We stayed over at Mrs Dinaz's place, during our stretch over at Port Blair. I had been travelling with my mom and her friend, details ironed through Shiraz over whatsapp. An absolutely wonderful experience, Mrs. D and Shiraz were great hosts, and boy, did we learn a lot through our conversations of things to do in and around Port Blair, much of history, heritage and cuisine in a short span! I enjoyed our evening conversations by the stairs on how our day's travels went and much valued suggestions for things to do for our next day! Shiraz was instrumental in helping me out with our travels to North Andaman, Diglipur, which was exceptional and worth the experience. Their place was comfortable, logistics helped with brilliantly and food decent! The tea was a highlight, loved it to bits. Would be a regular pitstop for me on future repeats to Port Blair!

I had a chance to kayak with Tanaz and Shiraz on Havelock Island. I've never met anyone who has such a passion of mangroves. Trip was organised very professionally and safe/ I have;t had a chance to go for night kayaking because of the weather. I know from my friends it's a great and interesting trip. Later on I stayed at their guesthouse in Port Blair. It was very clean and cozy. I had wonderful dinner with all the ladies from the family. I got to know a lot about the culture and history of that place, as they moved there long time ago and they've seen the changes Port Blair went through. I strongly recommend both trips and stay in that place.

I stayed with Mrs. Noble and family for over a night, and it felt I was home. :) In just a few hours of my time with them, each family member ensured I am comfortable. Rooms were clean, and food was absolutely fantastic (Dhan sak was my fav, and I still remember the taste of the special tea). They arranged the pickups for me and recommended just the best things to see in Port Blair. Thank you for being an absolutely adorable bunch of people. I will visit again soon, to be Spiderman with Jihan, for Memo's love and awesome conversations with Bakhtawar, Shiraz and Mrs. Noble. Loads of love to all of you!

Planned a night halt at port Blair to and fro havelock. Stayed at noble homes with delnaz and family. 4v adults and an 8 great old... one room that sheetu provided us with was very convenient. Water and erratic power supply apart was a great time. Conversations galore... got to know more about the islands and touristy options. Home cooked food as well. If we get to port Blair we know where to head towards.

Stayed here just for 1 night with friends before catching a ferry - what most people do I think. We had a 4 person room, which was better than expected. Air con good, lots of mosquito's though. Beds very hard. Bathroom was small, limited hot water and towels didn't help to dry you! No wifi, but that was fine. I had to book an urgent flight when there, and the owner was so helpful, turning their limited Internet on, and letting me use their computer. Breakfast was really good and authentic. Location wasn't great, but Port Blair itself just wasn't the best place, and I think I would recommend a same day as arrival ferry if possible!

I have heard that while returning back from Havelock, Port Blair is often the place where tourists get melancholic that they are going back to the rigmarole of daily life. The feeling of despondency on a fun filled vacation coming to an end is enough to make one depressed. Boy am I glad that I stayed in this place which not only has a cosy charm but exceptionally warm and friendly hosts. The interesting conversations nearly made me miss my flight and that speaks volumes about how engaged I was. PS - Shiraz does very interesting mangrove kayak tours for those inclined towards these which should not be missed. Tip - enjoy the moment.. Agar dekhna chaaho to bahut kuch hai!! 🙂

The Noble family who own the the apartments are very cordial and hospitable. Rooms are well equipped and considerations given to even minor requirements. They provide for meals as well with prior request. Though located a little away from the main road, it is an excellent option for a short stay at Port Blair.

Thank you for your fair assessment of our homestay. My emphasis is on basic comfort and cleanliness with minimum impact on room rates. We have been upgrading our apartments organically and learning as we go along and we have come a long way from where we started. All my best to you and your family.

Local's call it the captain House. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. It was a pleasure to interact with Noble Family. I was travelling alone and stayed day I landed at Port Blair and on my return from Neil Island. family helped me in planning out the birding trip and added advantage since Shiraj himself is treasurer of the avian club. The night birding was one memorable experience and it was my first time.It was interesting to interact with Tanaz and her kayaking expeditions. You have to tell in advance for food and you get home cooked food which they will share with you in their dining table. They will even mention if food is possible or not hence do check in advance. Port Blair restaurant closes at 9 PM. there is a joint called milky way (walking distance) which opens till 11 PM just in case you miss the 9 Pm deadline. House is at a incline so take care while walking. Go to the terrace and sleep on the hammock and enjoy the view. Mrs Noble has ensured that her house is less of concrete and more of greenery around.

We (3 adults) stayed here for 1 night on the recommendation of a family friend before our ferry to Havelock Island. On the positive side, the room was very clean, the beds were comfy and the owner was available to assist us by phone when we called. The overall experience however, was unpleasant. The room was very dark. The house was on a very steep hill, which was difficult for my Mother (who is disabled) to walk into and out of. The Wi-Fi was not working during our stay and was only accessible if you were near the router in the upper floor. The owner was very short with us. We arrived on a 3pm flight which by the time we physically stepped in the door was closer to 5pm. We were not able to settle in or even take our luggage into our rooms before we were told we had to "hurry up" and decide if we wanted a driver to take us to a local tourist spot and to dinner. And also whether we wanted to have breakfast in the morning and what we wanted to eat. She was on the phone as she was asking us and told us if we didn't decide now, it would be "difficult" to arrange for later. In any case we said yes to everything, and later decided not to go to the lit up prison, and had an ok meal at the restaurant that was booked for us. The breakfast the next morning was poori baji for 3 people, which they charged us rs. 600 for and served it late so we didn't have time to sit down and eat properly before our ride to the airport showed up. When I tried to pay the remainder of our invoice the owner was very rude to me about what I owed insinuating I was not paying her enough but she did not give me the correct information in the first place. It was not a pleasant first experience for our first night in the Andamans.

Thank you for mentioning the positive. Regret my memory does not locate your stay, but going by the details, the cab booking is difficult after 5 as most drivers are go off duty around that time. We are a homestay and do not stock provisions like restaurants, we need to know the breakfast preference before the shops close. The price of breakfast is prominently displayed, and the choice of puribhaji was entirely yours. The time of serving is also yours, so if the time is late then you asked for it late. We have now discontinued breakfast before 7am, as people rarely have time to eat it. Besides peole don't realise how early the household had to wake up to accommo date such a request, and it is rarely appreciated. After you have slept and eaten, is not the time to haggle, such tactics will not be appreciated by us either.

Having spent a fair bit of time in India, I far prefer homestays as you actually get a good level of service. Andaman Homestay is a prime example of this. We were greeted at the door by Shiraz and shown to our room. The room and bathroom (and sheets) were clean on our arrival - somewhat of a rarity in India, and proved comfortable for our stay. We opted to have dinner at the homestay which was plentiful and delicious. We really enjoyed interacting with our hosts who were able to recommend nearby sights of interest as well as arranging autos to get there if we wanted. It was a shame we didn't find this place sooner.
