dish at breakfast would lead to it being magically presented to you with a smile. Overall, we were wowed by the service provide by all members of the staff and would like to compliment the following: Abdul Qayyum and team for the ceremonial welcome and departure. Pastry chef Srihari who indulged us with a tour of the so very neat kitchens and provided a short muffin making class to my daughter (the ones she set were baked and sent to our room in good order), Vinod for setting up royal ittar and milk baths, Vijay & Jagjivan for the impeccable housekeeping, towel art & flower decorations. Special mention to Mr. KV Rao for taking so many quality family photographs with so much enthusiasm. Just before leaving, we were also indulged with a short tour of some sections of the property that we had missed out on by Ms. Madhavi Degala. Taj certainly does treat their staff with a lot of respect and care and this is reflected in staff attitude towards their guests. And just when we thought it wasn't possible for us to be amazed any more than we had been, we were even gifted with a memorable goodbye in the foyer with cake for the kids, a family photograph and a set of beautiful cuff-links and a locally crafted bangle as a departing gift. The hotel is pricey but well worth the money simply for the experience and indelible memories it will leave you with. Kudos to the Taj Group and it's team for making this an incredible stay.

After having being Locked In our Home Sweet Home during lock down, we felt the urge to have a break from our routine and go out to a place which would be safe and hygienic. We shortlisted Taj Falaknuma Palace as our place. Being Inner Circle Member, my wife contacted Reservations where Ms Lata assured us that all Covid Protocols were being strictly followed. We therefore took reservations for 4 nights. We were received at the Palace main Gates with a smile and "Welcome back", which was repeated at various places, indicating that a message had been spread that we were Repeat Guests.
We were asked to step into a Royal Buggy drawn by two horses and taken to palace entrance, where rose petals were showered on us from the Ramparts of the Palace, as if we there the personal guests of The Nizam of Hyderabad.
At reception, it was all a Contact less experience,where even room keys were sanitized and offered to us in a box. No staff was allowed to handle our keys. On being escorted to our room, we were pleasantly surprised to see that we had been Upgraded to Royal Suite,indeed a wonderful accomodation. The rooms were sanitized twice each day. They had even ensured that immunity boosters like Tulsi and Ginger tea was made available. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dining experience was awesome. Here too precautions were taken for our hygiene safely. Plates sanitized, cutlery sanitized and sealed in Pouches to be opened by us, Food was amazing, very delicately prepared by the Chefs. Restaurant Manager and his team served us most willingly, recommending to us the Chef's Specials at each meal. They took care o us as if we were visiting their own home. Such a homely atmosphere was created.
We found our trip to be extremely comfortable, Enjoyable and Memorable. We would love to go back there and spend some time with them again.

My experience can not be put really into words as one must personally go and experience the grandeur of the Taj Falaknuma. Right from the time I had made the reservation, I was called to know about my preferences and also if there was any special occasion for which special arrangements could be made. As we made it onto the property we were welcomed with a very courteous and pleasant staff, who made us feel as if we were literally the royalty. They catered to us in a very warm-hearted manner and with lots of patience which is highly appreciable. Need I say about the rooms, I don't think so, as it is well known about Taj's maintenance and quality. The scrumptious and flavorful delights that were served during our course of stay cannot be expressed as I myself am still reminiscing about the various rich dishes and the burst of flavors when you take the first bite. They were also very kind enough to know if we had any off the menu delicacies in mind, not only did they make these dishes specially for us, but also gave a touch of Taj to it which was absolutely amazing. We were also given unique and refreshing drinks throughout the day which kept us energized. One actually gets to realize much more about Taj Falaknuma, during the guided tour of the palace which takes place daily if I am not wrong. The guide was a seasoned historian, who also managed the palace decades ago. The tour was very detailed and lets into the very intricate history of the palace after which one actually realizes it's significance. The Qawwali organized in the evening , was again an event in which you can enjoy and reset yourself to the tunes of both classic and modern melodies. The view of Hyderabad from 2000ft above was a surreal experience and cannot be at all imagined before actually experiencing it from the palace. The safety protocols in place were well adhered to by the palace. All of the staff had face masks and face shields and gloves, there were ample sanitization stations all around the palace. We felt re-assured that there would not be any kind of risk for us. One can go ahead and enjoy their stay at the palace without any doubts and reservations in mind. All in all, it was a splendid retreat, specially considering the sensitive period in which we are in. The palace simply rejuvenates you in every possible manner. I simply cannot wait to get back to Taj Falaknuma, very truly coined as "the mirror of the sky" !

