The room rates are quite on the higher side considering a government undertaking property and can be booked online on ANIDCO site. The resort is nestled surrounding government establishments on a small cliff, a bit far from marker and other restaurants. So we need to have some vehicle for going to the main Port Blair market. Mr Gopal (Number: 09531918600 / 09933202151) can be of great help to organize your trip with needed reservations for visiting Jolly buoy island etc….that also with a very reasonable costing. His positive attitude, helping nature and punctuality was adorable and makes him very dependable.
In short for resort..Little to complain.. Nothing exceptional.
The staff is courteous and the service is decent. The rooms are clean but not very well-maintained. The main highlight of this place is the view from the deluxe rooms and huts, and this resort does not disappoint in this regard.
Overall, we liked the time we spent here and would love to come back again. I would also like to recommend our guide Gopal Bhaiya, who had helped us with ferry booking and sight seeing in Port Blair. He made it easy for us to travel in a Pandemic. If you need help around the island, please get in touch with him at 9933202151, 9531918600.
We also came in touch with auto driver Gopal bhaiyya for our sightseeing in Port Blair. He is an honest helpful guide who provided us with autos whenever needed and took us to all the places of interest. He priced us very reasonable and provided us with good contacts in Havelock and Neil as well. For a good hassle free stay in Andamans contact him at 9933202151, 9531918600
We took the sea view room and the view was really beautiful. The balcony was big and had enough space for 2 to enjoy the sunset. The room service was prompt and the staff was helpful but one would expect more from them since it's such a fancy resort. The food was horrible and over priced. The resort had dogs all over to the point where it can get scary to walk in the night. The resort provides cab services but it's pretty expensive. Pickup from the airport is free but not the jetty so check once before booking the cab.
All in all this is a decent stay with room for a lot of improvements.
We will definitely stay here on our next visit to the Andaman Islands. The location was convenient to catch a ferry to Havelock and Viper Islands
Food during lunch, dinner is nice, bar is decent but breakfast is basic.
Staff is very helpful and we enjoyed our stay.
We stayed in a beautiful bamboo cottage. It was quite reasonable also. Costed us Rs. 1,500 per day with breakfast and dinner included. You can look at the pictures to see the real beauty.
I called at reception. The Receptionist told me that they are coming in a second. But nobody came upto 20 minutes. I called them again and again over telephone but nobody has picked up my calls. Then I called the manager of Hotel over his Mobile. He told me that I would do something. Then my phone was picked up by the receptionist. Thus after half an hour of the incident the staff members came in our room. We were quite afraid as we have kids with us and felt helpless and moreover paralyzed.
After one hour of the incident manager came in my room and asked the staff members how this incident happened. Meanwhile a security person came with the towel and showed us the towel. That was the same towel. According to him he found it some 200 meters from our room in a bush.
We were told not to lodge a complaint in the police, as it may create inconvenience to us only and assure us that we will picked up the person within few days. Till date there is no development even after my repeated follow up.
I am sure; the staff of the hotel was involved in the incident. The reasons are as follows: -
1. How the security personnel has found the towel within 10 minutes at night in jungle.
2. Why has the receptionist not picked up the phone?
3. Why have they not came in our room till 30 minutes?
4. Why was the burglar in utmost confidence?
5. Why have they persuaded us not to make a complaint in police?
6. Why was no action has been taken against the erring staff even after my repeated follow up?
Now I have decided to take up the matter with higher officials against the hotel staff. Till date we feel afraid by the incident.
Antilog Vacations offered us a 7 day package and Megapode was our stay amongst 2 hotels for the trip. The tour was good , all inclusive flights etc and cheaper than what other agents had offered us.It also turned out to be nicely executed one
We stayed at nicobari cottage. The thatched roof nicobari cottages have bath tub, refrigerator and balcony overlooking sea. The nicobari cottages in this resort are popular among other cottages. The views from the room are breathtaking and fascinating. The huge room made us more comfortable. The room was cozy, spacious, good ambience and clean. The hotel offers 32 inch LCD TV in rooms. The night view of the sea from lobby was superb with cool gentle wind striking from all directions. The place is simply awesome.
The hotel staffs are very helpful and friendly to us .Narayan from Antilog arranged our sightseeing trip. The food menu at the hotel was simply delicious. The food they served us was pretty tasty. All kind of sea foods are available here. I ordered crab it was simply superb. You can enjoy all the facilities what you need. There was absolutely privacy, silence and since the balcony is east facing, it has shade for most part of the day except early morning. It’s a perfect place to put your feet up and hair down and lounge for the entire day.
The people who are willing to go for a trip to Andaman then this are the right place to choose. Close your eyes and book megapode nest. It’s a worth visiting place. Choose your rooms at nicobari cottages it’s a nice place to visit once in your life time. Overall it’s a good place to stay. Thanks for all to give such a memorable moment.
"Try to get Nicabori cottage if that is available. If you don't, other rooms are also good."Read full review
"Look for Deluxe rooms or Ncobarese hut - book early so you get these. These huts may not be so modern but large and offer best views."Read full review
