We went in a group of 18 people and stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. We stayed in this hotel for 1 night before going to Havelock Island and again stayed in the hotel for 1 night after coming from Havelock Island. We used this hotel as our transit hotel. The rooms are in good condition. However, when we checked into the hotel there was a problem in aircon on our floor. Because of this issue we faced lot of inconvenience for 4-5 hours. However, Ms Sultana was fully dedicated to get it resolved.
The best part of the hotel was food. Mr Neel and his team gave a best restaurant service. The food was fresh, tasted great and they catered alot to our demands. Food is ok priced and not very expensive. The Hotel is centrally placed so local market can be easily accessed.

Suggestions-
Rooms can be better maintained and equipped with small mini refrigerators.
Wifi signals in room are weak and non existent. You can use the wifi only at the reception.
Elevator is quite slow and old style and can be improved
Some of the front office reception staff seemed confused and unaware. They can be trained better to take decisions.

Housekeeping worked like they forgot the routine due to lockdown. Wi-fi was not accessible at room, the elderly Lady at Reception was Crisp "Sirf lobby mein milaga" will only be available at lobby. The set top box was dangling. Only silver lining was Mr.Neel, Captain at restaurant and all the other roles he played. Food was ok, but restaurant service was good.
Even after word to Top management through a local contact, no perceptible improvement. Can do way better. Any way Thanks Mr.Neel for making it bearable.

Neel, the captain of the restaurant is doing an excellent job. I would like to complement his abilities of providing superb hospitality and managing his staff. He understands the taste buds of the guests really well and suggests, serves the best dishes accordingly. I have been a regular visitor to the restaurant during my stay at Port Blair and he has facilitated me and my friends, office seniors in best possible manner. I remember him running around in entire restaurant to serve the guests, let it be buffet or ala carte!! He ensures good hygiene of the area He introduced me various continental dishes which were really mouth watering. He is a very gentle, highly professional captain of the restaurant. My suggestion to all those who visit the hotel/restaurant to try continental dishes.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during visit to portblair with family. The only good thing about the hotel is its central location to nearby attractions. Terribly mismanaged hotel is an understatement.completely untrained staff except the receptionists who make every effort to solve issues without much success; While rooms are decently sized , they are poorly ventilated and many of them living on airfreshners. Air conditioners either work on full or dont work at all, we had a room that had a leaking air conditioner vent to say the least - no transportation facilities that are hotel owned - Claiming to be 3 star, doesn't have a full time working kitchen that offers adequate room service , and has nothing else to offer except a roof top restaurant that was closed during most of the day. Breakfast was OK with some options but by no means adequate and bad serving staff rooms 3 Times during our visit to settle for a room that was near to manageable. Stay here is only recommended for transit or a night at max. Recommend you spend your valuable bucks in some place else for sure.

Very nice, cozy and comfortable hotel. Located in a prominent place within a walking distance from many tourist place. The rooms are well furnished for a royal stay. Mr.Neel (07063997020), the Captain of the hotel was very generous, helpful, informative and suggestive about the Island state of Port Blair. The restaurant on the Terrace with a beautiful view was serving delicious, authentic, local and international cuisines. All value for money. Would recommend this J Hotel for a pleasant stay.
Contact Mr. Neel 07063997020 for more information. Mr. Neel will be delighted to give you all the information.

We are here for 2 days and 2 nights. In the day we go around Ross Island, Neil Island and other places.
We had a full course food for Dinner after spirit in a Bar nearby. For me it is a great feeling having food here. The cool wind outside at 8pm for 2 hours of our dinner was a good setting for the evening. To say the least, food quality was very good
We ordered vegetarian food, Punjabi style. So one Paneer tikka, one mixed vegetable curry, Salad, Dals, hot rotis and rice was served.
It tastes heavenly. Spice was just right quantity.
Overall I/we enjoyed the day.

Rooms are big and spacious . The roof top restaurant is good but it has limited options serving right now due to corona virus. Mr Neel the restaurant captain is doing an excellent job of managing the restaurant in this crisis , less staff time .The food served is good and Mr. Neel gives utmost care to serve you personally and tries to fulfill all the request of guests subject to his constraints due to lockdown. Wifi access is patchy . The location is near to market and marina park .Overall a good experience .

The boy who is busy in his laptop in the recption has nothing to do with the guest. Very bad experience I don't want visit toDon't waste money on this one.
First thanks to Trip Advisor there was a big issue of booking, then when we finally reached j hotelthe rdeluxe roomwas pathetic, all wet floors were bedding was also very old. the staff was ill-mannered and had no idea how to talk or deal with the situation. after wasting good 1.5hrs with no result possible we left the matter and they promised to change the room. Thereafter the other rooms were just as pathetic making it even more difficult for us to live in this hotel but these people were adamant on returning the money and we were bound to stay here. thinking hotel Staff don't know how to talk

The hotel was the absolute worst. It smelled horrible with very bad maintenance. We had booked a premium tour package with Yatra and they include these kind of filthy hotels which had rooms with no windows and an A/C that does not work claiming them to be good hotels. It really makes me think if Yatra’ quality is the same or has fallen down. It’s shame on their end to provide such a hotel to its customers who take their premium package. Even OYO rooms would have been far much better. It is even more atrocious that Yatra is not taking steps to rectify and change the hotel when I go back to Port Blair on 08-Apr-2022.

J is at the centre..but I wouldn't prefer it. It doesn't have proper water heating systems... the poor females working there get hot water buckets to n fro which takes time and you don't feel too good too for a hotel like this. It has a it did not have Milk availability for small children travelling.. n WiFi/TV hardly worked. Maybe the WiFi/TV didn't work that day, but the other things put us off this place. On our return from Havelock/Neil we stated at another place, S R Castle - close to airport.. little away from town. But a very good place. Rooms and food as well.

Size...but the rooms seemed a similar size. I looked in some of the open rooms and bar a bit more space I could see no difference. Try and get a room on the back of the hotel as rooms at the front could be noisy. Enjoy your stay...the food in the restaurant on the top floor is very good. Happy New Year, David