It was my wife's birthday that we were celebrating. Initially we were in two minds that whether we should go out or should we celebrate at home considering the fact that pandemic time was still not over. We took a chance considering the brand Taj would have proper arrangements. We were not disappointed as proper hygiene was maintained and property had proper arrangements with all staff's wearing mask, gloves. Credit goes to the whole team (Few names which i remember was Sumit, Devender, Prabitra etc.) for making whole stay a memorable one. Hospitality was at its best - which we always expect from Taj. Food was amazing and the way restaurant staff took care of the small things was noteworthy. Few sanitization measures taken by the management which were important for us to decide to stay at the property were: 1. after the guest checks out of the palace, the room in which they stay is properly sanitized and is not allotted for 24 hours to another guests. 2. They were allowing only limited guests to come at the property at a given point to time 3. Proper distance was maintained at the restaurant. Keep doing what you people are doing. Kudos!!

Taj Falaknuma is unlike any other property on earth perhaps. You get the feeling of being in an extraordinary museum-palace but with a difference: you are a welcome guest here and can touch and capture on camera its precious treasures! We were upgraded to a suite on check-in which was tastefully done, replete with a four poster bed with canopy and a regal washroom. The usual Taj impeccable standard of service was there (we have stayed in numerous Taj properties in India/abroad), along with a high level of cleanliness and sanitisation, but this property creates a new benchmark. The housekeeping manager addressed us by our names when we chanced to cross paths and enquired if our previous request was taken care of - and we had checked in only few hours earlier and never met! Right from the Duty Manager who received us and saw us off, to the restaurant staff (Sudhakar, if I recall correctly), everyone aimed not to satisfy but excel and give us a memorable experience. While the dining experience especially in Gol Bungalow was enchanting, I felt the food taste on this occasion was not upto the usual high mark (have dined in Falaknuma before). But overall an exceptional experience of a regal welcome in a horse drawn carriage with rose petals shower, treatment as personal guests of the Nizam, a magnificent property with matching service. Thanks to every staff of the Mirror of the Sky!

We live in a time where the novelty of a location wears off very easily because of the Internet. You can read reviews, look at videos on YouTube, and get an overload of 1st hand information. Taj Falaknuma is immune to all of this. Although I read a lot about the experience, when my wife and I actually checked in, I am glad to say that it was so unique and distinct.
I understand that you have a template of activities in place that you have perfected, and this was evident with the precision shown by all the employees - The arrival, spa, evening tour, qawali performance, peacock feeding, welcome cake, farewell cake, etc... But what set you apart from the rest is your empathy. You understood my every need.
When I called up saying I am hungry and need a jar of cookies before the palace tour, you ran to my doorstep in 5 mins.
When I said No to dessert, you suggested a palate cleanser sorbet nonetheless.
When I asked for a watermelon juice, you just brought it over without charging me.
When I asked for details of the bathrobe I wanted to buy, your housekeeping manager found us - repeat: found us and gave us details. Later, one of your colleagues too found us in the palace and handed us an envelope with contact details.
When I said that I wanted to takeaway a Milkshake from breakfast, you brought it to my table, and what's more, you asked my wife what she wanted and kept giving options patiently till she said yes to Coconut water.
Your food is very tasty. It is absolutely a Royal experience to have stayed with you. We were treated like Royalty and spoilt for choice.
Everyone knew my wife's birthday, right from the person who opened our car door. You even paid attention to detail and understood from my Adhaar card that it was my birthday the earlier day and wished me as well.
If I have to be candid, I thought the room experience could have been slightly better. The walls were a bit damp and I could observe water seepage on walls, but it's a 130 year old building, so not complaining too much. Also, the night light could have been slightly brighter, and the mini bar could have been stocked up with drinks along with some snacks.
Your concierge Megha was amicable and proactive.
Your coordinator Mr. KV Rao was suggested by her, and he turned out to be a magician who can work his magic on any phone he sets his hands on. I cannot take a good photograph due to lack of interest and competency. He had both. He gave us a great professional photoshoot and arranged props for us to get memorable shots.
Your waiters and restaurant managers are very polite and jump to address your every concern.
I enjoyed the dining experience in Celeste (since we couldn't eat a heavy dinner that day) and I look forward to returning to your Palace to dine at Adaa.
Thank you for making my stay memorable and making my wife euphoric. The only problem now is that the bar has been set very high for her next birthday. What can we do to address that? :-)

