Before going to Andaman for a vacay, I didn't think I knew the real beauty of nature. It is, indeed, the perfect holiday spot to escape your everyday life and go on a solo trip. Facilitating this, Hotel Shompen and its staff had been with me on this small journey since I first arrived in Port Blair.
Staying at the hotel made my vacation complete. It is located in the centre of the city so I got access to all the hotspots around town. It's also close to the beach, giving me the opportunity to go to beach parties and walks along the shore. The windows offer beautiful views of the island and you can order all sorts of exotic food to your room to enjoy with the sunset. Though, I must recommend it's better to eat at their Andaman kitchen which offers all day dining at the hotel. The golden fried prawns and the lobster masala are too good to miss out on!!
Not only this, the hotel's perimeter is extremely secure and well-guarded which is assuring to any solo traveller. They also provide trustworthy cab services to customers to ensure you have a comfortable trip. Staying there was a luxury accompaniment to my exotic getaway. The rooms were extremely well maintained and spacious with round the clock service. Fun activities were planned for guests every other day with my most favourite ones being the live music and karaoke nights at love garden. Not to mention, the food was really tasty. Dining on their lobster masala at the rooftop restaurant with the music playing in the background was a whole vibe!! This one is definitely my top recommendation.

Staying at Hotel Shompen was an incredible experience. They offer high-quality services, the personnel is kind and accommodating, the beach offers spectacular views, the view from the room's side is also fantastic, and the property is well-maintained. Basic conveniences like soap, shampoo, towels, TV, internet, an iron for clothes, a newspaper, etc. are wonderfully taken care of.

Hotel Shompen is one of the best hotels in Port blair that provides best facilities. The hotel is locate at center of the town so you dont have to travel much which makes it the ideal location. Also the food was really good.

This was the worst hotel I stayed in on my recent trip to Andaman. There was no one at reception when we reached there, no one to unload luggage from Car . The receptionist came after sometime and gave us the keys. The room had bad smell of pesticides. The Ac was noise making. Inspite of so much spray pesticide, one room bed was full of flying insects . We had to ask for a change of room. Their Housekeeping staff goes away at 2 P.m. They have a Disco on 3rd Floor which plays loud blaring music till 11 in the night. So, you cannot thing of sleeping before 11 P.m. The bed wasn't comfortable too. Waited for the morning to check out of this hotel. They did provide packed breakfast of sandwich, chips and juice as we had early flight. Coca cola can ordered in Room had some strange 40% tax levied on the restaurant prices. Restaurant food was good but overpriced. Regretted choosing this Hotel or Lodge. Only people who knew what service is, were at their restaurant. Avanta at Restaurant was professional and experienced at his work.

As i start trying to write about this hotel, i feel like shooting the person in this head who booked that room for us (ofcouse it was via tour operator, if it was me, i would have never booked this hotel for myself). Nothing was right about this hotel. All the reptiles such as cockroach, spider, lizard who co-habiting along with guests in the hotel room. AC was probably installed by Britishers during per-independence and was the major source of health hazard, it was 8x9 sized room with 4 ppl stuffed in (dressing room at my home is 1.5 times of room here), again TV was broken and not working. Food again was super expensive and the quality of the food was only average. Ceiling in the common area was broken and concrete was about to fall off any time soon( look at the adjoining photo). Our room was located in third floor (Room no. 302) and right next to us they had a restaurant running (who will keep an restaurant with loud music running in the same floor as where people are staying). Felt like i am staying in the middle of a market.
I strongly recomend people to avoid booking this hotel, totally horrible experience staying here.

Hotel Shompen is one of the best hotels in town which provides some of the most top class services. The food of the hotel is too good especially the prawns. Also the ambience was hood. And everyone was wearing a mask which was the best thing.

Hotel Shompen is a great hotel in centre of the city which has sea facing rooms which allows you to have a relaxing stay while enjoying a great view. The staff of the hotel are really helpful and the service was also quite decent. We had a pretty good stay

It was a mistake booking this hotel, but stayed for just one night. Actually I booked this hotel in a hurry as could not find hotels in Portbialr through GoIbibo. So room was not good just a basic room, light kept on fluctuating. Charging port was only one so we asked for extension cord. Food was just average. I asked for ice they didn’t have that, i asked for opener they came with spoon to open the bottle… They did not have tandoor items to eat because guest were less… I mean what is this??? It’s a hyped hotel…. Just even dont go there… think of any other hotel….

A single night was spent here. Even though the room was tidy and clean, it was very little, and the bathroom was overcrowded. I was forced to use the regular mug because the health faucet was broken. The television's operation was likewise quite difficult. The hotel should have done some research. Its breakfast buffet was its one and only saving grace. Although bread and butter weren't available, they were quickly arranged after a request. Excellent view from the restaurant. Because the elevator can only hold three people at a time and the steps are cramped, there is a waiting period. It does have a special geographic advantage, though.

Electricity every 15 min Fluctuations ,Very bad quality WIFI Speed .I have multiple times complain but no one Improvement .Mobile network not available most of Rooms ,Last 15 days i really very disappointed Hotel WIFI. Hotel Staff behavior nice.