We had a great experience at the Falaknuma Palace. We have always had a great experience staying at various Taj properties and service has always been excellent, the service and overall experience at Falaknuma palace is now our gold standard. From the point of reception at the gate to the check in process to the food,, the cultural programs in the hotel such as the qawalli, activities such as yoga etc were really well done. The food was excellent both in the restaurants and when we ordered room service. I have usually found that some properties cater too much to western tastes but here the food was authentically brilliant and Chef Sajesh was excellent. The entire experience of dining out on terrace excellent. The cocktail list was unique and well curated. The staff was really helpful and brilliant when it came to taking photographs which really thrilled my wife. Megha at the point of check in and helping us with our room changes was great. Maleeha did a great job on the tour. Overall, Sumit Datta really take great care of us during the whole stay and each time we went to with a request he really made sure they were managed. He really helped make our stay special. We are definitely returning and lot of that is due to him. I didn't think a hotel would be able to top the Umaid Bhavan experience but this definitely has and we have left Hyderabad with lots of special memories.

My wife and I travel fairly often (we hold elite tier memberships of most if not all leading hotel chains). After a fairly disappointing stay at Taj Lands end I was reconsidering our booking at Falaknuma Palace. However given our excellent experience at Rambagh we were hoping that the service at a Palace property wouldn't disappoint and it absolutely didn't. This was the first holiday my parents took in the last 2 years or so and the team went out of their way to make their experience special.
From reaching out in advance for IDs to checking for any preferences / special occasions being celebrated the front office team's approach was impressive. As TIC gold members we were upgraded without having to ask twice. Mr. Sajjad as the duty manager went out of his way to ensure my parents also got an amazing room. The checkin was amongst the smoothest I've experienced during the Covid years when in room check ins seem to have been discontinued. The entire experience of being brought into the palace on a horse drawn carriage was exquisite.
An oft overlooked department by me - the house keeping team here was standout. Ms. Mounika ditched the usual towel swans in favour of a towel cake since we were celebrating a birthday and then went out of her way to continually impress all along the length of our stay. Overall the attention to detail of the house keeping team was impressive. The IRD team(Shreyansh), F&B team at the restaurants during dinner as well as a busy breakfast service were standout. My mum is vegetarian and the team remembered that when they bought some special eggless desserts for her. Since we mentioned we were going to be taking a day excursion they packed some fruits for us as well. The F&B manager during the breakfast service whose name I forget was amazing.
Honestly each member of the staff deserves to be called out by their names for the phenomenal service we got and there isn't a single flaw I could find for this entire trip. Next time you're looking to pamper yourself or otherwise wanting to celebrate a special occasion I would strongly recommend Taj Falaknuma. We're going to be back soon!

Falaknuma palace is a splendid building refurbished beautifully with all modern amenities. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff and there are very many of them. There determination to deliver and to please is without parallel. The welcome on arrival, the general service food and location are all superb. I myself was confined to a wheelchair,self propulsion is not an option in an old palace but dial* and in moments you are on your way to any location, cannot thank the many pushers enough. The hotel is very expensive by Indian standards but not by American or European pricing. The value for money is excellent. We hope to return soon.

Overall food at Falaknuma is excellent so it’s your choice. But high tea is also a very good experience, though a bit on the expensive side. Your son will like the high tea menu as it consists of starters, sandwiches, pastries, etc.
The weather in August will be perfect! The best months to go to Hyd are August - early March
Nasar who is the hospitality manager is a gem… he treats folks like family.
Polite and very attentive to all your requests.
There are more places to choose from in the Hyderabad area.
